Hey friends! New chapter coming soon! (Not the best quality, I wanted to scrap the romance angle. I tried making a point but... yeah, I think this kills any romance in this story. Unless you give me ideas for a pairing people would actually like - then I might do it!)

Graveyard of Regrets
A gentle wind whispered through the tombstones of Konoha's cemetery, carrying away the heavy silence between Obito Uchiha and Ino Yamanaka. Obito stood frozen before Rin Nohara's grave, his gaze locked on the carved stone. Though his tears had dried, the ache in his chest remained as raw as ever.
Ino watched from a few steps back, her expression caught between concern and compassion. She knew the weight he carried—and that he didn't have to carry it alone.
"Obito," she said, her voice soft yet unwavering. "You don't have to do this alone. You don't have to stay chained to the past."
Obito didn't answer immediately. Guilt, regret, and doubt warred inside him—Rin's death, the world he'd broken, the lives he'd ruined—all of it coiled around him like chains he could never shed.
"Ino," he finally replied, still staring at the grave. "You don't understand. You can't understand. What I've done... is unforgivable. I don't deserve your friendship, let alone anything more."
Ino stepped forward, closing the distance with quiet determination.
"You don't have to bear that weight alone," she said, firm yet tender. "Everyone makes mistakes, Obito. What matters is what you do next. You've been trying to make things right—that counts."
Obito shut his eyes, her words echoing in his mind. It was tempting—too tempting—to believe in second chances. But did he deserve one?
"It's not enough," he whispered hoarsely. "Nothing I do will undo the damage. Rin, the world... everything I destroyed. I can't just... move on like it never happened."
Ino's gaze never wavered. Understanding and resolve burned in her eyes.
"I'm not asking you to forget," she murmured. "Just... stop punishing yourself forever. You deserve a second chance, Obito. And if you'll let me... I want to help you find it."
A lump formed in Obito's throat. Ino's words were sincere, brimming with a kindness he couldn't fathom earning. But could he accept it? Could he allow himself even a moment of happiness?
"Ino..." His voice trembled. "You're incredible. Truly. But I can't. I won't drag you into my darkness. I won't let you suffer for my sins."
Ino smiled, though her eyes glistened.
"You wouldn't be dragging me anywhere, Obito," she said firmly. "I'm choosing to be here. With you."
Obito clenched his jaw, torn apart by the storm inside him. He wanted to say yes. He wanted to take the hand she offered. But the guilt was too heavy.
"I'm sorry, Ino," he said at last, quiet but final. "I can't. Not now. Maybe... not ever."
For a heartbeat, Ino searched his face—waiting, hoping. But Obito didn't relent. With a sad smile, she nodded.
"Okay, Obito," she whispered. "But when you're ready... I'll still be here."
With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Obito alone with his ghosts.
Farewell to the Past
Obito remained, staring at Rin's grave as the night's chill settled around him. He knew he'd made the right choice—yet the pain remained. Ino deserved better than a man drowning in regret.
"Maybe in another life," he murmured to the sky. "But not this one."
As he moved to leave, he paused one last time before Rin's tombstone. His fingers brushed the engraved name, bitterness and longing twisting in his chest.
"Even now, Rin... you still hold my heart hostage," he muttered, voice thick with sorrow. "After all this time, after everything I've done... you're still here. In my mind. In my soul. When will I finally be free?"
A correction flashed through his thoughts: No—not me. Obito's feelings for Rin. They're too strong.
The wind rustled the leaves, a wordless reply. Obito exhaled, letting the weight of his emotions settle. Rin would always be part of him—but he couldn't let the past dictate his future.
"Goodbye, Rin," he whispered, casting a final glance at the grave. "Maybe one day... I'll learn how to move forward. But for now... this is who I am."
With a heavy heart but unshaken resolve, Obito turned away—ready to face whatever future awaited. The road ahead would be lonely... but it was the only path he could take.
