Chapter 13 - 002

"Are you telling me that this is your best work?", Rosa asked with interrogation and sarcasm. "Seriously, Chalsey, where do you get your sense of liability?"

Chalsey jerked at the mention of her usefulness. It wasn't always that Rosabella Skylar had a peace of mind, and she would certainly not take part in an absurd event at her school.

She had a faint personality of a saint, too much time for gossip, and a target to be judged at. The last part didn't bother Rosa; she had had enough of that nagging from her father, whom she despises.

Her emotional love for others has decreased to zero, and the people she trusts, well....., let's just assume she's a brat who has no sense of being nice.

Chalsey, a young girl in front of her, was shivering with fear and anger. Her best moral support would be anyone in this school, since Rosa had secured her reputation as a villainess. Chalsey was abaidly waiting for her time to outshine the brat in front of her.

'Just wait till the rest of the students come and watch you meddle with me, it's game over b*%&£'.

"Hey!" Rosa snapped her fingers. "I'm talking to you. Don't wander off when I'm speaking. It's called being disrespectful."

Chalsey couldn't believe what she was hearing. Rosabella Skylar has never talked to anyone (Mainly due to her father's reputation), but her personality was enough to know what kind of person she was.

"You can't say stuff like that", mumbled Chalsey, "It's not my fault the poster isn't up to your liking, besides, everyone will love it."

"Then how do you know they will love it?" Rosa argues, "How do you know they will be pleased by it? For goodness' sake, Barbie, this", she points at the poster, "Looks like two jelly beans squashed together and vomited the shit out of each other. It looks pathetic and has no class. I mean, seriously, are you going to ruin this year's event with that bubbly font? It's supposed to have elegance, not whatever that is", she gestures to a dog, but later finds out it's a man.

Chalsey had rage building in her; her palms clenched in a fist, when she yelled, "NOT MY FAULT, MY HANDWRITING IS NOT CURSIVE AS YOURS, AT LEAST I HAVE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT ME ON MY DRAWINGS".

"DRAWINGS? SERIOUSLY? YOU CALL THEM DRAWINGS?", Rosa yelled back at her, "THOSE AREN'T DRAWINGS, BARBIE, THOSE ARE ABOMINATIONS, MONSTROSITY, MISTAKES THAT CAN'T BE FIXED. YOU HAVE NO TALENT FOR DRAWING OR AN_".

"IT'S CHALSEY! BRAT", Chalsey took a moment to breathe. "MY NAME IS CHALSEY HOWARD. HOW DARE YOU SHOUT AT ME WITH NO MOTIV_".

 Chalsey's mouth shut when Rosa clapped with a round of applause. She clapped with might and force, almost tearing Chalsey's eardrums. A cruel smile forms on her face when she says, "Not so pathetic are you now?".

"What?" Chalsey mumbles from her sore throat; her eyes are filled with rage. But all of that drowned when a figure entered the closed arts room. 

It was none other than_

"Principal Morgan!" Chalsey cried with fear. "What brings you here?".

Principal Morgan, the head and elite of this school, was a tall, strict figure with low-bridge fit glasses and a tight back bun. Her face was furious beneath all those wrinkles, and she had a habit of constantly tapping her heel when she needed an explanation.

"This is my school, Miss Howard. Am I not allowed to roam at my school, or are you hoping I have a chat with your father about your indecent behaviour?".

"No, Miss, I have no idea what you're talking about. What do you mean by my indecent behaviour? I_".

Chalsey's words were halted when Miss Morgan held her hand for her to stop talking. 

"Save your words, Miss Howard. Apparently, your throat is enough evidence about the nutcracker you've become. Please leave whatever you are doing and go to detention. I have enough headaches this week".

She then glances at the poster and wenches in disgust. "Miss Skylar, throw away that abomination and proceed to room 26. Someone wants to speak with you".

Rosa gently nodded and watched Chalsey being dragged away by Principal Morgan, with tears in her eyes. She threw the poster in one of the empty trash cans and walked straight towards room 26.

She knocked before entering, and immediately her face fell. Room 26 was a small room with one large window and grey wallpaper. The room was filled with extra tables and chairs that were used or broken. Regardless, it has one large, high-quality grey table at the center.

But now it was occupied by a huge figure. His physique was good; he was muscular with tanned skin and had black hair pulled back. His face showed that the man was in his early fifties, and his attire showed he was a businessman.

"Nice to meet you, Ros_".

"Cut the chase and talk about why you are here, Mr Lorenzo".

Lorenzo, surprised. "I had no idea you would remember me. I assumed you might have wiped out your memory like your friend".

"Well, she had too much on her hands, and she's not my friend. She doesn't even remember me, there is no way_".

"Ivan found her location and tracked her", Lorenzo said without warning. "I'm sorry, Rosa, but you kids are all we have left".

"Shut up". Rose muttered in anger. "I'm not going back to the way I was".

"You might not have a choice".

All of a sudden, darkness enveloped Rosa's life, turning it into hell rather than what it was. The syrium injection caused her pain of agony and numbness. She couldn't bear the sharp, needle-like aggression in her skin, reaching to her bones.

She clenched her fist tight, hoping for all of it to end. For all of it being a small nightmare. Sadly, that was not the case.

Now she awakens from her painful slumber, only to meet more irritation than it actually was. 

'God, save me from this hell. '

She prayed till Kace was cracking the code for her to be released. Orette was just beside her, telling her how Ivan suddenly showed up at her school and babbled about the whole syrium thing. It really caught her off guard. 

She also told her about Kace. His cell was suffocating and quite small, causing him to lose his breath. She told her all kinds of stuff that happened just recently, like how she challenged the military, how they chased her like maniacs, and a small conversation with Kace.

Orette told everything, while missing a few details.

But none of that mattered when everyone heard, "ACCESS GRANTED. PLEASE PROCEED WITH FURTHER NOTICE__ RELEASED IN 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1."

In less than a second, the chains from the back of Rosa were released one by one. Kace left the cabinet and made his way to Rosa, who was on the verge of collapsing. Orette kicked the heavy chains and made space for Rosa to lie down.

"You okay, brat?" asked Orette, who was massaging Rosa's hands.

"That m@&$£%*~#/%*$£, &*%$£%&$^&, *(&%$£%£%." (Beep)

Orette stopped massaging her hands.

Kace stopped and stood still in his place.

Both were shocked and staring at each other, and turned their gaze back to the monster they had just released.

"I guess that's why they chained her mouth", said Kace fearlessly.

"What was that?" Rosa's sharp eyes pointed daggers at Kace, to which he replied.

"Nothing".
