Having been caught red-handed, Hermione simply abandoned all pretense and went all out, boldly exploring Glenn with her hands. She even wanted to continue cuddling with Glenn in bed for a while longer, but Glenn ruthlessly refused all of this.
"Most of today has already passed. If we don't get up now, this entire Saturday will completely disappear."
"And we can't keep lying here, or you won't be able to sleep tonight."
Extracting Hermione's hands from under his clothes, the little girl gave an embarrassed laugh and didn't continue her mischief. The two began their morning routine.
"But regarding some things you said yesterday, there's one point I'm very curious about, though I never had a chance to bring it up later."
Using a warm towel to wipe her face, Hermione revealed her large brown eyes, staring at Glenn with curiosity.
"According to what you said yesterday, in your previous life, the development of various things in the world seemed much more advanced than now. And those surveillance systems, various devices, and firearms were all like that too."
"Mm, you're thinking correctly."
Glenn finished cleaning the towel he'd used on his face, dried it with a spell, and placed it in his black ring.
"The year I died was 2021. From a temporal perspective, it's actually the future compared to this current moment."
"I knew it... but why?"
Hermione nodded, resting her chin on her hand as she began to think.
According to common sense, or the general public's understanding, things develop forward—even time itself, one of the fundamental laws of this world, is no exception.
Wait, there do seem to be certain things that exist outside of common logic.
That would be magic.
"Could it be... time magic?"
There seemed to be magic that could reverse time, but it would come at a great cost, and basically no one could cast it. Moreover, there were significant limitations on the spell's effectiveness.
Hermione had only seen this content mentioned in a book, where the author merely touched on it briefly with very ambiguous content. If it weren't for the fact that the book's author had very authoritative credentials in the wizarding world, Hermione would likely have treated this information as fabricated nonsense.
After all, is time really something humans can defy?
Could those supposed events of turning back time to return to the past and change outcomes actually happen?
Highly unlikely.
At least, that's what Hermione believed.
"I don't think this has anything to do with magic."
Glenn said with certainty.
"After learning that magic exists in this world and truly witnessing this power, especially after we visited the Dragon Kingdom, I ruled out this factor."
"I had never seen or perceived anything related to magic in the world I lived in before."
The contrast was quite obvious.
During Glenn's time as Agent Thirteen in his previous life's twenty-first-century Dragon Kingdom, he had never collected or observed anything related to the Dragon Kingdom's mystical arts.
This was different from the scenery and phenomena he had observed in the Dragon Kingdom he'd visited in this life.
In this world's Dragon Kingdom, mystical arts had long been integrated into people's daily lives, and legends about sorcerers were widely circulated among the people.
What Glenn had seen in his previous life was completely different from this situation.
That was an age of science—whether magic or mystical arts, such idealistic forces didn't exist.
On the surface, basically everyone was a firm materialist.
The same was true in the shadows. At the very least, none of the people Glenn had killed could perform any extraordinary magical powers.
"Rather than temporal changes, I'm more inclined to believe my situation is being reborn in a different world from my previous life."
"I've heard of a theory before—parallel universes, or parallel worlds. I haven't delved too deeply into understanding its terminology, but roughly it can be described as: similar worlds that differ in certain aspects."
"Wow... that really is quite magical."
Hermione appeared to be working very hard to understand Glenn's words, blinking her eyes. It seemed these concepts couldn't yet reconcile with the knowledge Hermione herself possessed.
"Don't worry too much about it. This is just my personal speculation. Actually, there's no need to get tangled up in these matters, since the current me is standing right here, in this world."
Glenn shrugged. His curiosity wasn't as great as Hermione's, and moreover, these matters were merely about the connection between his past and present lives—knowledge whose necessity was optional.
Compared to the past, Glenn cared more about and valued the present.
Just live well in the now—why bother with the past?
"That's true, but I haven't heard enough about those future-like things interspersed throughout your experiences. You'll have to tell me more later."
Finding Glenn's reasoning sound, Hermione stopped dwelling on it excessively.
But Hermione was still quite curious about those super-fresh things that didn't exist in this era. After enduring the negative emotional bombardment from Glenn's personal experiences yesterday, Hermione felt she urgently needed some fresh things to improve her mood.
However, besides that, the most important thing was still...
"As you said, I won't interfere with what you did before, and I don't plan to comment much on it. But from now on, when you make a decision and prepare to act, remember to let me evaluate it."
Hermione raised her finger and tapped Glenn's nose tip.
"No matter what, killing people is wrong. If it's not those guys who endanger the people around us, directly killing them is better passed on. Subduing them and letting adults manage them is the best choice."
"But when encountering those truly dangerous ones, even those who pose threats to Dad, Mom, and the others... I think not only you, but even I would directly choose lethal force... During the time I've been with you, plus after hearing your account last night, I estimate I've been influenced by you to some degree."
Hermione looked down at her own hands, muttering.
"But the past is the past, and now is now. Previously, you had no one to tell you correct concepts. Now I'll compensate for that and teach you, so you have to obediently listen to me, okay?"
"Actually, from my observations, everyone's concepts are more or less influenced by their own subjectivity, so the correct concepts you speak of, Hermione, might not necessarily be truly correct either."
"Just say whether you'll listen or not."
Hermione pinned Glenn against the wall, her face flushed as she spoke firmly.
This was the one point where Hermione believed she was necessary and absolutely had to guide Glenn.
"I'll listen."
