Equan looked onward at the mighty city before him, resting on the edge of the towering outer wall of The Kingdom of Equus.
The sun was beginning to set over the horizon, as the stench of blood filled the air.
Behind him, along the twenty meter wide walkways of the wester wall, countless bodies lined the lookout points of every direction even remotely close to viewing the Western horizon.
Equan pulled a finger length cylinder of thin paper filled with tobacco. As he dangled his legs off of the edge, watching the sun slowly disappear from sight, he snapped his fingers near the edge of the cigarette, sparking smoke with his lightning.
Inhaling the cloud of smoke, he immediately began to caught, and throwing the disgusting cigarette he had bought with the last of his money off of the edge of the towering wall.
Gabriel had gone to meet Chase and his oncoming army at the outside entrance of the sewer systems.
Leaving Equan to his thoughts, coughing and gagging from the terrible thing that he couldn't believe Luke would go through about six of on the daily.
Now with a terrible headache, he awaited for the time to strike midnight.
Behind him... A grand city surrounded by walls had no clue that an entire army would soon arrive from underneath its very nose.
At the center of the vast kingdom, a mighty circular castle rose into the air, scratching against the clouds with its centermost tower.
The very tower where Rider's throne room resided...
Leaning forward, resting his elbows on his plate-covered thighs, and his chin on the both of his palms, he let out one last sigh of peace.
...
At the slope of the far Northern mountains, beyond the desert, beyond the cold lands of Auroria, and even farther past the lands of the giants... The storm ridden cliffs of the distant North overlooked the entirety of Vallmora...
Volaris brought the warm edge of his cup to his lips, letting the cold harsh liquid rush down his throat.
Lightning cracked in every direction, as he let his legs dangle off of the ledge overlooking the kingdom he had always loved.
Below him... He looked downward with awe as he took in the sight of the mighty frozen over mountain tops that were nothing in comparison to the storm cliffs that were the only home he had known.
Beyond that, lie the forgotten valleys that no map had ever been able to mark, let alone any adventurer had ever seen with their own two eyes.
And beyond that and towards the East, stretched out over the horizon were the frozen lands of Auroria, where the king covered in Ice ruled over.
Constant Northern lights covered the frozen lands, which made Volaris quite jealous, considering that his kingdom was the farthest North a man could go, but that did not stop the influence of The Ice King from stealing the Northern lights, and extending them over his own kingdom.
towards the West, and past the forgotten valleys, lie a vast desert spanning far South. There one could find the kingdoms of Cinderveil and Sandstorm Valley... As well as Shadowspire, which sat on the edge of the desert...
The desert continued North for quite a while, until a great shattering had separated the four lands, but mighty mountains stretched towards the ends of the desert just as the other kingdoms had of their own variety.
The Dwarven Kingdoms lie within those mountains...
Volaris let out a wistful sigh, knowing full well that Prometheus, the king of the lesser gods had been slain, the first lesser god to be slain by a human since the age of Orion...
He knew that Luna had been correct, and maybe Prometheus had known it in his dying breath as well.
They needed Champions who could fight against the monsters that were arising within these vast lands.
Volaris pulled a small pendant from his torn robes.
The mark of a lightning bolt etched into its metallic surface.
"I... The Lesser God of Lightning and Storms alike... Imbue this sacred metal with my very being, as well as my very soul. So that the day may come when a Champion of The House of Lightning may arise..."
As he spoke, the lightning of the cliffs grew louder.
Somewhere far higher within the cliffs, a dragon let out a mighty roar.
The time was near...
