"How long does it take you to create such a large Hearth Diamond?"
On Lugia's back, John took Diancie to Grassmere City.
"It must have been more than ten years, and the making process was on and off, so I can't remember clearly," Diancie thought carefully before answering.
"More than ten years." John remembered that the Hearth Diamond he'd seen in the cave was indeed several times larger than the one from the anime movie.
The on-and-off nature showed this Hearth Diamond wasn't created all at once.
"Can I ask you to continue making Hearth Diamonds?"
Diancie agreed without hesitation. "If that place is completely safe, I will continue making them."
Based on safety, she would of course continue producing Hearth Diamonds, not only for John, but also for her own people.
Soon, John brought Diancie to his Ranch.
Looking at the entire ranch from above, all kinds of Pokemon ran across grasslands, lived in forests, and rested by lakes. What was amazing was that humans walked roads throughout the ranch, yet they didn't bother the Pokemon around them.
Just by looking, Diancie could feel the harmony and beauty here.
John snapped his fingers.
Gardevoir appeared behind him.
"Get Aggron and Steelix over here."
Gardevoir immediately spread her mental power and told Aggron and Steelix, who were currently resting and training here, to come.
John took Diancie to the distant mountains to check mineral resources. He didn't want to be embarrassed, as a Rock-type Pokemon, Diancie could sense the rich mineral deposits around them far better than he could.
After a while, Aggron and Steelix arrived.
The golden Aggron, whose entire body shone with bright golden light, came closer with earth-shaking steps. Steelix, made of obsidian with flame patterns on its surface, came up from the soil. Its face was as honest as ever, but its huge body made it look even more powerful.
Diancie looked at the two powerful Pokemon in amazement and nodded repeatedly. Even if their strength wasn't quite equal to the Tyranitar she'd fought before, the difference wasn't big.
"Besides them, many other Pokemon live here, so you don't need to worry about safety."
While he spoke, brilliant lights and shadows flew by.
Diancie couldn't help but look up.
They were Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. Since being caught by John, they'd made their home at Grassmere Ranch. Although they'd lost their divine artifacts and could even be said to have lost their "divine seat," spending each day relaxing seemed quite pleasant.
Diancie confirmed the "safety" John had mentioned.
"This is it. I've decided to bring my people here to live."
"You made the right choice." John immediately took Diancie back to her previous home.
Later, John helped Diancie move.
This proved somewhat difficult. Besides moving thousands of Carbink from the Western Region to his Ranch, they also had to move the nearby diamond veins that had formed because of them.
John had to catch several Onix through his Gameboy, and with Aggron's help, finished the task by noon the next day.
Diancie and the Carbink family were fully settled at Grassmere Ranch.
Since John would have a long rest period, Emerald had returned to Grassmere City from the capital to watch over operations. She would handle follow-up matters between Diancie and the Carbink family.
Also, before John left, he returned the Hearth Diamond he'd just gotten to Diancie.
To be exact, he didn't return it to Diancie, but gave it to her for safekeeping, and she would continue using this Hearth Diamond as the base to create larger ones.
John decided that after letting Gardevoir absorb the Fairy-type energy, he'd use the remaining Hearth Diamond as one of the "carriers" for Tyranitar to create divine treasure.
There were simply too few legendary Pokemon among Rock-types.
Being able to use Diancie's Hearth Diamond as a carrier, John felt Tyranitar was lucky.
Since it would serve as a divine treasure carrier, the higher the quality, the better.
Plans to challenge Red were put off for now. Currently, he was working toward the goal of making all his main Pokemon "Kings." There were no major battles to fight for now. On the eve of a major battle, he would take back this Hearth Diamond from Diancie's hands.
With Diancie's situation settled for now, John returned to Qiantang.
Before leaving, John made an appointment with Principal Badman, and also scheduled with the school to enter the Dragon's Nest tomorrow.
Although the Dragon's Nest was Riverstone University's most important resource point, as the school's most outstanding graduate and the current Champion, Riverstone University approved John's appointment request in almost ten seconds.
That night, John and Saul ate and chatted in the school cafeteria.
"You've been in the spotlight again recently," Badman smiled, handing his phone to John.
John looked at it and found it was a video of his Tyranitar King Battle. He suddenly remembered someone had been secretly filming him during the fight.
"It's just beating a relatively powerful Tyranitar. What kind of spotlight could this bring?" John didn't take it seriously and reached for the green pepper stir-fried beef.
The cafeteria lady downstairs probably knew that today's diners were the Champion and the University's principal, so the stir-fried beef with green peppers had more beef and fewer peppers.
"You say beating a relatively powerful Tyranitar isn't a big deal, but winning the throne of the Tyranitar clan isn't normal spotlight. At least now trainers worldwide who use Tyranitar as their ace are all watching you," Badman continued.
John shrugged, showing he didn't care at all.
When you have too many lice, you don't fear more bites. When he'd risen to the Eight Masters position, trainers worldwide had watched him anyway, so how was this different from those trainers who used Tyranitar as their ace?
"Also, that Pokemon with the diamond on its head must be the extremely rare Diancie, right?"
"Yes, and I've settled her at Grassmere Ranch."
Badman's eyes lit up slightly. "Why don't you bring her to the laboratory for research?"
Legendary Pokemon often had qualities that ordinary Pokemon couldn't, just like using Deoxys to study improving self-healing ability.
Once research succeeded, it could help ordinary people and Pokemon.
