Chapter 483 - Chapter 483: Illusion Space

[Berlin]

[After arriving in Berlin, the 3rd generation Spider-Man swung down gracefully from the express train using his web-lines. When he spotted a young woman walking past on the street, he approached her politely, "Excuse me, do you happen to know where..."]

[Unexpectedly, the woman suddenly shouted with excitement "Night Monkey!" and ran away in the opposite direction!]

["NO! Wait! I'm not... Oh! How did this happen!" Spider-Man helplessly watched her flee, then turned around with the intention of asking someone else for directions.]

[When he spun around, he discovered a sleek black car passing by that suddenly stopped. Nick Fury rolled down the tinted window and said with his characteristic calm authority, "Get in the car, Parker!"]

[Inside the vehicle, Spider-Man pulled off his mask and called out to Nick Fury with nervous urgency: "Mr. Fury!"]

[While skillfully navigating the Berlin traffic, Nick Fury spoke in a distinctly unfriendly and stern tone, "You're going to have to explain everything that's happened!"]

["NO! NO! NO! You have to listen to me first!"]

[Nick Fury raised a single finger authoritatively and interrupted him, "We'll discuss this when we reach a secure location!"]

[Spider-Man took two deep breaths and tried to calm his agitated emotional state, "Okay, that's fine!"]

[At that moment, the persistent seatbelt reminder alarm kept chiming throughout the car. Nick Fury glanced meaningfully at Spider-Man and remained silent. After noticing that Spider-Man hadn't caught on to anything unusual, Fury couldn't help but clear his throat loudly to get his attention.]

[Seeing Fury looking at him with obvious confusion, Nick Fury had no choice but to gesture with his hands across his chest, and finally Spider-Man realized that he wasn't wearing his seatbelt.]

["Oh! Right!" Spider-Man came to his senses and immediately attempted to pull the seatbelt across his body, but it seemed to be stuck and wouldn't extend properly. With one final forceful tug, he accidentally broke the entire seatbelt mechanism.]

[Looking at the completely destroyed seatbelt dangling uselessly, Spider-Man glanced at Nick Fury with embarrassment, and found that the veteran spy was staring at him with complete exasperation.]

"Hahaha! I'm absolutely dying of laughter! Has this Peter never ridden in a car before in his entire life?" The 2nd generation Gwen laughed so hard that she nearly fell over from her perch.

The 2nd generation Spider-Man shook his head with helpless understanding, obviously feeling just as speechless as the Nick Fury they were watching on screen.

Although he rarely rode in cars himself, he knew that when a seatbelt wouldn't extend properly, you simply needed to release it completely and then pull it again slowly. However, it was painfully obvious that this Spider-Man had no idea about this basic automotive knowledge.

[Soon the car arrived at what appeared to be an official government building, and Nick Fury led Spider-Man into a sterile conference room.]

["So! Do you have anything important to tell us about your little girlfriend?"]

[Agent Hill stood across from Spider-Man with her hands clasped behind her back and clarified, "He's referring to E.D.I.T.H.!"]

["I know I shouldn't have transferred control! I'm so sorry! But Beck isn't what you think he is! Beck is a complete fraud! Mysterio, the Elementals! They're all fake! He used some kind of sophisticated illusion technology! All to gain your trust and steal E.D.I.T.H. away from me!"]

[Then he carefully placed the projector device on the conference table and slid it toward them. "It's a holographic projector! I pulled it right off that fire monster during the Prague attack!"]

[Nick Fury narrowed his one good eye with suspicion, "So all the casualties and destruction we personally witnessed were fabricated using this device?"]

["NO! It's not just holograms! He also deployed weaponized drones for the real damage!"]

[Nick Fury looked over at Agent Hill with growing concern, "If this intelligence is accurate, then Beck represents a significant threat! We need to handle this situation with extreme caution! Who else have you shared this information with? Parker? Parker!"]

[Spider-Man suddenly noticed something was fundamentally wrong. His spider-sense was blaring urgent warnings throughout his consciousness, and he didn't even respond to Nick Fury's repeated calls.]

[Agent Hill walked over to the window and observed him with concern, "What's wrong with you?"]

["It's Beck! He's found us! He's here!" Spider-Man immediately pulled down his mask's eye lenses.]

["What are you talking about? Hill!!!" Just as Nick Fury drew his sidearm, he watched in horror as Agent Hill gradually began disappearing from her position, and the surrounding conference room environment flickered and returned to its true state.]

[The Europol Criminal Police Headquarters, which had originally appeared to be bustling with many staff members, was revealed to be nothing more than an abandoned construction site filled with debris.]

["NO! This entire thing is just an elaborate illusion!"]

[The next second, a high-caliber bullet tore through the deteriorating wall and struck Nick Fury, sending him crashing to the concrete floor.]

["Fury!!!"]

[Spider-Man only had time to shout in alarm before he spotted an armed drone hovering menacingly behind him. The next instant, another bullet was fired, and the devastating impact sent him flying through the air before he landed heavily at the bottom of the abandoned building.]

["Well, well, Peter! Don't blame yourself too much for Fury's death! I was planning to eliminate him anyway! But you don't have to share his fate!"]

[Several more drones flew into position around the area, accompanied by Quentin Beck's amplified voice, and then numerous green targeting lasers appeared all over Spider-Man's body. Those drones were acquiring target locks on him.]

[Spider-Man looked up at the drones surrounding him and shouted defiantly, "Stop hiding like a coward, Beck!"]

[Then he fired a strand of spider silk directly at one of the drones, but the webbing passed straight through it harmlessly. It was immediately obvious that these drones were also sophisticated illusions.]

["I tried to give you a chance to walk away! But now you've forced my hand!"]

[Accompanied by Quentin Beck's ominous voice, the surrounding environment shifted dramatically once again, transforming into a dark, surreal space, and Spider-Man's black Night Monkey costume mysteriously changed back into his normal red and blue Spider-Man suit.]

[A holographic projection of Quentin Beck materialized and walked slowly toward him with predatory confidence, "You told me yourself! You're just a kid from Queens!"]

[Spider-Man instinctively fired spider silk at the approaching illusion, but was shocked to discover that his webbing transformed into dissipating green smoke before it could make contact.]

[The illusion of Quentin Beck had somehow teleported behind him, "You told me! You just want to be with that girl you love!"]

[Spider-Man immediately spun around and threw a devastating punch, but his fist struck a solid concrete pillar instead, leaving a significant dent in the structure and demonstrating just how much enhanced force he had used. The impact also made him shake his hand in considerable pain.]

["Save me!!!" MJ's terrified voice echoed through the twisted space.]

["MJ!" Spider-Man couldn't determine whether the voice was real or fabricated, so he rushed desperately toward the source of the sound and smashed through a door, but discovered that there was absolutely nothing in front of him. He nearly plummeted into what appeared to be a bottomless abyss.]

["Oh! God!" He then realized with disorientation that he had somehow been transported from the abandoned building to the very top of the Eiffel Tower without any awareness of the transition.]

["Peter! What's happening to us?"]

[Spider-Man turned his head and found MJ standing right beside him, looking at him with genuine terror and confusion.]

["I know this isn't real!"]

["Are you absolutely certain about that?" Quentin Beck's projection appeared from behind MJ, grabbed her neck with his illusory hand, and lifted her off the tower's platform.]

[Witnessing this horrifying scene, even though his rational mind knew it was fake, Spider-Man couldn't remain passive, "MJ! MJ!"]

[As Quentin Beck released his grip, MJ screamed in terror and fell toward the streets of Paris far below, and Spider-Man followed with a desperate diving leap, but instead crashed directly into the hard ground.]

[Quentin Beck taunted him mercilessly: "You can't seem to distinguish what's real anymore, Peter!"]

[Spider-Man struggled to his feet again, and the surrounding environment shifted rapidly once more, with the final scene flashing to what appeared to be a familiar house.]

[Before he could fully process his new location, an enormous fist smashed through the entire structure and sent him flying through the air, as if he had broken through the very fabric of space itself, finally landing in a place completely covered with spider webs.]

["Wake up!!!"]

[Finally, Spider-Man crashed down heavily onto the roof of the same car they had driven earlier, but this vehicle was no longer the black color it had been initially. From the very moment he had arrived in Berlin, he had unknowingly fallen under Quentin Beck's complete psychological control.]
