My body became a conduit for the storm. With a guttural yell that was half-human, half-thunderclap, I met the serpent's lunge not with fear, but with fury.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON HARD FIST!"
My fist, wreathed in roaring yellow electricity, smashed into the serpent's armored jaw in a brutal uppercut.
The sound was like the world's largest whip cracking, and the colossal beast's head snapped back from the force.
Before it could recover, I used its own body as a launchpad, rocketing into the air above it, my leg crackling with arcs of untamed power.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON TALON!"
I brought my heel down in a devastating axe kick, a claw of pure lightning driving the serpent back down into the churning water.
It hit with a tidal splash that drenched the cliffside. I landed hard on the slick stone, skidding to a halt as it recovered, its blind eyes now fixed on my position.
It charged again, a living battering ram of rage and magic.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON RO-O-OAAARRR!"
I met its charge with my own. A massive, concentrated beam of pure lightning erupted from my mouth, engulfing the creature in a blinding torrent of electrical energy.
The roar of the attack drowned out the storm. When the light faded, the serpent had been blasted backward, its slate-gray scales blackened and smoking. But it was still coming.
I grit my teeth, pouring more power into my fist. "LIGHTNING DRAGON DEMOLITION FIST!"
I met it head-on, our collision shaking the very foundations of the cliff.
The impact sent a shockwave through my entire arm, but the serpent recoiled. I pressed the advantage, a blinding blur of motion as I hammered its body with electrified strikes, each blow a small thunderclap.
But I was getting reckless. The beast coiled and whipped its tail, catching me square in the chest and sending me flying backward like a ragdoll.
I crashed hard against the cliff face, the air knocked from my lungs.
"Shiro!" Morgiana's cry of alarm cut through my daze.
The serpent, sensing a new target, turned its massive head toward her on the clifftop. A cold, primal terror shot through me—not for myself, but for her. A deeper, darker power surged to answer it.
With a roar that wasn't entirely my own, I shot forward and grabbed the beast by its tail.
"Your fight… is with… ME!"
My voice came out as a low, monstrous growl. My control was fraying, the edges of my vision turning black as my thoughts were consumed by a singular, violent purpose: destroy.
My eyes were now solid pools of blinding yellow light. I swung the serpent by its tail, its immense weight feeling like nothing, and flung its entire body into the air.
"DIE!" I howled at the sky.
I held one hand out, palm open, as the lightning around me converged into a single point of unbearable brightness.
"RAGING BOLT!"
A massive, trident-shaped spear of pure lightning materialized and shot skyward, impaling the beast in a flash of blinding light. As it fell, I gathered the last of my energy, the very storm clouds above swirling in response to my call.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON SACRED ART… ROLLING THUNDER!"
The lightning around me coalesced into a massive, churning sphere of destruction. I hurled it forward.
The attack struck the falling serpent with the force of a meteor, and the world dissolved into a cataclysm of white light and deafening thunder.
The last thing I felt was a profound, bone-deep exhaustion before my consciousness winked out.
….
High on the cliff, Pisti and Morgiana watched the blinding explosion, shielding their eyes. As the light faded, they saw the water serpent's body dissolving into motes of blue light, the seals on its skin breaking one by one.
"He did it!" Pisti shouted, tears of joy and relief streaming down her face. "He actually did it!"
"Yes," Morgiana breathed, a rare, wide smile on her face. "He did."
But their celebration was cut short. Down below, Shiro's unconscious body was suddenly engulfed in the same violent, yellow aura from the fight.
He rose to his feet, but his movements were stiff, unnatural. He tilted his head back, and when he looked up at them, his eyes were still glowing with that feral, mindless light.
"Shiro!" Pisti cried out, her joy turning to ice-cold dread.
Morgiana immediately dropped into a fighting stance, her expression grim. "That's not Shiro," she said, her voice low.
"No…" Pisti whispered, her hand flying to her mouth. "He couldn't have… he fell to the rage."
With an inhuman snarl, the thing that was wearing Shiro's face lunged, scaling the cliff in a series of impossible bounds. It attacked with wild, powerful swipes, but its movements were sloppy, driven by pure instinct.
Pisti and Morgiana, with their refined skill, easily dodged every telegraphed attack he threw at them.

Shiro Pov:-
I was trapped in a black void, a helpless passenger in my own body. I was forced to watch through my own eyes as I tried to tear apart the very people who had helped me. I screamed, but no sound came out. I fought for control, but my limbs wouldn't obey. I could only watch in horror.
Then, a new sound cut through the roaring rage. It was a melody—clear, pure, and impossibly beautiful. It was a sound of peace, of calm waters and gentle breezes. I felt the rage inside me recoil from it, like a creature of darkness from the sun.
The beautiful music wrapped around me, soothing the storm, and I felt a wave of exhaustion so heavy it was like sinking into the deepest ocean. The last thing I saw was darkness.
….
As Shiro's berserker form lunged again, Pisti pulled a beautiful golden flute to her lips and began to play. The melody that flowed from it was serene and powerful, a magic that didn't attack the body, but calmed the soul.
The raging yellow aura around Shiro flickered. He stopped his attack, clutching his head as if in pain. The feral light in his eyes wavered, then finally extinguished, returning to their normal color. The tension drained from his body, and he collapsed. Morgiana moved in a flash, catching him before he hit the ground.
At the same time, the world around them began to dissolve. The cliffs, the sea, the very sky began to pixelate and fade into motes of white and blue light. The magical prison, its keeper now gone, was collapsing. As the last of the island disappeared, they too were enveloped in a gentle, white light.
They reappeared not in a flash, but in a soft fade, finding themselves in a quiet park at twilight. The sounds of distant city traffic replaced the crashing waves. They were sitting on a wooden bench, and Morgiana gently helped Pisti arrange the unconscious Shiro so he could rest.
….
Pisti's Pov:-
We sat on the bench in the cool evening air, the strange adventure already feeling like a dream. We had Shiro resting across both of our laps—his head was nestled in mine, his body stretched across Morgiana's.
He was so still, so peaceful now. He shifted slightly in his sleep, snuggling closer into my lap with a soft sigh. I couldn't help but smile, gently brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead. It was then that I saw his eyelids flutter.
….
Shiro Pov:-
I woke to the gentle chirping of crickets and the feeling of something soft beneath my head.
My body ached, but it was a distant, dull pain. I felt… safe. I opened my eyes slowly, my vision blurry at first. I saw the dusky sky, then the concerned face of Pisti looking down at me.
My brain slowly rebooted, processing the warmth against my back, the firm support under my legs, the fact that I was currently using both Pisti's and Morgiana's laps as a pillow.
My eyes shot wide open. I shot up as if I'd been electrocuted, scrambling off the bench and landing awkwardly on my feet.
"Shiro?" Morgiana asked, blinking in surprise at my sudden movement.
My face felt incredibly hot. I couldn't look at them. "What?" I mumbled, my voice cracking.
Pisti giggled, a bright, musical sound that made my blush deepen. "Oh, look at him! He's blushing!" she said, her voice full of teasing delight. "He's shy! It's so cute, I love shy guys."
