"Hahaha!" On the moon, Mōryō let out a wild, unrestrained laugh.
"Kaguya's power! Kaguya's power!"
Through the Ten Tails, the Rinnegan, and Black Zetsu, Mōryō had successfully established a connection with Kaguya. However, since Kaguya was still sealed away, he could only absorb her power unilaterally while she, trapped, was unable to resist.
RUMBLE!
Suddenly, a tremendous sound erupted from deep within the moon. The entire celestial body trembled violently, as if it were on the verge of collapsing.
But after a moment, the shaking subsided, vanishing without a trace. Yet, from the core of the moon, an overwhelming and pure energy surged forth.
This force clashed against Mōryō, temporarily halting his absorption.
Mōryō clicked his tongue in irritation. "Six Paths, are you out of tricks?"
"You actually dared to unseal part of Kaguya to fight against me."
"But it's useless! My power surpasses your imagination. All I need is a little more time, and I will suppress this resistance."
Indeed, in ancient times, Mōryō had not been this powerful. But he was unique—he was the embodiment of all the malice born from living beings.
As Kaguya and the Sage of Six Paths established their rule, war and bloodshed still persisted. However, overall prosperity grew, and the number of living beings—especially humans—increased exponentially. With them, so did their accumulated malice.
Thus, Mōryō grew stronger.
Centuries ago, he managed to secretly break through the barriers that once contained him. He launched a war that swept across the world, nearly securing victory.
His immense growth was the reason for this.
But in his impatience, he made a fatal misstep. His failure led to him being sealed into the body of a pure-hearted priestess, which not only shackled him in physical form but also significantly weakened him.
Having learned his lesson, this time he devised a meticulous plan, using his fellow ancient gods as bait—all to achieve his ultimate goal:
Devouring Kaguya!
Now, every force capable of threatening him was occupied on that planet below. All he needed was a little more time to complete his objective—then he would reign supreme over this world!
Of course, there was one unexpected deviation in his plan—the death of Eight-Headed Serpent. Originally, Mōryō had intended to send the beast to attack Village of Heaven.
But with Eight-Headed Serpent dead, he was forced to divide a portion of his own power as bait. This meant he had to struggle against Kaguya's resistance longer than planned. Otherwise, he would have crushed it instantly.
Still, that was the only miscalculation.
Or so he believed.
But clearly, someone else had a different opinion.
A colossal white serpent slithered across the moon's surface, its body covered in thick, gleaming scales. It moved with eerie fluidity, its vast form stretching like a winding river across the lunar landscape.
Raising its head, the massive creature towered like a mountain. Its eyes, as vast as stars, gleamed with insatiable greed as it fixated on the stalemated Mōryō. A long, red tongue flickered out, releasing a sibilant hiss.
"White Snake! How are you here?!"
The newcomer was none other than the White Snake Sage.
Mockery laced the serpent's voice. "Mōryō, your schemes were transparent to me long ago."
"Now that I have devoured Eight-Headed Serpent, my power has grown tremendously."
"My next targets are you and Kaguya."
He had deliberately allowed Orochimaru to act freely, anticipating that the rogue shinobi would lead others to kill Eight-Headed Serpent. After consuming its head, the White Snake Sage not only grew stronger but also disrupted Mōryō's plans.
And now, the perfect opportunity had arrived.
Mōryō sneered, his countless crimson eyes locking onto the serpent.
"White Snake, you underestimate me. Even with Eight-Headed Serpent's power, you are still far beneath me."
"Is that so?" The confidence in the White Snake Sage's voice unsettled Mōryō.
Could that treacherous serpent have another hidden card?
Wait—
Just as the thought surfaced, searing pain tore through Mōryō's body. A milky-white energy erupted from within, ravaging his insides with reckless abandon.
"It's that human who inherited your power!" Mōryō realized too late. When he had devoured the Rinnegan and Black Zetsu, he had also consumed Yakushi Kabuto.
But Kabuto had been a planted pawn from the very beginning. The power hidden within him had never been assimilated and, at this crucial moment, struck a fatal blow from within.
"Mōryō, suffer for your greed!" The White Snake Sage declared. Then, opening its enormous jaws, it lunged toward Mōryō, enacting a grotesque reversal of nature—a serpent consuming an elephant-sized foe.
"No! White Snake! You bastard!" Mōryō's furious, despairing roar echoed as Kaguya's power held him in place, rendering him unable to resist the serpent's devouring maw.
"Ssss..." The White Snake Sage let out a low, satisfied chuckle as it feasted, reveling in its victory.
Then, another twist.
A titanic black sword suddenly pierced through both the White Snake Sage and Mōryō, skewering them together in a single, brutal thrust.
Who?!
Both creatures turned their gaze toward the source of the attack.
A mountainous black figure loomed behind them—a war god forged from chakra and other formidable energies. Though not a physical entity, its sheer presence was overwhelming.
At its core hovered a red-cloaked figure, arms crossed, exuding an unrivaled aura of dominance.
Twin Rinnegan eyes glowed ominously.
"Looks like the final winner is me," Uchiha Madara declared.
Using Mōryō's power, he had awakened a new Rinnegan. Furthermore, he had absorbed the sealed energy of Mōryō. Their similar natures made integration effortless.
At this moment, Madara's power rivaled that of a Jinchūriki of the Ten Tails.
Of course, in direct combat, he still wasn't on par with Kaguya, the White Snake Sage, or Mōryō individually.
But the three of them were now locked in an eerie equilibrium—helplessly trapped, ripe for the taking.
Once he fully assimilated Mōryō's energy, Madara was confident he would reach an unparalleled pinnacle. No so-called ancient gods, no Sage of Six Paths, no progenitor of chakra would be able to stop him!
"No! You insignificant mortal!" Mōryō bellowed in helpless rage as his energy was relentlessly siphoned away through the black sword.
He felt it—his end had come.
With a final, impotent cry, Mōryō was completely drained.
What emerged was Uchiha Madara, wreathed in swirling black energy, his aura beyond comprehension.
"Now, what's your answer?" He cast a commanding gaze at the White Snake Sage.
The massive serpent, feeling the overwhelming force before it, wisely prostrated itself.
"I obey your will."
