Chapter 159 - family adventures

The warm glow of the sunrise crept into the cave den, illuminating the sleeping forms of our family. I stirred first, gently unwrapping my wings from around Tharros, who was still fast asleep. Thyriatrix opened her eyes, smiled at me, and stretched her light green-scaled body.

"Good morning," she whispered, her voice husky from sleep.

"Good morning," I replied, smiling back at her. "I think it's time to start the day."

Thyriatrix nodded, and we both began to stir the children, who gradually woke up, rubbing their eyes and stretching their young bodies.

As we prepared for breakfast, Lyriath, our curious and adventurous son, asked, "Father, can we go on a flying trip today?"

I smiled, knowing that Lyriath loved to soar through the skies. "Let's see how the weather looks outside, and we'll plan something fun."

The children cheered, excited at the prospect of a flying trip. Thyriatrix and I exchanged a look, and I knew we would make it a special day for our family.

With breakfast underway, the cave den filled with the sounds of chatter and laughter, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for this wonderful family of mine.

"Today's going to be a great day," I said, smiling at Thyriatrix.

She smiled back, and we both knew that with our family together, anything was possible.

As we finished breakfast, I looked out the entrance of the cave den, taking in the breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. The sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow over the rolling hills and towering trees.

"Looks like perfect flying weather to me," I said, turning back to the family.

The children cheered, and Lyriath exclaimed, "Yes! Let's go! Let's go!"

Thyriatrix smiled, "Alright, let's get everyone ready. We'll make sure to stay together and have a safe flight."

I nodded, and we began to help the children into their flying positions. Tharros, being the oldest, took the lead, with Lyriath and Vyraxys following close behind. Nyxoria and Lyrixa flew together, their scales shimmering in the sunlight. Kaidorix and Kieraxys flew alongside each other, their laughter and shouts filling the air. Niamon, the youngest, flew with Thyriatrix, who kept a watchful eye on her little one.

As we took to the skies, the wind rushed past us, and the sun shone down on our scales. The children laughed and played, their joy infectious. I flew alongside Thyriatrix, watching over our family with pride.

The flight was exhilarating, and we soared through the skies, taking in the stunning views of the landscape below. We flew over sparkling streams, lush forests, and rolling hills, feeling the thrill of freedom and adventure.

As we flew, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this wonderful family of mine, and the joy that they brought to my life.

As we flew, the wind rushing past us, we finally arrived at our destination - a beautiful lake surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery. The lake's surface sparkled in the sunlight, inviting us to take a dip and cool off.

The children cheered, excited to explore the new location. "We're here! We're here!" Tharros exclaimed, his silver scales glinting in the sunlight.

Thyriatrix and I exchanged a look, and I nodded. "Alright, let's take a break and enjoy the lake. But remember to stay safe and close to us."

The children nodded, and we began to descend towards the lake's surface. As we landed on the shore, the children eagerly ran towards the water's edge, laughing and splashing each other.

Lyriath and Vyraxys were the first to dive in, sending water spraying everywhere. Nyxoria and Lyrixa followed, their scales shimmering as they glided through the water. Kaidorix and Kieraxys played a game of splash-tag, their laughter echoing through the air. Niamon giggled and splashed in the shallow water, Thyriatrix keeping a watchful eye on her.

Tharros and I sat on a nearby rock, enjoying the warm sun on our scales. "This is nice, Father," Tharros said, smiling at me.

I smiled back, feeling grateful for this moment with my son. "Yes, it is. I'm glad we're spending the day together as a family."

As we enjoyed the lake, the warm sun, and each other's company, I knew that this was a day our family would cherish for a long time.

Pov Tharros

Then I looked at Father with wide eyes, my curiosity getting the better of me. "Father, how strong are you?!" I asked, my voice filled with awe and wonder.

Father chuckled and smiled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Ah, Tharros, I'm strong enough to protect our family and keep you all safe," he replied, his deep voice reassuring.

But I wasn't satisfied with that answer. I wanted to know more. "But Father, how strong are you really?" I pressed on, my curiosity driving me to ask more questions.

Father's expression turned thoughtful, and he seemed to consider his response carefully. "Well, Tharros, as a dragon, I have a certain level of physical strength that allows me to fly, breathe fire, and defend our family. But strength isn't just about physical power - it's also about courage, wisdom, and love."

I nodded, intrigued by Father's words. I had never thought about strength in that way before. I looked at Father with newfound respect, realizing that he was strong in many different ways.

Father's eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief as he took a deep breath. His chest expanded, and then he let out a slow, steady stream of cold air towards the tree. The air seemed to shimmer and frost formed on the tree's branches, covering it in a thick layer of ice. The tree's leaves crunched and crackled as they froze, and the sound echoed through the air.

The tree now stood frozen and still, its branches etched in crystal clarity. "Whoa!" Lyriath exclaimed, his eyes wide with wonder. "Father, that's amazing!"

I ask, "Can you do that to me? Your ice breath?!" Father's eyes sparkled with amusement, and he chuckled. "Oh, Tharros, I don't think that's a good idea. You might not like being frozen solid," he said with a grin.

I smiled tail, wagging. "I have fire elements! I be find!" Father unsure and gave a small ice breath that fully covered me in ice, and mother saw the whole thing but too late to stop it.

Mother's claws swiped at Father, sending him tumbling through the forest, trees crashing down around him. "Thyriatrix, no! I didn't mean to hurt him!" Father shouted, trying to defend himself against Mother's fierce attack. But Mother was beyond reason, her eyes blazing with fury as she chased after Father, determined to protect her frozen son. I, meanwhile, stood frozen in place, a statue of ice, unaware of the chaos unfolding around me.

Mother's eyes blazed with fury as she confronted Father. "What were you thinking?!" she demanded, her voice low and menacing.

Father lowered his head in shame. "Sorry dear!"

The forest was quiet for a moment, the only sound being the distant calls of startled birds. Then, a faint cracking sound came from where I stood frozen, and Mother's eyes snapped towards me, her expression changing from anger to worry. "Tharros! Oh no, Tharros, can you hear me?" she called out, rushing towards me.

I move my eyes to show her that I am still here and listening.

A small smile of relief crossed Mother's face as she saw my eyes move, and she gently reached out with a claw to touch the ice encasing me. "Thank the elements, Tharros. You're still with us," she whispered, her voice filled with concern. She began to carefully chip away at the ice, trying to free me without causing any harm.

I use my fire elements to heat up my scales. I have learned this from my formal fire mentor, Orion, a few years back, it helped melt the ice faster.

The ice around me began to melt at a faster pace, and Mother's eyes widened in surprise as she saw the ice crack and shatter, revealing my scales glowing with a warm, golden light.

As the last bits of ice fell away, I stretched my wings and shook my body, sending droplets of water flying everywhere. "Thanks, Mother," I said, smiling at her, before looking at Father, who was watching us with a mixture of relief and wariness, still expecting Mother's wrath.

I shank my body to dry off and walk towards my father, not saying anything, Father watched me approach, his eyes still wary, but as I drew closer, he seemed to relax a bit, expecting the worst to be over. He lowered his head slightly, a gesture of submission, and waited for my reaction.

Mother, however, still stood tall, her eyes fixed on Father, as if daring him to make another move. The air was tense with unspoken words and unresolved emotions.

I nuzzled his head and smiled. "That wasn't small as I aspected you would do father" Father's expression changed from wariness to surprise, and then to relief as I nuzzled his head.

He chuckled, a low rumbling sound, and wrapped his tail around me in a gentle hug. "I guess I underestimated the 'small' part, didn't I?" he said with a grin, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Mother, seeing our interaction, seemed to relax a bit, her posture easing as she watched us. "Aetherius, you need to be more careful," she said, her voice still stern, but with a hint of warmth.

Mother sighed. "How about we have fun in the beautiful lake while in a lush greenery!"

Father smiled. "You can watch the rest and don't worry! I won't use any more attacks on Tharros! And by the way, he wants it!" Mother hesitated and walk to the lake.

The sunlight danced across the lake's surface, creating a mesmerizing display of light and shadow. Mother led the way, her footsteps quiet on the lush grass. Father and I followed, the air filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. As we reached the lake's edge, Mother turned to us, a hint of a smile on her face. "Let's see who can swim the fastest!" she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

I look up at Father and said "still feel sorry for accidentally freezing me?!" Father's expression turned sheepish, and he rubbed the back of his head with a claw. "Ah, well, Tharros, I'd say it was more than just an accident... but I'm glad you're okay. And I promise to be more careful with my ice breath in the future."

He smiled, his albino scales glistening in the sunlight. "Deal?" Then I looked at my siblings playing hide and seek, and Lyriath was the Seeker and found Kaidorix, who later said, "How did you find me?! Did my forest green color scales not hide me well?!

Lyriath answer "you are forest green color scales may make you camouflage, but not 100% unseen!"

Kaidorix's face scrunched up in disappointment, "Aww, man! I thought for sure I was hidden!" Lyriath chuckled and ruffled Kaidorix's head with a claw, "Don't worry, little bro, you're still a great hider! I just got lucky!"

Vyraxys and Nyxoria, who were watching from the sidelines, burst out laughing, "Yeah, Lyriath's got eyes like a hawk!" Vyraxys exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Lyrixa and Niamon were giggling and playing with some nearby flowers, completely oblivious to the game. Kieraxys, who was trying to hide behind a nearby rock, popped out and shouted, "Hey! It's my turn to hide! Find me, Lyriath!"

I looked at Father. "I be with Vyraxys and Nyxoria for a moment, Father!" Father nodded, his eyes still watching the lake's serene surface. "Alright, Tharros. I'll keep an eye on Lyrixa, Kieraxys, and Niamon. Have fun with your siblings."

He smiled, and I walked over to Vyraxys and Nyxoria, who were still chuckling about Lyriath's hawk-like eyes. "Hey, guys, what's so funny?" I asked, grinning. Vyraxys turned to me, his dark bronze scales glinting in the sunlight. "Lyriath's just too good at finding us, Tharros! He's like a master seeker!"

Nyxoria chimed in, her amethyst scales sparkling with amusement. "Yeah, and Kaidorix thought he was hidden for sure!"

I laughed "yeah I saw and heard Kaidorix being found! He should try to hide better!" Vyraxys and Nyxoria burst out laughing again, and I joined in, the three of us sharing a moment of sibling camaraderie.

Kaidorix, who was still nearby, looked over at us with a mock-offended expression, "Hey, I'm a great hider! I just need to work on my skills, that's all!" We all laughed some more, enjoying the lighthearted moment together. Lyriath, who was now hiding behind a nearby tree, called out, "Okay, okay, my turn to hide again! Find me, everyone!" The game continued, with us all laughing and playing together.

As the game of hide and seek went on, Mother swam up to Father, who was watching over Lyrixa, Kieraxys, and Niamon. "Aetherius, why don't you join in on the fun?" she asked, her light green scales shimmering in the sunlight. Father smiled and nodded, "Alright, I'll give it a try." He strode over to the group, his albino scales standing out against the lush greenery. "Alright, kids, I'm going to hide now. Find me!" he declared, and with a burst of speed, he vanished behind a cluster of trees.

The kids all cheered and began searching for Father. Lyriath, being the experienced seeker, took charge, directing everyone to search different areas. "Vyraxys, check behind the rocks! Nyxoria, look behind the flowers! Tharros, search the trees!"

The kids all scattered, determined to find Father. Meanwhile, Lyrixa, Kieraxys, and Niamon played together, laughing and chasing each other around the lake's edge. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter, a perfect family day.

I look around and see a giant albino dragon scales very noticeable from the tree than i walk towards it and looked up and see Father and said, "You are literally 77 meters tall, father! So i found this fast"

Father chuckled and smiled down at me, "Ah, yes, I suppose that's a bit of a disadvantage when it comes to hiding, isn't it?" He laughed, his deep voice rumbling. "I guess I'll just have to rely on my speed to catch you all instead!" With a grin, he began to stalk towards us, his massive albino body moving swiftly despite its size. The kids all squealed and ran, laughing and shouting as Father chased after us, playing a game of tag.

But his big clawed are bigger than us, so we mostly tumbling and rolling everytime father tag us.

The kids all burst out laughing as we tumbled and rolled away from Father's giant claws. "Whoops, sorry about that, kids!" Father exclaimed, trying to stifle a grin.

Lyriath got tagged and ended up doing a series of flips, landing with a giggle. Vyraxys got swiped at and ended up rolling down a small hill, laughing hysterically. Nyxoria got tagged and did a backwards somersault, landing with a squeal of delight.

I got tagged and ended up doing a forward roll, laughing as I stumbled to my feet. Kaidorix got tagged and ended up doing a cartwheel, his forest green scales glinting in the sunlight. Kieraxys got tagged and ended up doing a little dance, laughing and shouting "Again! Again!"

Niamon just giggled and clung to Mother's tail, watching the chaos with wide eyes. Lyrixa got tagged and ended up spinning around in circles, her rose gold scales sparkling as she laughed. The game of tag continued, with Father's giant claws sending us all tumbling and rolling in every direction.

As the game of tag continued, Mother joined in, using her agility and quick reflexes to dodge Father's claws and tag some of the kids herself. The lake's surroundings echoed with our laughter and shouts, creating a joyful atmosphere.

Lyrixa and Niamon eventually decided to team up and try to tag Father, but he was too fast and ended up chasing them around a tree instead. Kieraxys tried to hide behind a rock, but Father's long tail swished around and tagged him, sending him tumbling.

Kaidorix and Vyraxys attempted to sneak up on Father, but he sensed their approach and tagged them both with a swipe of his claw. Nyxoria and Lyriath worked together, trying to distract Father while the others snuck up, but Father was too clever and ended up chasing them all around the lake's edge.

I tried to use my speed to evade Father's claws, but he was relentless and eventually tagged me with a gentle swipe. As the game finally began to wind down, we all collapsed on the grassy shore, laughing and panting.

Father smiled down at us, his albino scales glistening in the sunlight. "I think I won this round," he said, chuckling. Mother smiled and nudged him with her snout. "I think you did, dear." We all laughed and smiled, enjoying the warm sunshine and each other's company.

Mother chuckled, "After kept accidentally tumbling and rolling our hatchlings from your claws! And I saw Kaidorix end up trip over from your tail!" Father's expression turned sheepish, and he rubbed the back of his head with a claw. "Ah, well, I guess I still need to work on my tag skills when it comes to our little ones."

He chuckled, his deep voice rumbling. "I didn't mean to send Kaidorix tumbling, and I'm glad he's okay." Kaidorix, who was sitting nearby, looked up at Father with a grin. "It's okay, Father! I'm fine! And it was funny!"

The other siblings laughed and teased Kaidorix about his tumble, and soon we were all laughing and joking together. Mother smiled and wrapped her tail around Father's, pulling him close. "We're just glad everyone is safe and having fun."

As the day wore on, we decided it was time to head back home. Father led the way, with Mother bringing up the rear to make sure everyone was accounted for.

We climbed up the mountain, our scales glistening in the sunlight as we made our way back to our cave. The kids all chattered and laughed, still buzzing with energy from our game of tag.

As we reached the entrance of the cave, Father smiled and said, "Welcome home, everyone!" We all filed inside, shaking off the dirt and dust from our scales.

Mother began to tidy up the cave, putting away any items that had been left out. The kids all settled down, some of them yawning as they began to wind down from our active day.

I smiled, feeling content and happy after our family outing. "I'm glad we spent the day together," I said, looking over at my family.

Father nodded, his eyes warm with affection. "Me too, Tharros. Me too."

With a sense of satisfaction, we all settled into our cozy cave, feeling grateful for our loving family and our mountain home. And with that, we began our relaxing afternoon, enjoying each other's company in the warmth of our cave.
