The road to Kinney Palace was rough and wild.
It felt like we were driving to the end of the earth, which didn't bother me at all - a world between everyone I have ever known and us, was exactly what I needed.
It was exactly the fresh start I wanted.
Knowing I could never bump into Ryder or Akira or Michael.
Knowing I don't ever have to see them again…brought me a little comfort.
After hours of driving, the smooth road turned to rocks, then vanished into a dark forest.
"Boundary ahead," Jack announced, his eyes glued to his phone. There was no signal for the last 200 miles, but he had been typing relentlessly on his phone.
So, I stayed in the quiet...it was where I liked being anyway but with the silence came the voices too.
His parents are going to hate me and It wouldn't be their fault. I mean, it's me.
I'm not a prize...just the opposite.
"What's going on in that head of yours?" He asked me without taking his attention away from his phone.
