Watching Seele's somewhat dazed gaze, Shu had the urge to touch his own face to see if there was something strange on it.
He had a general awareness of his own looks. He wasn't particularly handsome, at best he could be called pleasant to look at, but his skin had indeed gotten much better recently...
Shu paused for a moment, then raised a hand and carefully examined the skin on the back of it for a couple of seconds before lowering his hand, his expression a little dazed.
Had he... gotten paler?
Did Honkai energy have a nourishing effect? Or was it just his imagination?
Shu pondered for a moment, then shook his head.
There was no point in thinking about such things. The enemy wouldn't show mercy just because you were good-looking, and he wouldn't gain any strength just by becoming more handsome.
"Is there anything else I can help with? Just leave it to me," Shu said to Seele.
"No, that's alright!" Seele came back to her senses and quickly waved her hands. "I can handle the fried eggs and bacon. Mother Cocolia said we shouldn't let guests do things themselves..."
"But it would be more efficient if I did it, right?" Shu pointed to the already distributed toast. It had only taken a few seconds to distribute all of it.
Seele hesitated again and nodded. Shu was indeed very efficient, but Mother Cocolia...
"Leave it to us, Seele," Bronya said, walking over to her and patting her on the back. "After all, the Bronya is also a member of the orphanage, isn't she?"
"That's true..." Seele felt something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Alright... the fried eggs and bacon should be in the kitchen..."
Seele pointed Shu in the direction of the kitchen. "I'll go get them..."
"I'll do it." Shu raised a hand. He had already "seen" where the fried eggs and bacon were.
It looked like someone... probably Sin... had fried them one by one. Shu saw a griddle, but even with a griddle, it would have taken about half an hour to make all of them...
It seemed Sin had been working really hard these past few days.
Shu sighed inwardly. He waved a finger, and the two trays of ingredients from the kitchen floated up just like the tray of toast before. They floated slowly out of the automatically opening door, then repeated the trajectory of the toast, distributing themselves automatically onto each plate.
Liliya, who hadn't gotten much paint on her, happened to walk in at that moment. She saw the group standing at the door and was about to greet Seele, but then her eyes fell on the floating fried eggs and bacon.
Liliya: "?"
A small question mark seemed to appear above her head. Her already drowsy eyes, due to lack of sleep, now looked even more dazed.
Just as the last fried egg gently landed on a piece of toast, Rozaliya leaped onto Liliya's back with a great jump.
"The Vodka Girl is back!" she cheered, raising her hands high on Liliya's back, celebrating her escape from Sin's clutches once again.
But this time, Liliya didn't respond. Rozaliya's attention immediately shifted to her sister.
"Liliya, what's wrong?" Rozaliya got down from Liliya's back with a worried look, anxiously moving in front of her and waving a hand in front of her face.
Rozaliya's worried tone drew the attention of everyone in the dining room.
Liliya raised a hand and pointed at the plates on the table.
"They're flying..." she murmured. Rozaliya was relieved to hear Liliya could still speak, but her attention immediately shifted to what Liliya had said.
"What's flying?" she asked curiously, turning to the dining table, but she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.
"The fried eggs, and the bacon... they were floating in the air, just like in a dream..." Liliya described the scene she had just witnessed.
Everyone immediately understood what had happened.
"Pfft..." Kiana let out a very unkind laugh and buried her head in Mei's shoulder.
"Liliya, how can fried eggs fly in the sky?" Rozaliya said sternly, putting on the air of an older sister.
"But..." Liliya wanted to say more, but she realized she had no proof...
Behind Rozaliya, Shu silently raised a hand and pointed at her.
Rozaliya was about to teach Liliya a lesson, but she suddenly felt her body lighten, and the solid feeling of the ground vanished beneath her.
"Eh?!"
The corner of Frélle's eye twitched slightly.
This scene... wasn't this how she had been brought out of the estate?
"Eh, eh, eh, eh!!" Rozaliya flailed her arms and legs in panic, trying to regain control of her body in mid-air. "I'm flying!"
"Rozaliya is flying like a balloon!" Liliya's half-closed eyes were now wide open. She looked at Rozaliya, who was floating about thirty centimeters off the ground, not knowing if she should reach out and grab her.
"Liliya! Look, I think I've awakened superpowers!" Rozaliya suddenly said to Liliya with an excited expression. Then she began the second wave of taming her limbs, trying to swim in the air.
Shu: "..."
He lowered his finger, and Rozaliya slowly descended back to the ground.
"Liliya, I don't think I can fly anymore..." Rozaliya said with a disappointed look after landing and checking her body's condition.
It seemed she hadn't mastered the art of flying...
"Rozaliya..." Seele couldn't bear to watch anymore. She decided to cruelly reveal the truth. "Actually... it was Mr. Shu who made you fly. The fried eggs and bacon just now too..."
Mister?
Kiana and Mei both discreetly glanced at Shu's young face but didn't see any particular expression on it.
"Shu?" the two of them asked in unison.
"Why does that sound so familiar?" Rozaliya tilted her head.
"Idiot Rozaliya, it's the Shu that the MOTH broadcasts and live streams are always talking about..." Liliya reminded her, her voice gradually trailing off.
Then, the two of them turned to look at Shu in silence.
"What took you two so long?" Sin came in late, shaking the water from her hands. The moment she entered, she saw the already distributed toast, fried eggs, and bacon on the dining table.
She looked at Seele in surprise.
"Not bad! You've distributed everything so quickly?" Sin was about to walk over and check the distribution when Rozaliya and Liliya grabbed her.
"Sin, it's Shu!" Rozaliya said in a surprised and hushed voice.
"The Shu from the MOTH," Liliya added.
Sin: "?"
You're only just now realizing?
