Chase looked around the grand hall that festered with life, bards from across The City of Solis continued to strum together in perfect harmony, marking the sounds before the army left for Equus.
Sitting upon his throne, Chase could feel the gazes of focused energy resting on his powerful figure.
His eyes no doubt looked as lifeless as they felt, and yet Chase could see so much more now.
Luna had told him that he would receive his sight back when the time was right, but since they hadn't had enough time to train properly, he would have to learn to "See" with more than just his eyes, as she had told him.
Leaning back against the warm gold of his throne, he sighed softly.
His mind felt numb, almost fractured from the terrible collection of nightmares that had broken his walls down and rebuilt them incorrectly, yet somehow, they felt stronger than ever before.
He wondered if the mind was like a muscle, and the more you tore it down, the stronger it would be rebuilt.
Not that it truly mattered in the end.
Either way, he would face Rider in the throne room, and he would burn The Kingdom of Equus to the very ground.
"Chase."
A familiar feminine voice called out underneath the vibrant noise of the skilled bards.
Chase tilted his head, raising an eyebrow at the Ivory Princess.
Her energy looked strange, as thousands of white particles floated around her powerful figure.
"Are you alright? You look angry..."
Poppy asked, although Chase could not see expression, he could tell that she was tense by the way her energy quickly condensed as she spoke.
Chase nodded slowly, resting his chin against the cold materials of his glove.
She must have been frowning deeply.
"Have fun. You do not know if you will return after all is said and done..."
She said quietly, not daring to disrespect him in any way, mainly because he held the status of king now, and she actually held a lower status than him for once.
Although she probably didn't really care about that and just didn't want to cause a scene.
He sighed deeply.
"I am fine, I just need some time to think..."
He said eventually, shutting his eyes as he felt the energy signatures by the thousands move and dance through the hall as the music continued.
The place was sure as hell lively, but Chase just needed to focus on the people, the energy, and most importantly- the meaning behind all of it... The synchronicities of how everything clicked together.
He was gazing onward behind his shut eyelids, watching as the very matter around him built up and broke down faster than any human could understand, and yet he still felt like he was missing something.
He had been told that he would not understand the first seal until he began to break the second one, which he didn't even know how to reach the second seal yet, and that wasn't even accounting for what it could do to him physically and mentally.
If the first seal could have easily destroyed his mind and body, he would most likely need to reach the output of a Paladin before he could even learn of the second seal.
Frowning deeply, he held out a hand as Lithica set a cup in his palm.
"My lord, what does it look like?"
Chase only scowled, sipping from his expensive ale that didn't even taste good.
"Like chaos..."
Was the only way that he could describe such a confusing sight.
If he expanded his senses, he could possibly feel the energy of the entire city that surrounded Phoenix Academy, it could tear his brain apart, but if he prepared his mind for such a feat, he would be able to have an intake of inhuman amounts of information as every second passed.
He would know the exact population of people within the kingdom, know where everyone was, and even know who the strongest children enrolling in the academy would be before they even knew of their own affinities.
Then... The bell began to chime as the hours passed.
The bards had stopped playing, and a group of talented women had begun to sing with perfect melody.
The air was cold, and Chase slowly began to pull his heavy body up.
Slowly stepping down from his throne, he made no attempt at speaking, and only slowly walked as drums started to sound in the background.
People began to gather themselves, as members of the army took arms.
Some were panicked, others were prepared and silent.
Chase; however, did not know what he felt.
He continued walking down the path that led to the door, until he had left the academy gates, followed by countless men and women.
All of which carried powerful energy signatures, as well as potent weapons and armor.
Chase had already donned his armor, as well as his sword that rested within his sheathe.
Walking forward, he spotted the weak signatures of several horses, as well as small metallic particles that made up the matter of the carriages that would take them East...
The time was upon them, and soon.
Chase would get to avenge all who had fallen to Rider's blade...
