Chapter 11 - The Departure of the Eldest Lady Reinhardt

Third person pov

It has been a week since the departure of the three ladies for their family lands.

Diara has been preparing for her departure as well.

To her fiancèe's home.

The Grand Duchy of Diris.

Looking at herself on her mirror for the last time, she could not help but sigh.

At last, she is to move to a foreign home.

Where she does not know anything or anyone, except for her husband to be and her friend.

As she was lost in thought, her mother came into her room with a worried expression.

"My darling daughter Dia", the Duchess uttered, breaking Diara's line of thoughts.

She turned and lowered her head, as a sign of respect for her mother.

"Mother, how come you are here? I had thought you will be downstairs with father and my dearest siblings, Denzel and Diena?", Diara asked, expression as calm as can be.

Her mother, with such gentle hands, guided her to sit on her bed with her.

"I had to say one last thing before you depart from us, my dearest Dia.", the Duchess said as she looked at Diara straight into her eyes whilst having such gentle smile on her lips.

Diara did not speak, but listened.

"Marriage, in our lives, are but a small piece of puzzle, yet it is something we might lose our senses because of it. For our society, marriage is only an alliance, a trade, something people can benefit from. But I do not wish that for you, my Dia. What I want, is for you to always be happy, to follow your goals, your dreams. But we cannot force you if you had already decided what path you want to take. Your father and I will always support you, Dia. No matter what path you choose or take, we will always support you.", the Duchess spoke and paused.

Diara only listened intently, for she knows, what her mother is saying, is the one advice she knew she had needed before departing from her home.

"You have been in several battles and won, haven't you?", the Duchess said.

Diara nodded.

"You are strong Dia. You are extraordinary. Ever since you are but a child, you have always known what you want, your dreams, your goals, and even your own path to take. I am certain you know what you are doing. Visit sometime in the future, alright?", said the Duchess with tears slowly forming in her eyes.

Diara nodded to her and embraced her mother.

The mother and daughter had a talk for a short while, until a servant had told them it was time for her departure.

They walked downstairs.

As they reached the humongous door of the manor, Diara felt a sense of nostalgia.

She looked back to her beloved home, bowed, as if it was her way of saying her goodbye to the house she was raised.

OUTSIDE THE MANOR

A black elegant carriage could be seen in front of the manor, ready to send Diara to her new home.

"Sister, you must visit frequently, alright?", Diena, her youngest sister uttered whilst looking at her with a solemn expression, her usual poker face not visible.

"Diena is right sister. You must visit frequently.", Denzel, her youngest brother, declared as he tried his best not to look as "foolish" as his twin sister.

Diara chuckled and ruffled each of their hairs.

"I definitely will. I will be visiting frequently to see how your studies are progressing. Do not forget you two, you are both heirs to our Duchy and the house of Vesperia. I will be strict on that still.", Diara threatened which made her siblings nod.

Satisfied with their responses, she smiled at them.

Her father did not say anything, not a word, but she already know what he wanted to say.

She only nodded to her father, and with one last look of her home and her family, she entered the carriage, driving away from them until they vanished in her sights.

Diara sighed and leaned her head on the carriage window, expression changing instantly as she noticed it.

"Oh this will not be a smooth ride. ", she uttered to herself and redied her sword.

"Let's just have some fun I suppose.", she said with a smile, not so lovely, but deadly.
