Gabriel snuck behind the half wall of the cafeteria, deciding he could finally take a look at what was happening.
Behind him, Neveah and the strange angel were hiding behind the corridor's edge, awaiting the rogue's orders.
Gabriel lifted his head...
'Damn...'
Within the cafeteria, tables had been flipped over, chairs had broken, and several former students were working jobs of hard labor as chains had been wrapped around their necks.
Probably thirty or more guards were laughing away, as the students continued to carry large boxes toward the only upright table in the room, where gemstones had been scattered about, and a very skinny man in robes was sitting behind said table, muttering to himself as he picked apart what looked like a diamond.
The students were in rows at the center of the room, each holding what Gabe had assumed was more gemstones within the crates, as they transferred them from a boar with a saddle on it, and a large trailer of sorts attached to its back legs.
Gabriel held his back hand outward in a flat motion, notifying his allies that it was time to move up.
Which they did, albeit quite clumsily, Gabriel was shocked that none of them had alerted the guards.
Once they were all behind the half wall, Lithica began to whisper.
"There are nearly forty guards, each armed to the teeth, and then there is one more at the end of the room, he is probably the most dangerous..."
His voice trailed off as his golden eyes locked onto the boar.
"Blasphemy..."
Neveah tilted her head, and Gabriel grimaced.
"What is it?"
Neveah whispered.
Then that was when she probably spotted it for herself.
The head of a woman had been chained to the side of the boar...
"Professor-"
"Shhhh!"
Gabriel covered the trembling girl's mouth, as the three of them had realized that the Primis Insight teacher had been killed and her body paraded around like a prize of war...
Gabriel turned towards Chase's powerful servant, as if the two of them had came to the same conclusion.
"We begin then? Yes?"
Lithica asked, as a small orb of light started to levitate above Lithica's hand.
Gabriel drew his new daggers, feeling guilt as he remembered that such a powerful weapon was still residing and rusting away within his catalyst, but he had abandoned such a way long ago...
"On your mark?"
Lithica asked, awaiting Gabriel's first move.
"No point in delaying it then..."
Gabriel said, as he jumped the half wall, charging straight at the first guard.
He lifted his daggers and swiftly pierced the back of the man's throat, and started moving towards the next guard.
Behind him, Neveah let out a war cry as she swung down with that mighty great sword of hers, crushing the knees of a soldier.
Lithica had begun to levitate above the floor, as beams of light started to fire from the small orb that had once seemed like a mere decoration.
The angel let out a fury of piercing rays of light that pierced through several men, somehow avoiding every hostage student within the room but ending the lives of around half of the enemies at the same time.
Gabriel darted towards the back of the room, not letting his eyes waver from the robed man who was not doubt the strongest enemy this team would have to face.
He slide under the table before the man could even react, coming out from the other end and embedding his daggers into the back of the man's robe.
"Die..."
Gabriel whispered as he twisted both daggers with rage showing from underneath his black hood.
Then...
The man started to chuckle, and Gabriel had once again underestimated an opponent.
"Neveah! Free the stu-"
Gabriel was launched toward the back of the room, crashing through a window and landing against one of the kitchen stoves.
His back groaned, but the new fabrics of his armor had protected him from getting completely paralyzed from such powerful force.
He cursed as he tried to pull himself up, remembering that they had been tasked with clearing the second and third floors...
However, on their way to one of the back staircases, they had discovered the hostages within the cafeteria, and chosen that this was the best place to attack, thinking that it would not take more than a couple of minutes.
Gabriel had made a grave miscalculation, as the man's robes fell off of his back from the other side of the ruined kitchen window...
Luckily, Lithica had already made his mark, descending down with a powerful flap of his ivory wings.
Once the man's robes fell, revealing terrible crimson markings running down his spine, Gabriel cursed once more.
Lithica landed on top of the man, scratching his chest open with the strike of the tips of his wings.
But then a ball of fire surrounded the two, as the robed man began to laugh.
The fire expanded, taking up half of the cafeteria, and then it imploded with Lithica inside of the radius...
'Shit...'
Gabriel lunged over top of the kitchen window, immediately running straight towards the powerful mage who was standing there uninjured.
Time froze mid step, as Gabriel felt the weight of the world crash down on him. The mage turned around, grinning with his cracked lips, as his cold crimson eyes showed nothing more than bloodlust.
Then red energy began to form around the wrist of the mage, and a terribly long sword started to form from that raw and unshackled energy.
Gabriel could not see Lithica, and Neveah was in the midst of fighting off two soldiers while at the same time striking the chains holding several students down.
Gabriel braced himself as before he could even move, the blade of the sword was already flying at his neck.
A scream echoed throughout the room once Gabriel snapped his eyes shut, but upon realizing that he hadn't been decapitated, Lithica had returned.
But it was not a sight any soldier wanted to see happen to a man on their side.
Lithica's wings had been charred completely to the bone, and his body was littered was wounds the size of aetherballs.
However, it appeared that the angel was no angel at all, as his orb of light had been condensed further, and then reshapen...
Lithica launched a vertical strike of the great katana glowing with golden aethereal light as his own blood flew across the room from the sheer speed of the being.
The angel was truly a monster...
