The students below us noticed our commotion, their eyes fixed on the rooftop as we created a ruckus. I could see the stern glare of the P.E. teacher directed our way, warning us to settle down.

"Quick, duck! Move away from the railing!" I hissed in a panic, instinctively trying to get everyone to safety. But when I looked around, I realized they had already backed away, leaving me standing alone at the edge. 'Traitors,' I thought bitterly, feeling a mix of frustration and embarrassment.

Suddenly, my gaze met Aiden's from below. He raised his fingers, forming a heart, then pretended to aim an arrow at me. My cheeks flushed as I saw him make the gesture—such a playful, teasing move.

The surrounding students caught sight of his gesture and turned their attention to me, teasing and whispering among themselves. I quickly pulled my hoodie over my face, attempting to hide my embarrassment.
