The Weight of Power
After the incident with Ino, Obito Uchiha retreated to his personal dimension—a timeless void where the rules of the outside world held no meaning. The stillness enveloped him like a shroud, offering the clarity he needed. He'd made the right choice avoiding distractions... especially something as volatile as love.
"This is what I had to do," he muttered, leaning against a jagged rock formation. "I can't afford distractions like love. Not now."
In his hands, a vial glinted—a single Sharingan suspended in preservative fluid, its crimson glow pulsing in sync with his chakra.
"Time to reclaim my full power."
With surgical precision, he transplanted the eye into his empty socket. The Hashirama cells accelerated the healing, sealing it instantly. Without hesitation, he plucked the Rinnegan from his right eye. Once, this would've been agony. Now?
"I'll have to get used to feeling no pain," he murmured, almost awed. "Strange... severing limbs, removing eyes—and nothing. Hashirama truly was monstrous."
His gaze dropped to Danzo's arm grafted onto his right side. The First Hokage's cells had transformed it into a living weapon, amplifying his chakra and Wood Release affinity.
«This arm has enhanced my chakra reserves,» he assessed, flexing his fingers as energy crackled beneath his skin. «And my Wood Release control is sharper. I should develop new techniques... but for what purpose? Not against Konoha.»
The untapped potential of Wood Release nagged at him—a legacy he'd never fully explored.
«I'll master it,» he resolved. «With the Sharingan and perfected Wood Style, I'll be unstoppable.»
As his reunited eyes adjusted, his chakra flowed smoother—unburdened by the Rinnegan's constant drain.
"I'll store this for now," he decided, examining the prized eye in his palm. "No imminent threats... yet."
With a flick of his wrist, he sealed the Rinnegan in a hidden compartment within Kamui's dimension. Its time would come—but first, he'd hone what he already possessed.
"Let's test this," he announced, weaving hand signs.
Two Wood Clones erupted from the earth—their bodies woven from living fibers, perfectly mirroring his form.
"Good," he approved. "I don't need allies for this. Like Shadow Clones, but with Wood Release as the foundation."
These replicas were superior. He recalled how Madara had summoned Susanoo through them—a possibility that ignited his ambition.
"Imagine combining these with my Susanoo," he mused, a dark smile curling his lips. "The results would be... catastrophic."
Pushing Limits
Training intensified as Obito adapted to his original self's capabilities. Though he'd inherited all memories, Kamui's right-eye variant remained unfamiliar.
"Ideally, I'd test this against a real opponent," he grunted, dodging a clone's kunai barrage. "But wood puppets will suffice."
His right Sharingan pulsed. Space distorted—
—and a clone's head toppled cleanly from its shoulders.
"So that's how it works," he observed, recalling Kakashi's battles. "Devastating when paired with Susanoo."
Dismissing the clones flooded his mind with their memories. He clutched his temple as vertigo struck.
"Too intense... Two or three clones max for now."
The advantage was clear: if these clones could mimic Shadow Clones' intel-sharing, they'd be invaluable.
«I lack Naruto's bottomless chakra for an army of clones... but my reserves are substantial. And time? I have nothing but time to improve.»
He extended his palm. A slender branch sprouted from his skin, twisting with sentient grace.
«Madara created entire forests with this,» he noted, equal parts awed and frustrated. «I'm struggling with two clones.»
Self-criticism faded into resolve. If this power was his to inherit, he'd master it—just as he'd mastered Kamui and the agony of his losses.
Synchronized Assault
"Again."
The remaining clones attacked in flawless sync. Shuriken rained as the second clone weaved fire-style signs. Obito dodged with calculated precision, his Sharingan predicting every trajectory.
"Good. Now—"
His right eye flared. Space fractured—
—and the second clone's torso vanished mid-leap, severed by Kamui's dimensional slash.
"Efficient," he noted. "But I'm rushing. I have eternity to grow stronger."
