Kana came through Blackforge's front door before the first applicant reached the shutter. Vell had left the lock open after seeing her leave the roof, because a closed door would only make her choose a worse entrance.
Yenna stood beside the counter with one chain looped loosely around her wrist. Luna remained behind the treatment tarp, where a spear from the door could not reach her.
She noticed all three positions before speaking, confirming that the roof watch had not been an accident. Her spear case stayed on her back, though the strap sat unfastened under one hand.
"Are you controlling corrupted hunters now?" Kana asked, looking past Yenna toward the treatment room.
Vell set a recorder stone beside the ledger, then pressed its small switch. The device clicked once, which was the only answer he gave her at first.
"You followed a Directorate trace to ask that?" he asked, keeping both hands visible on the counter.
