Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

"Shiloh..Nghhh….Shiloh.." I could sort of hear my voice in my head, not really sure if I was awake or asleep. I could feel my body being touched, and I could feel the breath on my neck. I felt like I was being smothered by those lips, they felt rough and dry, and they kissed my whole body. It was pretty uncomfortable. I was even close to throwing up. There's this other thing going on, too, the air is filled with the scent of all these people I don't recognize. It's kind of like a mix of pheromones and their body odor.

Disgusting.

When I opened my eyes, a bright light hit my face. My eyes were trying to get used to the bright light, and I kept blinking. My head hurt like crazy. My body was in a lot of pain from top to bottom. I was whimpering and couldn't move. It felt like everything was numb, and I felt very weak.

As I got used to the light, I stared at the white ceiling. The room felt so quiet, at least to my ears. There was a new, calming scent in the air that I couldn't identify. I knew I wasn't in that unpleasant place, and that was a relief.

So, where was I?

As footsteps approached, the sound of loafers clashing with the floor was heard, and someone commented, "Wow, your body control is hilarious. You can even regain consciousness on your own. " The deep voice made me look over.

There was a guy standing next to my bed, and he didn't look familiar. He had a monolid eye, and it was sharp like a tiger's glare. He smiled a little. His scent—like tobacco—clung to him.

His voice, where I heard it again?

"Ngh...." I was about to ask a question, but I couldn't even form words, I had such a dry throat and it hurt so much.

"Just don't feel like you have to say everything right away. You're still a bit doped up. The doc said it'll take a while for the effects to wear off." The guy leaned over and smiled big as he was saying this.

I could see his face pretty well. I noticed that his eyes are light brown, his nose and jaw are sharp, his lips are full, and he has a scar above his right eyebrow that makes it look like the skin was cut off there. I also noticed that he has a nice scent.

It reminds me of a tangerine scent.

I blinked, Is it possible for someone with a tough look to have a scent like tangerines?

Is he an Alpha? I'd say he's an alpha, just by looking at him, he's tall and large. I mean, I've never smelled anything like it from an Alpha before.

"You're so beautiful." He said that and then just walked away from me.

I was still silent, unable to react because my head hurt so much. I could still hear his last words as I finally dozed off for the millionth time.

I heard a noise, like rustling, in my ears, and finally opened my eyes, which were heavy. Now I could see the light once more. I was still a bit dazed, and the dim light and tangerine scent hit me as I came back to.

I could just barely see his back from the corner of my eye. He was rummaging through the plastic on the table. I frowned again and tried to remember where I'd seen this guy before. He's a stranger, but he's too familiar.

He turned his head and looked a little surprised to find me staring, and as he walked closer, I could smell the tangerine scent more and more.

"Is that your pheromone's smell?" I asked him, and he seemed taken aback when he heard my voice.

To be honest, I was shocked when I heard my own voice. It sounded so hoarse and terrible.

"What's smell?" He asked while sitting right next to the bed.

He's got on a decent-looking long-sleeved shirt, and I can see his suit jacket and tie folded nice and neat on the sofa. His hair was slicked back in a way that made it clear he was just off the clock.

"Tangerines." I replied his questions instead.

He looked a bit surprised again, and then I could see he chuckled.

"I've never heard anyone say my pheromone smell like a tangerine before. Am I smell... Sour?" He said, sitting up straight with his long legs crossed, back against the chair.

His eyes were on me again, and they looked pretty intense.

I don't give him a quick response because I'm still trying to process what he said. I'm being honest when I say that he smells like a tangerine. His sweet pheromone was filling the room. Personally, I find it quite pleasing. I've spent the past month smelling something nasty in that place, so this room feels so cozy and warm. And for no reason at all, his pheromone makes me feel calm.

"The sweet one, it's the sweet Tangerines smell."

He looked a bit puzzled when he heard my answer. I could see his eyebrows rise and he smiled slightly.

"That's interesting. I didn't know my pheromone could smell like that. You're the first to mention it.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but seeing him smile, I'm sure he's in a good mood. Once more, I'm not sure who I'm talking to or why I'm even here. I had a lot of questions going on, but the pheromones made me forget about them for a second.

I'll ask him later.

"I've never smelled sweet tangerines, and I'm wondering if that's a good thing." He asked again.

I looked over at him and nodded slowly.

"Your scent calms me."

I'm not sure if he's getting what I'm saying. Honestly, I don't even know what I'm saying half of the time. I'm pretty sure the drugs are still on me.

I can't recall how he looked at that moment because I was still feeling so tired that I closed my eyes again.

"Excuse me, sir. Who exactly are you?" I asked, carefully.
