Aurora James - POV
"It could mean a number of things, but we'll need to monitor it closely," she replied, her fingers dancing over the keyboard as she adjusted the machine. "Sometimes the baby is just in a position that makes it harder to detect the heartbeat clearly."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. "So there's still hope?" I asked, looking up at her, my eyes wide with fear.
"Absolutely. Let's not jump to conclusions just yet," she assured me, her tone soothing. "I'll get the ultrasound technician in here to do a more thorough scan."
As she stepped out to call for help, I turned to Zander, feeling the weight of his gaze on me. "I can't lose this baby, Zander. I can't," I whispered, my voice cracking.
He took my hands in his, his grip firm and reassuring. "You won't lose this baby. We'll get through this together, Aurora. I promise," he said, his eyes filled with determination.
