Chapter 27 - Plans

Leon dropped her off before leaving for his shop. For the first time in two lives, Leon could say he had businesses somewhere that generated income for him.

He had a total of five tattoo shops across different states in the US that generated around $20,000 in revenue each month.

Visiting the one closest, Leon did nothing but sit there for a few hours before driving home.

He had managers who were in charge of ensuring stability and the prosperity of the shops, so he didn't need to actually check on it—just ensure that things were working as intended.

He also couldn't actually tattoo anyone due to his powers, so he was just acting as an overseer.

However, to experiment, he gathered a few materials before he left. Since everything was going smoothly, there was no need for him to wait around any longer.

Heading back home, Leon dropped by the orphanage to see everyone. After all, it had been long since he was there. Branching off at a supermarket, he bought a bunch of things he thought the children would like and a few more for the nuns.

As soon as he got home, Leon immediately dropped the tattoo supplies he had brought with him and picked up a piece of paper. Truthfully, he was ready to make a permanent tattoo today, but then he had no idea what to do.

"Power or smarts?" Leon asked himself as he rested by his window.

No matter which he chose, both would absolutely take him to a position never seen before and grant him powers never seen before.

"Wait, I haven't even gotten any ideas for the two."

For smarts, the most logical choice was to draw something computer-related, and though he had lost most of his past memories, there was one that he had never forgotten... well, he had forgotten, but he had written down the fascinating idea.

"Can't I just draw a qubit? That should drastically increase my intellect," Leon asked himself.

It was the magnificent idea that he had kept with him all these years. The concept of qubits was so fascinating that he had to write down the idea. However, after searching for anything on it in this world, he found nothing.

He understood how qubits worked and all, but he had no idea what the result was, so on his part, this would be a risky move.

"Wait?" Leon realized something.

Quickly rushing to his art room, he pulled out a small notepad and immediately began to draw. Starting with the general shape of an atom, Leon added all the electrons, and at the center, he added a weird drawing that was supposed to represent 0 and 1 in a state of quantum superposition.

As soon as he was done, he felt a slight drain on his mental stamina, but he was okay enough to stand and move around. Standing aside, Leon was hit with full subliminal effects.

Leon felt himself staring at an ever-changing substance. He couldn't tell what it was, but he could identify it as a qubit. Once observed, Leon saw the qubit reshape itself permanently as immediately the 'camera' zoomed out for him to several hundred other qubits being observed as well.

Each one exploring a different path until a calculation was done at a speed far beyond your regular computer. Seeing this, Leon smiled, as this meant that he could actually draw it in this world, and its effect would take place.

"Wait, wouldn't this also mean that I can help advance the technology of this world?" Leon realized the meaning of the drawing.

If he used methods like this, people wouldn't need to go about doing research and all that. They would just stare at his painting to see if their concept was correct or not.

"If that's to happen, then I need to go to the top," Leon thought to himself.

As for power, he would figure it out later, and besides, he had options to pick from. Glancing at a book that was sitting on the desk beside him.

His reincarnation wasn't all that free of cost and easygoing. It had come at a great cost to him... his memories. Now that he thought about it, he was only able to officially get together with Grace because he had forgotten his age... at least his former self.

Ever since he reincarnated, he had been losing memories slowly, though he hadn't noticed it until recently, hence the book. He wasn't someone who wasted time and energy going through some existential crisis.
