Drip! Drip! Drip!
The flow of shallow water could be heard from miles away; the silence of the sewers was inevitable. The pungent smell spread across the underground hall as Rosa, Kace, and Orette tried to walk across the other side through the dark green algae water.
Splash! Splash!
Orette couldn't keep her thoughts out of what she was experiencing, not even her head. She observed Kace and envied his height to the point that the water only reached his upper thighs.
Meanwhile, Orette, on the other hand, was in a situation of swimming. The water had reached her waist so that she couldn't go ahead. Seeing the hardship she's fallen into, she decided to_
"I would never fall in love again until I found her~♪. I said, "I would never fall unless it's you I fall into". "
_Sing.
"I was lost within the darkness, but then I found her. I found you~♪♪♪♪♪".
"Would you stop singing!" complained Rosa. "My ears are bleeding because of your siren voice".
Orette smirked, glancing at Rosa, who was leaning on Kace's back for support. Her arms and legs wrapped around him, like a turtle shell.
"Georgia, wrap me up in all your. I want you in my arms. Oh, let me hold you~♪ ".
"SERIOUSLY!", Rosa yelled back at Orette. Her eyes were red.
"Don't blame me, love made me crazy. If it doesn't, you ain't doin' it right.~♪".
"Oh no, not that song". Muttered Kace.
Now, Rosa was on the verge of breaking.
"Oh!", she said with sarcastic surprise, "So you wanna have a singing battle?".
"Let's not". (Kace)
"Let's sing", Rosa declared, clearing her throat dramatically. "We are the crowd. We're c-coming out. Got my flash on, it's true. Need that picture of you~♪".
"It's so magical. We'd be so fantastical~♪ ". Orette interrupted in the middle. "Leather and jeans. Garage glamorous. Not sure what it means. But this photo of us_♪".
"It doesn't have a price. Ready for those flashing lights~♪". (Rosa)
"'Cause you know that baby I_♪". (Orette)
"I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me. Papa-paparazzi. Baby, there's no other superstar you know that I'll be your papa-paparazzi~~♫⋆｡₊˚♬ ". (Both at the same time)
Kace, who wanted to drown himself, sighed and recalled why they had to go through the sewers.
Apparently, Rosa and Kace were labeled weak since the syrium hasn't fully fused in their blood, due to which they are suffering from weakness, delusional, un-discribale, crybabying symptoms of unfused syrium_ according to Orette.
Their abilities were standard, less durable since Kace had already used portal manipulation, and Orette wasn't confident her ability would help much, since Hector might figure out they were in the building and would start charging forward from all directions.
"You know, like that 'FBI, OPEN UP' video, that's been like a meme since forever". Explained Orette. "Luckily for us, there is an underground sewer through which we will be out in about", she counted the numbers in her fingers.
"Twenty minutes", Rosa replied with her sore throat from all the shouting and cursing.
Kace slowly nods and picks a small USB hard drive from his pocket. "This drive contains files from that control panel", he says, showing a small USB in his fingers. "It's not waterproof, so we have to be very careful".
"I think I may come to help with keeping the USB dry". Said Rosa, showing a cruel smile to Orette. Orette frowned a looked back at her with confusion. "All you have to do is trust me".
And this brings us back to where they left off. Kace sighed again, making it the twelfth time, and prayed a silent prayer to end this singing,_no, this horde of noise.
"Okay, now let's sing", Rosa paused to give a thought, and then it finally hit her. She turned back to Orette. "Call me maybe".
Orette nodded and started to sing. "I threw a wish in the well, don_".
"THERE!", Kace points at the small, narrow light ahead of him, "I can see it, it's heaven".
"Whoa, bud, I didn't know you hated the sewers that much", Orette said behind him. "But could you feel the water flowing fast, I don't think I can walk in th_".
Before Orette could utter another word, her foot stumbled over something slippery, jacking her leg forward, forcing her body to fall behind. Orette falls back and jerks her head in the dirty water.
Her legs lost grip and her body drifted with the nasty odor liquid to the opening of the light.
"Gu-ys, a little, h-elp!", she reached her hand up, pointing where she is. Kace picks up his speed, but eventually, he also slips over his back, and the water covers Rosa's entire back.
She picks the USB from her pocket and sets her eyes to the light. In an instant, she is seen at the opening of the sewers that spreads like a waterfall. Her hand grips the dirty outer pipe. She turns and calls Orette, who was still a few meters from the exit. Kace, knowing Rosa had teleported, dives into the water and swims to Orette.
He grips his one hand on Orette's arms, and the other grabs Rosa's. The water was too fast for Kace to remain still, so he, along with Orette, was dragged at the exit and was about to fall into the dirty river of waste ahead of them.
"Gross", Orette said as her legs were flying in the air. She was confused at first, but when she looked up, she saw Rosa, supporting her and Kace's weight, while her hand gripped the outer edge of the pipe.
Orette had to think fast. Kace's hand was slipping, and Rosa couldn't keep up for too long. Without much thought, Orette shouted at Rosa. "LET GO, BRAT!".
Rosa, suspiciously gave Orette the 'What?' look.
"BELIEVE ME AND LET GO!".
Rosa waited for a while, maybe she was thinking the same thing Orette had planned, and so she let go.
