"Then what would you say is my knowledge worth?" she said, smiling in a seductive way, trying to use his own skills against him, though that did not end up working as Leyk just continued talking, already having expected that as Avere was beginning to reconsider that he had called himself the best conversationist out of the two of them because of his trial.
"I'd say it's worth information about the four types of strength enhancement magic I know and have come to love, some of which you might now know yet, or, perhaps it is worth mana sense where you are able to see things that one is not normally able to see, useful in the darkness or in extreme light", he gestured downwards into the ground where there were still a few human corpses, though Leyk didn't even yet know of the name of the species.
"Or perhaps you want my trick with using mana to control the surroundings with shields, though, " he shrugged his shoulder, " that guy, " he pointed at Avere, "would also know the basics of that one if you want to settle for less..." he ended his counter to her counter, something that, now that Avere actually thought about it, his, and the burly man's mouth, both agape, was very similar to a special kind of battle, perhaps also the reason Leyk was so good at it.
"Then" she smiled, distancing herself a bit from Leyk who already was smiling in a sly way that his new face contorted into a handsome smile that would have made the heart of many a woman unintentionally melt, be it not that of Kehit who was a vampire herself, though she was also interested in how much better he would look after becoming one, vampires being known for having great beauty as well after all.
"I would like to know about the four methods of enhancement you mentioned as I only know two." she said, making herself seem innocent and like a young maiden that did not know much, with Leyk grinning and replying with a small joke that did not really take root.
"Then listen up, cause I will turn you two eyes into a four-eyes.." he uttered a horrible joke, with the intention of changing the mood slightly and change the flow of the conversation to suit his own intention of getting away with paying less than he should have had to pay, quickly adding a sly comment that might be useful to him later on.
"I will actually give you a small bonus" he grinned knowingly, " as the last of the four tricks is related to the way of becoming a scribe..." he added, knowing that that would later cause Kehit to know fully well that she owed him something else, another piece of information, perhaps explanation about vampire biology related to his own wildly different body of a f#cking corpse and such, something he was kind of worried about.
"The first technique is simple, putting mana into your muscles, skeleton, tendons, enhancing them, this is natural to us and is often caused by the ranks in the beginning, and enhanced even further around the middle stages, though it is ironic that one loses a bit of physical strength when becoming a transcribe, even one that does not yet know to transcribe things." he began, putting in a small joke that would lead to his next technique he was now owing to impart onto her.
"The second one is gifted to us through the better control caused by the transcribe rank as well as the enhacned mana, using a lot of the energy one uses to cause magic to, well, happen, " he hesitated a bit, thinking of how to explain it.
"Okay, so, for the second one you simply push out previously collected mana into the surroundings in one specific direction, like under your feet, pushing yourself up, behind you back, and such, using mana to speed yourself up greatly, a good trick, be it with big drawbacks, and only really useable in a pure fight under some special circumstances." he added with a warning, going right over to the third technique, the other three intently listening in, Avere surprised at how the conversation was flowing and Leyk was leading her on through the promise, be it that that was only natural when the other person was explaining something.
"The third trick is rather simple but difficult to first learn." he added, smiling slily.
"I call it going with the flow, using mana and causing it to go in a special way, doing somethign similar to the expulsion technique I mentioned previously, but slower, gaining greater strength through added momentum during a fights with fists or swords, adding weight to yourself, or lowering it, by pushing yourself upwards or downwards, and doing a lot more that one can't think of that easily." he said, seemingly having gotten a few ideas even while he was saying that, Kehit putting her index finger over her mouth, putting her head a bit lower and seemingly digesting that information that seemed to be new to her.
"Now, for this last piece of knowledge I was quite literally beheaded, so listen well, since I will only tell you once, unless you give me something better in return." he warned Kehit whose head quickly snapped back to stare intently at him.
"For this you have to understand intent, you have to feel what you truly yearn for, what you want to do, you have to grab that which you can only feel as a transcribe, and weave magic into it, using it to create a sharper weapon, to consistently heal yourself without any complicated magic or divine rituals some people are obsessed with, just the power of intent to use in reality... there isn't really a better way to explain it..." he paused a moment.
"Or you could just make a soul-bound item" he said, pointing at his right ear where there was the elegant earring made of black metal with the simple rounded edges, causing everyone to look there, especially Avere who remembered that the messenger had told him something about that.
"But now," he smilingly interrupted, returning to the real reason for the conversation, " I want to become a vampire... before I overthink it..." he added, muttering into thin air, but Kehit realized it and slightly changed her tone.
"Let's talk about cons and pros first..." she added warmly, kind of soft, perhaps having warmed up to Leyk through their non-physical battle of words, a clash that had truly made the other Cades speechless once more, be it of a wildly different reason this time.
