Rose Slayer slowed down before she fully stopped walking. She took a deep breath, thinking about Ayed's advice, the way Night Hound reminded her about Vincencio, and about what she heard from Shana.
'He's something you may not understand if you're a human.'
She wanted to cry and shout about what clicked inside her mind, but chose not to. She wanted something, and maybe she would hear them once she did something to make it fall into her favor.
"Remember our deal, Night Hound. Don't make me choose." She firmly said, trying to hide what she had learned.
"I am not." He said with assurance, making Rose Slayer calm down, but not when Shana called him.
"You're wife is really something, Lone Alpha." Without ill intention, Shana commented, making Night Hound growl.
"Lone Alpha...so he's an alpha..." She thought before another thought flashed in her mind, making her piss off. "Why didn't he bother to tell me about him being an Alpha?"
"But why didn't you tell her about all of this, Vincencio? Isn't she your wife?" Shana innocently wondered about his stupidity before adding her disappointed sigh. "You should trust her and her love for you."
"SHANA." Night Hound growled warningly, snapping Shana from her out loud thoughts.
"Oh, thank God, they're the same person." Rose Slayer thought in relief about Shana's confirmation. But she wanted to hear it loud and clear from him. "But I need to hear all of them from him. I have to make him confess like what he did to me."
"What? Did I say something wrong?" Shana asked, faking her innocent tone this time before grinning.
"What did you call him?" With a curious frown, Rose Slayer asked coldly as she joined their conversation.
Shana and Night Hound didn't say anything, which clearly clarified his truth. Rose Slayer already got it, but she wanted to hear it directly from him without any filter from others.
"Tell me, or I'll make sure this port will turn into a bloodbath field." Rose Slayer grimaced before adding her imperious warning, "Trust me, I can do that. I'm very great at it."
"I don't want to get killed." After a flinch, Shana said, quivering.
"Shana, quiet." Night Hough quickly warned Shana. Shana was skeptical, but Rose Slayer was more dangerous than Night Hound at the moment.
"He's indirectly answering me already based on how he stops her from telling me. But let's see how you're going to keep it from me, Hubby." She thought carefully before turning cold and grimacing at Shana. "Don't mind him and tell me."
"You two were killing me." She sighed, a little bit torn between two dangerous people she had ever met, before turning to Night Hound. "Be truthful to her, Vincencio."
"Shana." Night Hound growled warningly at her.
Shana flinched in fright because he was furious, but Rose Slayer stepped in between, making her feel protected.
"Leave." Rose Slayer commanded coldly, making Shana surprisingly submit.
"Damn, you're indeed his Luna." Shana sighed before walking away and softly added. "Be easy on him, Skylar. He's scared."
Rose Slayer glanced over her shoulder, acknowledging Shana's thought before focusing on her secretive husband.
As they were completely isolated and alone in the backyard's office, the tension between them was thickening. Only the port's noises played in the background as none of them tried to speak until Rose Slayer vanished from her spot.
"Don't even start with a lie or a reason when I've been considering the possibilities you and my husband are one." Rose Slayer said grimly as she appeared and gave Night Hound a surprising roundhouse kick.
Night Hound stumbled from the heavy force that Rose Slayer released, making his mask fall off in the process. Vincencio's face showed up, and Rose Slayer was not even surprised anymore. He wiped the corner of his lips, amused but did not show it, apart from a surprised look.
"You knew?" he softly wondered.
Rose Slayer sadly chuckled, and again, she appeared to his side to give him two combo punches that he quickly blocked. But again, the impact was heavy, making his defense breaks.
"Encountering werewolves made me think about your overly clingy side, your temper, and your throaty growl." She answered coldly before giving him another shot of combo from random kicks to punches that have been coming in different angles. Night Hound could not predict them. "That woman and your words just confirmed it."
"And you're being like this, attacking me because of it?" Vincencio asked as he kept blocking and dodging all of her attacks.
"No. I'm not mad about you hiding the fact that my husband is the Night Hound of MG." Rose Slayer replied coldly as she kept raining random attacks from each of Vincencio's sides. They were getting heavier each time they made contact.
"Then what's the meaning of these heavy blows you're giving me?" Vincencio asked, trying to know her reason while repeating his dodges and blocks. "Is it because I'm a werewolf like Shana?"
Hearing a woman's name, she didn't know about, easily rolled out from his mouth, fueled Rose Slayer's rage. It was making her attacks turn for the worse, and Vincencio's body started to feel numb.
"Not just that. I'm furious because of that woman." Rose Slayer answered as her attacks sped up, breaking Vincencio's defense. Her punch and kick landed perfectly on him before adding her grimace. "She's your ex, Vince, and you're with her without telling me or letting me know even her name."
"I'm..." Vincencio could not finish his words because Rose Slayer made sure he felt her pain.
After receiving fatal combos from his wife and rage, he stumbled like a rolling ball on the ground before his body was harshly smashed into a couple of oak trees due to the impact. Before Vincencio could even get up on his feet, his wife already did that for him by grabbing his neck before slamming him hard on the ground.
Vincencio was badly hurt, making him cough up blood. Only his wife could do it to him.
"You know the funny thing stuck in my head is the image of you having a coffee time with him and leaving the house early just to meet that woman." Rose Slayer spat grimly, pushing Vincencio more to the ground.
Although hurt, Vincencio managed to reach out for his wife's face and remove her mask. With that gesture, Rose Slayer has forgotten, and only Skylar's pain has been revealed. But before he could completely caress her face, he was thrown into another way.
"You could have trusted me even with just a name." Skylar weakly whispered as Vincencio carefully got up, coughing.
"Shana was the past that I don't want to remember. That's why I could not tell you even her name." He quickly reasoned, trying to give his wife some assurance that she needed, "She's nothing to me. Not anymore because I had you."
Both were in pain as they cried with honesty. It should be fine and started to reconcile, but she was hurt. Vincencio needed to know all of it.
"BUT SHE'S THE REASON WHY YOU CAN'T GIVE YOURSELF FULLY TO ME!" She shouted, remembering the rejection she had gone through, overlapping with her past failed relationship. It was flashing in her mind, and Vincencio jolted from realization.
"BECAUSE I'M SCARED THAT ONCE YOU KNOW ABOUT HER, YOU'LL ALSO KNOW THIS SIDE OF ME TOO, AND YOU'LL LEAVE ME FOR GOOD. YOU KNOW THAT I'M SCARED. I TOLD YOU THAT." He shouted back, trying to make his wife see his side again.
"JUST THE FUCKING NAME, VINCENCIO! I DON'T NEED IDENTITY. JUST THE NAME OF THE PERSON WHO HURTED YOU. WHO MADE YOU SCARED AS SHIT! AND NOW, SEEING HER HERE WITH YOU, ALONE - ARGH! OH GOD, I SEE BLOOD!" She shouted as her bottled feelings burst in one shot, crying.
She looked and walked away, trying to calm herself from being too furious. She still didn't want to severely end Vincencio as if he meant nothing to her. She still has it, her loving, kind heart. She didn't want to lose Vincencio either.
"Vince, I know you're scared, that's why you hide things from me. I get that, but don't make me feel the betrayal again. I don't want it to come from you." With a broken voice, she softly said as she didn't look at him.
"Please, understand, wifey..." He pleaded, crying his heart out too, when he suddenly jolted from another wave of emotions that didn't belong to him.
"DON'T CALL ME THAT! NOT WITH THIS SHIT GOING BETWEEN US!" She spat madly, but quickly looked horrified at what she said. "Vince, that's not…"
He knew it was not his wife's intention, but the heated emotions were spreading across his entire body. He started to tremble, and his breathing shortened as his heart rate increased drastically.
"Oh, God...please...no..." Vincencio whispered as he stepped backward, trying to suppress something but barely holding on. He growled deeply.
"V-Vince…" She mumbled and reached out to comfort him, but it was too late. "Oh, God!"
"Step away…Sky…" Vincencio tried to suppress his wolf, but his bones began cracking. However, Skylar immediately ran to his side, worried.
"I don't want to leave you," Skylar said softly, crying while cupping his face in her hands.
"Just go…please…" He said with gritted teeth, controlling his wolf one more time from surfacing.
"You know I can't." She firmly said, snapping the last hold he had against his wolf.
"SKY, RUN!" He screamed, which turned into a roar, making Skylar flinch and fall on the ground, but she didn't move away.
Skylar witnessed the painful shift that happened to her husband. She was horrified for her husband because she could hear snapping of bones and a painful roar as his skin shredded like a melting wax before fully morphing into a huge silver grey werewolf. For the first time in her life, she didn't know what to do. She was just sitting there with her entire body trembling, her breathing became ragged, and her heartbeat was deafening as it drummed like a sledgehammer against her rib cage, making her ears numb.
"I've seen them before, but witnessing my husband turned into the likes of them, my knees weaken for the first time." Skylar thought as her eyes fixated only on the wolf that looked like it was taking a deep breath before howling.
That howl suddenly resonated with Skylar's being, like she had seen the wolf before. She narrowed her eyes and images from the cliff and her challenging race with a wolf came flashing in her mind. She gasped, making her cover her mouth in realization.
"V-Vince, is that you?" She stuttered carefully as she called her husband's name, making the wolf look at her.
The huge silver-grey wolf looked intensely at her, connecting with a familiar bond they already had. As they held their gaze, Skylar felt being lured in, clicking the already tightened chains. It was binding them deeply, but the deeper it got, Skylar felt dizzy. The wolf noticed it and rushed to her side. She closed her eyes, waiting for her body to touch the ground, but it didn't come. Instead, she felt a soothing and fluffy fur wrapped protectively around her. It was pretty much the same as the one she had in her dream.
"It's you…" Skylar softly mumbled, recalling the wolf she once met.
"I told you, you'll miss me."
"I see...still full of yourself." She smiled as she settled comfortably around the wolf's furry body. "This is nice. You're real."
"Well, I've been telling you that and still don't believe it till I showed up."
"Well, I was sleeping whenever we met. So, spare me." She refuted with a legit reason.
"Touché. So, are you still thinking of rejecting me now that I'm here beside you? Well, even if you reject me, I'll haunt you even in your dreams."
"Silly. But, I heard what happened to rejected mates." With a serious gaze, she softly said, making the wolf nudge her side.
"And?"
"I'm glad I'm not going to do that. I don't want to break hearts, particularly the person who went through something." She smiled and snuggled more as her body found comfort from the wolf. The wolf purred, making her sweetly giggle. "When you purr, I thought you were a cat."
"Seriously, before you thought of me as a dog and now, a cat? What's next? You know, so I will be prepared."
