In Bonnie's house, she and Caroline were sitting on the couch, reminiscing over times gone by.

"I still can't believe she's gone, you know?" said Caroline, swirling her drink before downing it.

"I know," said Bonnie, wiping a stray tear for her fallen friends.

"I always used to think the world revolved around her. Little did I know it was a curse," said Caroline.

"Yeah," said Bonnie, downing her drink. Her phone pinged with a message.

"Who is it?" asked Caroline, seeing Bonnie stare at it.

"Kol, he's on his way," said Bonnie.

"Well, tell him to buzz off. We both could use a break from all things supernatural," said Caroline.

Bonnie snorted, "Easier said than done."

A knock on the door alerted them to his presence as he let himself in.

Kol walked in with the usual grin. "Hello darlings. We have work to do."

"Ugh, can't you see this is a bad time? Get out of here," said Caroline, sticking out her hand as if trying to erase his existence.

"You forget yourself blondie," said Kol, swatting it out of the way.

"Hey!" she cried, nursing her hand.

Bonnie narrowed her eyes. "As do you," raising her hand and squeezing.

And just when he thought they were getting along, he had to let his anger get the best of him.

He dropped to his knees, clutching his head. "Argh, fuck, I apologize, we're all on the same side," he pleaded.

Caroline scoffed, "Says you," as Bonnie released her magic hold on his brain.

Rising to his feet, he rubbed his head soothingly. "What was the point of teaching you all that magic if you're just going to resort to that every time?"

Bonnie shrugged, "It's the quickest and easiest way to deal with your lot."

"Well, you'll get no arguments here," said Kol.

"Go away, Kol. Can't you see we're in mourning? " Caroline said, flinging a small couch pillow at him.

Ignoring the pillow as it bounced harmlessly off him, Kol said, "While I do appreciate your position, do know I will be ignoring it. Time waits for no one, and we are rapidly running out. It's time Bonnie masters Kemiya before I leave."

Bonnie frowned. "Leave? Where are you going?"

"Klaus says he's feeling sentimental for our old home in New Orleans, the only place we've ever put down roots for any lengthy period of time. Why he's actually going is anybody's guess," said Kol.

"New Orleans?" repeated Bonnie as if testing the name on her tongue.

"Yes, yes. I brought the Paragon Diamond. It's time you put what I've shown you to the test," said Kol, pulling out the Diamond from his pocket.

"And you're sure this is safe?" asked Caroline worriedly, wanting to keep her only friend left from harm.

"Perfectly," answered Kol, handing it over to Bonnie.

"Don't worry Care. I've practiced," said Bonnie, summoning the hidden silver dagger and others for use.

"Practiced, practiced how?" asked Kol, intrigued.

"Using what you taught me on a smaller scale that didn't require much power. I first started with water, the easiest element to manipulate, changing its properties from liquid to solid to gas. It was good practice before I tried tougher elements. I've also thoroughly examined the silver dagger and now know it like the back of my hand. Recreating one should be easy," Bonnie explained.

"You're amazing. With any luck, you'll finish before I need to leave," said Kol encouragingly.

Bonnie gave a strained grin as she got to work.

Time passed, and she finally succeeded.

"I did it!" Bonnie exclaimed. Alerting the other two who had left her alone to work in peace.

"You did?" asked Caroline, appearing in a flash along with Kol.

"Mhm," said Bonnie, showing a second silver dagger next to the original, though neither could tell them apart.

"The hardest part was learning how to work with the Diamond," Bonnie explained.

"Amazing," repeated Kol, impressed.

"Brave enough to try it?" asked Bonnie, picking up the dagger replica.

"Please, do you know who you're talking to? I once fought a tiger for fun," Kol scoffed, snatching the dagger out of her hands.

He then stopped short of stabbing himself and frowned.

"Well, oh fearless one, don't tell me you're chickening out now?" Caroline mocked.

"No, we have a problem; we forgot something crucial," said Kol.

"What?" asked Bonnie.

"Ash, we forgot the white oak ash," Kol sighed. "No point now without any ash. I was planning on nicking some from Klaus, but that all went up in flames, quite literally."

"Are you serious? Now what do we do?" asked Caroline.

"Plan B," said Bonnie without missing a beat.

"And what is plan B?" asked Caroline.

"I found the spell that my mother used to desiccate Michael and trap him," said Bonnie.

"You mean the one that killed her? Bonnie, you can't do that," said Caroline vehemently.

"I'll be fine Care. I'm stronger than they ever were," said Bonnie confidently.

"Careful luv. Arrogance can lead to disaster, especially where magic is concerned," said Kol.

"It's not arrogance. I have grown and learned much. I can do this," said Bonnie assuredly.

"Bonnie, please think about this. Elena wouldn't want you to waste your life because of her," said Caroline.

"This is about more than just Elena, or are you so far gone that you do not care for all the lives I would be saving by doing this?" said Bonnie.

"That's not fair," Caroline whined, but Bonnie didn't care.

"You might not have to. Your plan B suggestion reminded me of the one I had in the past, another relic I had made in case the dagger failed, and it just so happens I had it made in New Orleans, so with any luck, it'll still be there," said Kol.

"I'm coming with you; you'll never find it without me," said Bonnie decisively.

"Absolutely not!" said Caroline unhappily, "Don't throw your life away, you still have so much to live for."

"This is my life!" snapped Bonnie firmly.

"She's right luv, but if you still want to follow, you'll have to find your own way. I'm not taking you alongside Klaus, that'd be suicide," said Kol.

"Wait, all we need is ash, right? Can't we, I don't know, go to the Salvatore's and summon some or something? I mean it just burned down not long ago," said Caroline, thinking out of desperation to protect her friend from her self-sacrificial habit.

Bonnie blinked in surprise at Caroline, along with Kol.

"Caroline, you're a genius. I'll go out back and summon some now," said Bonnie, heading for the door. Outside, she drew a magical circle and began her chant.

Caroline grinned.

Kol smacked his forehead, rubbing his face embarrassingly. "Unbelievable, I can't believe I didn't think of that."

"Wait a second, you said the Salvatore's. You lied to me then. There was more white oak hidden away," Kol accused angrily.

Caroline rolled her eyes. "Like it matters now."

Minutes later, Bonnie returned with enough ash for multiple tries. "It worked!"

"Great! Now, all you need to do is turn one of the daggers gold for Klaus," said Kol.

With that done, Kol took his new golden dagger and headed out.

"I must leave now. Should you still wish to follow us to New Orleans, prepare yourself, for I fear that getting this golden dagger in him won't be easy," said Kol expectantly.

"I'm afraid Klaus is only my second priority now, bait for the one who comes for him. Finn is the one I want, and I'll see him dead if it's the last thing I do," Bonnie growled.

"Then keep the diamond safe. I doubt it'll be easy to find another," said Kol. "Speaking of Finn, did you see if you can track him through the silver dagger?"

"I tried, but it didn't work," said Bonnie, frustrated.

"It's okay, Bonnie. We'll figure something out," said Caroline, wrapping a comforting arm around her.

"Yeah," said Bonnie, leaning into it.
