Aurora James - POV
The SUVs screeched to a halt in front of us, and the doors swung open. Warriors poured out of the vehicles, along with Zander and Adrian. Zander rushed to my side, pulling me into a fierce hug. He didn't even ask any questions; he just held me tightly, relief flooding his features.
I could feel his strong heartbeat against the thin fabric of his t-shirt when he finally pulled away. "When I felt your fear through the bond, I thought I almost lost you," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
"I took care of them, Zander," I pointed out, stepping back to give him a clearer view of my injuries. His protective stance returned as his eyes roamed over my body. Each time he spotted a scratch or wound, his gaze narrowed into slits, lingering especially on my stomach. He moved closer, placing his hand on my belly, closing his eyes as if trying to sense the life within.
