Fifth day since the Doomsday Game descended, still a stormy rain.
Before dawn, Zhou Bai was already up, heading straight for the Heroic Spirit Hall, and summoned two NPCs in succession.

Looking at the stats of the two new NPCs, Zhou Bai didn't hesitate to hire them.
Because the two NPCs summoned today clearly matched her prayer yesterday, both had strong combat ability.
When they appeared, they were met with Zhou Bai's passionate smile.
"Greetings, Lord." Alike and Heidi both greeted respectfully.
Zhou Bai had figured out how to treat these summoned NPCs: they used to be humans, and after death, as undead, they weren't used to the Undead Kingdom, so being summoned here was good for them; naturally, none were forced.
As for that Dwarf undead, his attitude was entirely because of his disdain for humans.
But though he looked down, anything he was entrusted with was handled without sloppiness.
So, in Zhou Bai's view, hiring NPCs might cost more, but the value for money is genuinely high.
Thinking this, Zhou Bai handed them two sets of rainproof gear. "After dawn, report to Bayer at the barracks, follow all his orders."
She'd already decided, from now on, any combatant she could refresh, she'd hire, and send them all to the barracks, to maximize the territory's combat power.
"Understood."
After giving the usual instructions, Zhou Bai went back to bed for a nap.
**
Cao Jingshan suddenly jolted awake from his dreams, quickly glanced around, saw his wife and daughter were beside him, and let out a long breath.
In his dream, the team encountered a demon beast, and his wife and daughter got into trouble.
Thankfully, it was just a dream.
Carefully climbing out of bed, he put on his soldier's leather armor, then tiptoed quietly out the door.
As soon as he stepped outside, the quiet world instantly became lively.
Many people wore rainproof gear and were training directly in the rain. Many of their faces looked familiar to Cao Jingshan—those who joined the territory with him yesterday—their levels didn't exceed level 5, and to enhance their strength, they had to find their own ways to improve themselves first.
From the old residents, they'd learned that they could now develop all sorts of skills. Combat skills for fighting, life skills for living; both could gain Experience Points, only the life skills grew a bit slower.
Aside from training, some residents were gathering with their usual teams, preparing to go out. Some residents took jobs at the dining hall or helped build roads in the territory as employees, some went to the grocery store to buy materials needed for crafting—umbrellas, wooden beds, wooden bowls and other daily supplies...
Everyone had found their place in Hope Village, each doing their part.
Watching this, Cao Jingshan felt his heart inexplicably settle.
With a slight smile at the corner of his lips, Cao Jingshan stepped onto the stone road laid yesterday, heading for the barracks.
"Cao Jingshan!"
At that moment, someone tapped his shoulder from behind, and when he turned, it was Feng Lezhi, a member of the soldier team.
"You're heading to the barracks, right? Let's go together?" Feng Lezhi greeted warmly; he was genuinely impressed with how Cao Jingshan managed to bring a bunch of old, weak, sick, and disabled safely to their territory. Now that they were both in the soldier team, he wanted to make a new friend.
"Sure." Cao Jingshan nodded, he was quite willing to mingle with the old residents to fit into the territory better.
The two walked together toward the barracks, along the way meeting more soldier team members, their group getting larger and larger.
When they passed the gate of the prison, they ran right into Yu Ziming and his team.
Yu Ziming saw Cao Jingshan and the leather armor he wore, a hint of embarrassment flashed in his eyes, then he pretended not to see them and headed for the unfinished road.
