Chapter 52 - Chapter 040: Overlord Village Attacks_2

After they walked away, Yu Ziming turned back, thinking of Cao Jingshan's moment of glory, then comparing it to his own loneliness, and a thought surfaced in his mind.

Does the territory offer him a chance to redeem himself?

If there is, he's determined to seize it.

**

When Cao Jingshan and his group arrived at the barracks, the forty members of the soldier team had already all gathered.

Bayer and Danis were already waiting, and beside them stood two more figures.

The man carried a quiver on his back and held a bow in his hand.

The woman was draped in a black robe, holding a magic wand in her hand.

Everyone knew the Heroic Spirit Hall would spawn two NPCs daily, and by the looks of these two, it was clear they were today's summoned NPCs.

And they were an Archer and a Mage!

[Archer · Alike]

[Mage · Heidi]

Once they realized this, everyone at the scene grew a little excited.

Especially the new archers recruited yesterday; now that there's an Archer, their training today was bound to be even more refined.

As for the others, they were curious and eager about the Mage.

Yesterday, Danis showed off a healing spell—he muttered a few words, and just like that, healed a person's wounds, restoring their Life Value to the best possible state. Basically, a walking healer—anyone who's gamed knows this is an absolute must in any squad.

They all knew that after Level 10, professions would emerge. Nobody knew if they'd get the chance to become a Mage.

Mages really are amazing!

In the team, Zhengping looked at the newly summoned NPCs; he was a bit surprised, since when he went out this morning, Zhou Bai was still asleep. But he figured Zhou Bai must've gotten up early to summon them in the dark.

Thinking about the conversation he had with Li Xingteng yesterday, he reckoned Zhou Bai's chances of exposure were actually quite low.

As everyone's thoughts drifted, Bayer spoke up, "You all know soldiers can change class in eight directions, but for now, during the territory's early development stage, I will focus on three types: infantry, shield soldiers, and archers. Earlier, when twenty of you changed class in my absence, some of you went other directions, but that's fine. Below Level 10, the distinctions aren't significant anyway. So, the original soldier team one will train as infantry, soldier team two will train as shield soldiers, and the twenty new archers recruited yesterday will train as archers."

"Understood."

After giving instructions to the soldiers, Bayer looked at Danis, Alike, and Heidi, "In a moment, Danis and I will lead the infantry and shield soldier teams for training outside. The archers will be handed over to Alike and Heidi. The squad leaders of the bowman team will be designated based on your performance. Any questions?"

It had to be said, with Alike and Heidi, Bayer finally gained a bit of confidence in military development.

Honestly, the territory's financial strength was beyond his expectations.

Since the Lord had given him enough support, he was determined not to disappoint her!

"No," Alike and Heidi answered in unison. Their expressions remained chilly, but their eyes revealed traces of excitement—returning to the Human Territory felt really good.

Once things were settled, the whole soldier team split into two groups, each led by different NPCs as they left the barracks.

After leaving the barracks, they didn't immediately step out of the territory; instead, they headed straight for the Blacksmith Shop.

Inside the Blacksmith Shop, Harrison looked at Bayer and the new NPCs and said coldly: "Everything's here! Hurry up and collect your stuff."

His face was sour, but his actions weren't rude—after all, the Level made a difference!

He never expected Zhou Bai would summon so many undead in succession, all humans, all higher leveled, outnumbering him. Even if he was proud of being a Dwarf, he didn't dare show off.

Besides, he didn't want to be dismissed and sent back to the Undead Kingdom next month, so when Zhou Bai made him prepare a batch of bows and shields last night, he had no choice but to stay up and comply.

Now he just wanted to send them off and finally get some rest.

This batch of equipment really drained a lot of his Physical Value.

Bayer and the others didn't care about Harrison's attitude—or rather, they'd long gotten used to other races' disdain for humans.

Once they grabbed the weapons, Bayer and company distributed them, then led their teams out for training.

Just after leaving the city gates, Zhengping glanced at the empty main gate and couldn't help but ask, "Territory War could break out any time—shouldn't we have someone watching the gate?"

"Generally, challengers in Territory War won't attack during extreme weather—it's way too resource intensive. Especially for village-level battles; it almost never happens. So, no need to specifically guard it. Even if the enemy goes off-script and attacks during this weather, our territory walls won't be breached quickly. We'll have time to rush back and defend," Bayer explained.

"Got it. Thanks." Zhengping replied earnestly.

The presence of local NPCs was incredibly important to them.

Bayer said nothing more and continued leading his team out. Meanwhile, Alike and Heidi discussed briefly and then headed off in a completely different direction.

**

For the next two days, the torrential rain persisted, and the territory underwent further change.

Four new combat NPCs added to the barracks;

With the territory as the center, roads extending outward were completed, and more survivors arrived;

Thanks to training, infantry, shield soldiers, and archers gradually took shape, and their numbers doubled;

...

On the eighth day after the Doomsday Game descended, the rain stopped, and the weather turned clear.

That morning, Zhou Bai woke up to a system notification.

[Dear Host, Overlord Village has launched a Territory War against Hope Village. The raid may happen at any time. As the challenged side, please prepare for siege defense.]

[Note: Village-level Territory War. Duration: 24 hours.]
