Daniel was already tired of following Hank every Friday to their special kebab spot in search of Hank's mountain fairy.
He had invited a forensic artist to sketch a picture of the mountain fairy. Hank had given a vivid description of who he had been looking for. When Daniel saw who the artist had sketched, he couldn't believe his eyes.
''H, are you certain this is the mountain fairy you have been searching for all this while for over a year now?''
Hank furrowed his brows and answered with a tinge of annoyance in his voice. ''Of course she is the one. I wouldn't mistake her for anyone.''
Daniel couldn't believe his eyes. ''Wow. What a small world. So all this while, the mountain fairy you have been looking for, is actually Miss Powers.''
When Hank heard this, his eyes widened, and he asked with so much anxiousness in his voice, wishing it was true. ''Do you know her?''
He waited with so much anticipation, and praying that Daniel should actually know her. ''Well H. I am not a hundred percent sure. But she looks so much like our Miss Powers. Hold on, let me pull out her file.''
He thanked the forensic artist, and asked him to leave. ''Thank you for your work. Until next time.'' The artist gathered his stuff, thanked them and left.
Daniel took off his suit jacket, and pulled up Chelsy's file from their database. Her picture was attached to her resume. He asked Hank to move over and confirm if she was the one. Hank, moved over, and when he saw Chelsy's picture on Daniel's computer, he felt a gush of wind blow through him. He felt his heart beating so fast.
His heart felt as though it would jump out of his chest. Hank gave a big smile and said, ''Oh my goodness. She is the one. This is my mountain fairy. So all this while, you have been right under my nose, and I didn't see you.'' He stood there looking so lost in thought that he didn't realize he was leaning on Daniel.
Daniel couldn't believe his cousin was swooning over his discovery. Daniel used this as an opportunity to tease Hank. ''H, I am not gay. Even if I were, you are definitely not my type. Stop leaning on me like that. We are brothers mate.'' He had a little smile on the corner of his mouth.
Hank realized what was happening, and gave Daniel a smack on the head. ''Ouch Hank. That hurts. Why are you such a barbarian? Urggg.''
Daniel had forgotten that teasing Hank could sometimes lead to him receiving smacks like that or punches.
''If you open your mouth one more time and spew such nonsense again, I will make sure you never speak using that mouth ever again.''
He spoke and walked back and sat on his chair, with a little smile around the corner of his mouth. Daniel, who had been watching Hank act like a teenage boy in love, said, ''Woah, woah. Calm down, lover boy. The fire of love in your eyes, can actually set this office ablaze.''
Hank smirked and said in a more serious manner, ''what love are you talking about?''
Daniel just scoffed and replied, ''Is this not the same person I have been asking you to meet for the past six months? She is the intern that has been working with us for over a year now, and is also the same person that saved us from Gilmore's scheme.''
Daniel wanted to tease Hank, and went further, saying, ''You know what? Since you had refused to meet her, I was already thinking of introducing her to Jeremy. Who knows? Maybe they could have a strong connection and start something together. And from what I see, they will actually make a great match. You know Jeremy is a handsome and successful business tycoon, and he is ready to commit to a relationship now. I couldn't just watch the beautiful and kind-hearted Miss Chelsy just slip away. If I wasn't in a relationship with Lara, I would have asked her out on a date myself.''
Jeremy was Hank and Daniel's childhood friend, based in Liverpool. When Hank heard this, his countenance changed to that of fury. He looked at Daniel with eyes spitting fire. He spoke with a deep and dangerous voice, "How dare you?"
His eyes were brimming with anger and jealousy. Daniel could not help but smile. So Hank is really in love with Chelsy. Thank God... He will finally move on from that, Alexandra. Daniel thought to himself.
He gave a loud laughter and said, ''But you didn't want her. I asked you so many times, and you gave me a deaf ear. If you had waited for a little while, the last time we met my employees at the kebab spot, you would have met her with her teammates. It shows she was the one you had heard singing. You have really got sharp ears, mate.''
Hank wasn't in the mood for Daniel's shenanigans. He just stood up and said, ''I am leaving. Nana is expecting us at her place tonight for dinner. You better not come late.''
Daniel quickly stopped him and said, ''Hold on H. Why don't I call her to my office, so that you can at least see her physically before you leave?''
Hank didn't agree with him. ''No Daniel. As much as I would really want to meet her one on one, I don't think it is the right time yet. I guess I need to put my thoughts together first.''
Daniel nodded and agreed with him. ''You are right. Anyway, I had promised to take her out for dinner with the company executives as a reward for helping with the Gilmore deal. I guess this is the right time to do that. You could join us, or maybe be in the same restaurant, and watch her from a distance.''
Hank could not believe what Daniel was saying. He looked at Daniel as if he had gone wacko. ''D, are you under some narcotic influence? Or have you started taking expired weed? How could you suggest I sit in a restaurant and hide myself somewhere just to look at someone?''
He took a deep breath and said, ''see you at Nana's home.'' He spoke and turned around, and left.
Daniel just smiled and shook his head. ''I know there will come a time you will be visiting my office every day just to watch her from a distance. And that time isn't far from now. Ah. Our Hank has finally found love again. He just hasn't realized it yet.'' He gave another chuckle and turned to his computer.
Meanwhile, the office had been going through turmoil, with the arrival of the handsome Hank Fitzwilliam. All the ladies who had seen him, couldn't help but fantasize over his perfect appearance.
Cleopatra, who had not had the chance to see him, walked in and said, ''Girls, can you imagine my Mister Charming was here, and I didn't even get to see him?''
She turned and looked at Ruben with a frown and said, ''Ruben, it is all your fault. If you had finished your task properly, I wouldn't have been asked to redo it with you. Now, while helping you out, I missed seeing my Mister Charming.'' She gave a fake cry and held her chest as if it hurt.''
Erica couldn't help but laugh out loud, ''Come on Cleopatra, don't be such a drama queen. You keep calling him your mister Charming. He doesn't even know someone like you exists. So just take a chill pill, and concentrate on your boyfriend.''
Chelsy couldn't stand the noise, and said, ''Guys, please, can you leave this discussion for later? We have a task we need to finish before the end of today. Erica, I am done with the proposal you asked me to write. Would you want me to forward it to you?''
Erica remembered they had a team presentation coming up soon. ''Oh Chelsy. Please, I will appreciate that.'' She sat back in her chair, and started working.
The day had finally come to an end. Chelsy was really exhausted from all the work she had done in the office. When she got home, she took some time in the shower, just to relax and let her body rest from all the work she had done in the office.
After taking a long bath, she got out and dressed in her pajamas. She let her wet hair air dry while she made a quick dinner; pesto chicken and vegetables.
After eating and cleaning the dishes, she sat on the couch and couldn't stop thinking about Hank. ''Was that not the quiet gancarnagh I had seen earlier today? Or has my mind started playing tricks on me again? If he wasn't the one, then who was the handsome stranger in the office today?'' Chelsy murmured to herself.
She thought she had forgotten all about Hank, but his face kept coming to her mind as if everything that happened on the mountain happened yesterday. She thought of the unforgettable kiss they had shared, and couldn't help touching her lips.
She reminisced how he had looked at her with his deep blue eyes staring directly into her soul. His deep husky voice, which sounded like a sweet melody in her ears. She leaned backwards on the couch and closed her eyes. She let out a deep sigh and spoke in a voice that sounded like a whisper.
''Oh Chelsy. You have started thinking about that man again. Remember what Ken did to you, and protect your heart. You can't be vulnerable again. So just snap out of this fantasy.'' Chelsy reminded herself.
She stood up, walked into her bedroom, and forced herself to sleep.
