Chapter 23 - Price of a Miracle

The fifty-thousand-credit offer remained on Luna's phone while Vell left Jarrow's table. Selling the repair recipe would fund a workshop, but it would also let one buyer decide who received it.

"One supervised repair," Vell said, taking the phone from her, "the bidders show us their patient and funding source."

Yenna checked the clinic shutters from beside the locked door before reading the broker messages again. The Ivory trust behind one offer had hidden its last digits, though it had failed to hide the collection code.

"They will send a proxy," she said, copying the code, "then call the patient an asset when nobody objects."

Luna converted Jarrow's upper room into neutral ground before the offers spread further. Every bidder placed twelve thousand credits into separate escrow accounts, with automatic refunds if Blackforge rejected the case.
