This sleep lasted half a day.
Glenn woke naturally—but unlike his usual pattern of awakening at precise intervals due to his body's conditioning, this sleep brought him an unprecedented sense of refreshment.
He was truly, completely rested. Every cell in his body felt recharged, and only after he'd gotten enough sleep did his brain automatically power on.
During this entire sleep, he hadn't been startled awake even once by the slightest disturbance around him.
This was the kind of sleep only possible when all physical and mental defenses were completely lowered.
Of course, this was his first such experience in two lifetimes.
"Perhaps I was a bit too relaxed."
He was still somewhat dazed. Having finally gotten adequate rest, Glenn's brain wasn't quite adapted to this feeling of complete physical and mental satisfaction. He felt his thinking had slowed considerably.
Glenn decisively cast a silent Pepper-Up Charm on himself, which made him feel somewhat more at ease.
Looking down at his arms, he saw a fluffy brown bundle curled up there.
Glenn vaguely remembered that he and Hermione's positions should have been reversed when they fell asleep, yet somehow they'd switched places upon waking.
The fact that such a change in their positions hadn't disturbed him was truly inexcusable.
Glenn reflected on this, though not a single muscle in his body trembled with his awakening.
Based on his mental timekeeping from when he was still conscious last night, he and Hermione had talked until 4:13 AM—far beyond Hermione's long-maintained habit of early bedtimes.
She'd really gone out of her way to keep him company until that hour last night.
But now there was a problem: having entered such deep sleep last night, he had no idea how much time had actually passed since awakening.
For the former Glenn, this would have been an intolerable and absolutely unacceptable major error.
Though last night's events were special because they involved Hermione...
...So he'd let it slide.
"Clock."
This concept appeared in Glenn's mind, and he reshaped its form in his thoughts while casting a Silencing Charm toward the wall.
Then he closed his eyes, activated his enhanced senses, and directed his perception toward a previously empty section of wall.
The clock he'd just imagined in his mind had appeared on the wall, its second hand ticking steadily.
"5:10 PM... twelve hours and fifty-seven minutes of sleep. That really was quite a long rest."
"But Hermione doesn't seem to show any signs of waking yet... wait."
Glenn thought this, then negated his own assumption.
Hermione's heartbeat had quickened.
And though it was only for an instant, Glenn still caught the slight flutter of Hermione's eyelashes.
She should already be awake.
So then...
"No movement at all..."
Just as Glenn was thinking, Hermione had gradually awakened earlier, but just as she was about to open her eyes, she caught Glenn's scent.
And it was very close.
Restraining her movements, Hermione took a moment to sense her and Glenn's positions.
"Really, I had planned to maintain that position and keep holding Glenn until I woke up. How did I end up in his arms instead?"
Hermione felt somewhat annoyed at this situation.
But more than that, certain mischievous thoughts were stirring in her mind.
"Glenn doesn't seem to be awake either. He also said that because of his experiences, he's never had a proper night's sleep even once. Last night I secretly used the Saint's power to temporarily dispel the pressure accumulated in Glenn's heart, and I also secretly added some Draught of Living Death to help him fall asleep quickly. He should still be sleeping."
"Last night, although I wanted to hear his secrets first, I also served as a proper emotional memory dump, comforting Glenn. So now... asking for some... reward—no, compensation—isn't excessive, right?"
"Just a little bit."
Hermione kept convincing herself, then carefully maintained the stability of her arms while extracting one hand from between her chest and Glenn, slowly, slowly sliding it downward.
Sliding sliding
Her little hand reached the hem of Glenn's pajamas.
After hesitating for a moment, Hermione's small hand resolutely slipped under Glenn's shirt from the hem, and then...
She placed her palm directly on Glenn's equally smooth abdomen.
Oh yes, Glenn's abs!
Both shy and delighted, Hermione gently explored Glenn's abdominal muscles with her small hand.
As expected of Glenn—what a fantastic physique~
Beneath his taut skin, those sculpted muscle blocks were clearly defined to the touch. Currently in a relaxed state, the muscle groups didn't display the tense hardness they would when flexed, but rather a supple and highly elastic comfortable texture.
Glenn had mentioned last night that compared to pure physical strength, he focused more on balanced improvement throughout his body, so flexibility and agility training were also indispensable parts of his routine.
Therefore, the muscles beneath Glenn's clothes weren't bulky. Combined with his daily suppression of the Obscurus within him, he actually appeared quite lean, but with an indescribable sense of fluidity.
A gentle press returned nothing but an incredibly smooth, springy sensation to Hermione's fingertips.
Hermione's natural post-sleep contentment was elevated even further by this discovery.
Petting Crookshanks gave Hermione one kind of experience, but touching Glenn provided an entirely different one.
A completely new experience~
"Wow, this is really amazing..."
The more she explored, the more Hermione marveled silently.
Human muscles aren't actually perfectly symmetrical—they're somewhat affected by genetics and uneven force distribution during training, becoming slightly distorted and asymmetrical.
But Hermione was amazed to discover that Glenn's upper body muscles—whether abs or chest—were perfectly symmetrical~
It was true! Hermione had even secretly used magic to measure them. Using Glenn's body center as an axis, the muscles on both sides were completely identical in both size and shape.
Truly astonishing.
With the spirit of scientific research, Hermione carefully caressed every inch of Glenn's upper torso, seriously experiencing the sensations those muscles transmitted to her fingertips.
Impossible. I don't believe Glenn's muscles are completely symmetrical. I must not have examined them carefully enough.
"Should I touch them again?"
"Mm, you make a good point."
Hermione responded as such.
Then she realized that the words she'd just answered didn't seem to come from within her own mind.
The girl's hand froze inside Glenn's shirt, and she slowly looked up like a malfunctioning automaton, meeting Glenn's black eyes that had already opened beneath his messy hair.
"Wh—when did you start watching?"
"When you first woke up."
"If I said I'm not actually awake yet and am just sleepwalking, would you believe me?"
"No. Every aspect of your body and physiological activity right now indicates you're in a completely conscious state."
"And quite excited, at that."
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh, shut up already!!!!!!"
