The next morning, Leon woke up feeling extremely refreshed. It was as though he had been reborn anew.
His mind has always been clear ever since he drew the Qubit tattoo, however this felt different. It felt almost as though he was in some form of zen mode or something.
He couldn't quite place exactly what had changed but his mind was or at least felt clearer than it has ever been before. There was the weird strength that filled him up, that made him feel Invincible for some reason.
It was weird, his thoughts were still as fragmented as they were just now seemed more complete for some reason. As if it was chaos within a controlled structure or channeled chaos if you will.
He couldn't explain it but it wasn't a problem for now, looking beside him he could see a pair of blue orbs staring at him with a bright smile on their lips.
"You know this isn't a bad sight to wake up to every morning" Leon said as he immediately pulled her closer to him but both still remained in their position.
"then marry me" Grace said without hesitation
"I plan to and I will but we both must be of legal age" Leon replied with a smile
This conversation had become a repeating constant in his life as of recent and he for some reason it brought him comfort beyond measure.
"You're just chickening out again"
"True but no priest or pastor would wed two underaged kids talk more, a court" Leon replied as he kissed her forehead before standing up from the bed
As soon as he did, he felt a slight disorientation, almost as though the body wasn't his then came the noise. Voices from nowhere, memories and more flooded his head but thankfully he was more than equipped to handle them.
He sorted and discarded them before immediately sealing up his mind to prevent further intrusion. Turning to Grace who was now seated on the bed
"So how do you feel after yesterday, I see the ring is working fine" Leon asked as he examined his middle finger.
Visibly there was nothing there nor was there any pain, if not for the fact that he could feel its effects and was the one who had drawn it… HeHe wouldn't know there was even a tattoo there to begin with.
"I don't know, you tell me… Apart from your weird thinking style, everything else seems normal" She said but Leon chuckled
"Whats that about?" Grace asked
"You know this room has no light source at the moment" Leon said as he went ahead to switch the lights on and pointed at the windows which were fully closed
"Wait so I could see in the dark?" Grace asked surprised
"Yes but not exactly, a more proper answer would be that your brain can now effectively process all the light that your eyes receive, I want you to understand that from the moment your thoughts fragmented, you ultimately became a whole different person" Leon warned.
The greatest sin one could commit in his eyes was the misuse of power but to have power and not know how to use it. Misusing one's powers constituted a situation whereby you know how to use your powers but chose to use it in the wrong ways. However not knowing how to use your powers was a whole new level of incompetence that he couldn't accept.
"You always seemed normal so I didn't think much of it you know" She confessed
"Well normal is subjective, now it's time for light training" Leon said as he picked up his tablet and the stylus that came with it and handed it to her.
"Whats this for?"
"One of the major effects of the Qubit tattoo is that it speeds up mastery of any skill or ability you have. However that comes at the cost of numbing your emotions" Leon began as he sat beside her
"So for training, writing is recommended... It not only puts you in a situation where your now otherwise perfect intelligence has to meet an obstacle that confound us all... It also helps reactivate numbed emotions" He continued
"Thats all?" Grace asked surprised
