Heather Johnson - POV
The nurse walked out just as I left the emergency room, my heart pounding in my chest. I made my way down the dimly lit hallway, each step heavy with anxiety. When I reached Dr. Jenkins's office, I pressed my ear against the door, my breath hitching.
"It's pretty late, Mrs. Perez. Did you inform Beta Perez about this?" I heard Dr. Jenkins ask, her tone serious.
"No, Heather might already be suspicious about what's happening in this pack. If I ask Zander to come in at this hour, it would only raise more questions," Aurora replied, her voice strained with worry.
"You're right. Did you experience anything else apart from the light bleeding?" Dr. Jenkins continued, her concern palpable.
"No, but the pain in my abdomen doesn't seem to decrease," Aurora admitted, her voice trembling with fear.
