After Iris leaves, Barry decides to call it a day and leave as well, and go back home. With Caitlin staying at his place right now, the night won't be so boring.
But then he feels something. The presence of another Speed Force user. As the literal embodiment of the Speed Force, how can he not feel it when someone is using it?
He turns around and sees the man in yellow, standing on top of a building right across his window, staring at him with his glowing red eyes while his entire body vibrates.
'Looks like he finally decided to make his move,' Barry thinks.
He can feel the power of the speed force inside the Reverse Flash, but there is also something else that Barry feels, something foreign that is powering him.
'Time to fight,' Barry thinks, and disappears in a flash of white lightning from his office.
The Reverse Flash also bolts, leaving behind a trail of red lightning.
Instantly, both speedsters have crossed great distances as they run through the streets of Central City.
A Red lightning streak followed by a white one. Barry chases the Reverse Flash, and while doing so, he realizes that the Reverse Flash is extremely slow compared to him.
But this doesn't come as a surprise, as Barry has already experienced his limitless speed. He can easily tap into the speed that breaks the Time Barrier itself by moving faster than light.
Reverse Flash is currently running at Mach 3, and Barry is keeping up with him, making sure to maintain this level of distance and speed. He doesn't want to scare the Reverse Flash away by showing him how easily he can blitz the living hell out of him.
Reverse Flash stops thinking that Barry will stop and confront him with words, wanting answers, but he thought wrong. Seeing Reverse Flash stop, Barry decides to mess with him.
Now a powerful God, Barry tries to find comic relief in his fights, to mess with his opponent's psyche a little, and see how they react.
Reverse Flash's eyes would be open wide in a stunned state if one could see his eyes, which are hidden by the red glow.
Barry body-checks him at Mach 3, sending the yellow speedster flying into the air before skidding and rolling on the hard tar road.
Reverse Flash groans in pain a little. He is still in a very weakened state as his powers are just recovering. He just didn't expect the Flash to outright assault him from the very start. This was way out of character for the Flash he knew.
'Fucking Time ripple!' Reverse Flash curses, blaming the change in Barry's attitude on the massive time ripple he caused by killing his mother.
This is already an alternate timeline's alternate timeline. In the original timeline. The Flash's mother never dies, and Barry becomes the Flash anyway after getting struck by lightning.
But when Reverse Flash killed Barry's mother, the original time line got fucked, landing him into this alternate timeline, but he doesn't know that the alternate timeline he created is also fucked because the current Barry is not the real Barry, but a soul that is the other half of the speed force.
This is what happens when you mess with time, and this Reverse Flash doesn't seem that experienced when it comes to time-traveling.
Because Barry knows how much of a menace the Reverse Flash from the comics is. And Barry also knows there might come a day when he meets that Reverse Flash, and it's going to be one hell of a race.
But for now, his opponent is a much weaker version. Someone Barry can handle with ease.
Barry immediately appears on top of Reverse Flash and tries to punch his face in, but Reverse Flash makes a run for it again, and Barry once again gives chase.
He could have fucked up Reverse Flash right then and there, but this is not the right time. Or is it?
He could beat the ever living crap out of Reverse Flash, take him back and reveal to the team that the Reverse Flash is none other than Dr. Wells.
But that might cause unnecessary problems. By stopping Reverse Flash too early, Barry might completely ruin Reverse Flash's plan to go back to his time. This might cause a lot of unnecessary situations.
It could work out in Barry's favor by forcing Reverse Flash to admit that he is the killer of his mother and set his father free from prison, or it could go completely against him by Reverse Flash becoming even more bitter because his plan failed.
He would probably let Henry rot in prison for his entire life just to get back at Barry for stopping him from going back to his time, while rotting inside a cage himself. And he will likely do that, because Reverse Flash is a spiteful asshole.
Barry has no idea what this lunatic will do if he stops him right now, and with the possibility of an uncertain future, Barry is not going to take that chance.
So Barry plans to frustrate the Reverse Flash for now, make him panic and do something stupid, while also making sure that the team finds out about his true identity before things go south.
And once everything is in place, he will put an end to the Reverse Flash chapter of his life, well, at least for a while, before he pops up again because of some time shenanigans.
