From one of his pouches, Ryuu took out a small piece of paper with a complex sealing array drawn on it. He then eyed the still twitching and shaking cult leader before looking at Phoenix and giving a single nod.
Ryuu released the lightning spear that he was maintaining and rushed along with Phoenix towards the twitching cult leader.
As they neared him, they could see the burned and charred through-and-through wound in the cult leader's chest was starting to heal and close at an incredible and worrying pace, making Team Shi know that they had seconds to act while the cult leader was still incapacitated.
Ryuu reached the cult leader first, slapping the small piece of paper with a complex sealing array onto the cult leader's forehead before forming a half Ram seal to activate the sealing tag, with Phoenix arriving a moment later and starting to bind the cult leader with ninja wire.
Ryuu didn't just stop there, even though the seal had activated successfully, with Kanji markings crawling all over the cult leader's body, his hands blurred with a few hand seals before forming a chakra scalpel that he used in a blur to sever all the mobility tendons and muscles of the cult leader, along with nerves starting from his spinal cord.
Ryuu knew that this might not be enough to disable the cult leader, as he might just heal. He was counting on the sealing tag, as it was strong enough to disable and incapacitate a raging Jinchuuriki of Ryuu's caliber.
True to Ryuu's thoughts, the cult leader seemed to have been resisting the sealing tag, as it hadn't fully taken effect, with his previous wound still healing, still conscious, and looking with pure malice, hate, and madness at Team Shi.
But a moment later, the sealing tag had taken full effect, encasing the cult leader with kanji covering his body and glowing slightly as it forcibly stopped all motor functions and the use of chakra while also forcing the cult leader to go unconscious.
Team Shi continued to watch the bound cult leader carefully for a few seconds as the Kanji on his body glowed for a couple more moments before disappearing, leaving an incapacitated and unconscious cult leader whose body had stopped and been prevented from healing while covered with black Kanji.
Ryuu and Phoenix let out a sigh of relief, seeing that this was finally over.
Ryuu looked around the room that they were in, fully taking in the scene of multiple headless bodies and decapitated heads, along with the huge pool of blood covering the floor. He also spotted a couple of doors in the room that seemed to lead to others.
A muffled sound made him look back at the bodies, only to see the decapitated head of the priest looking at him with madness, anger, and hatred.
"Phoenix," Ryuu called, making her look at him.
"There aren't any other signatures in proximity, so secure the other rooms while I look into a way to eliminate the cult leader and his two priests, since conventional ways aren't effective," Ryuu said. To which Phoenix nodded and moved to one of the new doors while Ryuu pulled out his sealing kit.
A few minutes later;
"Buntaicho," Phoenix called as she entered the room where they took down the cult leader.
She saw Ryuu with multiple different sealing tags scattered around him while he was trying another sealing matrix on the decapitated head of the priest, while the cult leader was still in the same place, still bound and out of commission.
"Yes?" Ryuu replied with slight frustration seeping into his voice as he looked at Phoenix.
"There are two rooms attached to here, aside from the altar room. One had multiple cells in it, but they were all empty with no kidnappees in them. The other room seemed to be some kind of study/library filled with scrolls." Phoenix said as she stood beside Ryuu, looking at what he was working on.
Ryuu let out a silent sigh as he looked back at what he was doing.
"The kidnappees are either near Team Ro's route, or… we were too late," Ryuu said with a blank tone as he remembered the bodies in the altar room.
"Have you figured out any way to get rid of them?" Phoenix said while looking at the cult leader and the priest's head.
"Unfortunately, no. All the seals that I can create in the current condition and given time have been insufficient. The best I can do right now is to put them into deep sleep or a state of suspended animation, and if I remove the seals, they wake up after a couple of moments; their rate of recovery is astonishing. The same seals I used can be used to subdue Jinchuuriki. They are so strong that they will seal any ordinary person's organic function as they stop the brain, chakra network, and organs from functioning, leading to their death." Ryuu said with some frustration as Phoenix listened.
Ryuu kept quiet for a few moments, contemplating what to do before letting out a sigh while unsealing two prisoner transport scrolls.
"I will figure this out later, maybe even when I return home. But for now, I will seal them and take them with me, along with the one from earlier. I will go get his body, too." Ryuu said as he sealed the cult leader in a scroll and the priest in another before standing up and walking to the entrance of the altar room to retrieve the headless body of the earlier priest.
After a few moments, Ryuu returned and looked at Phoenix.
"Show me the room where the scrolls you found are; maybe they will have something useful," Ryuu said, to which Phoenix nodded before starting to lead him to the room.
As Phoenix reached the door of the room, she turned around to Ryuu, only to see that he had stopped following her a moment ago and was looking to his left.
"Buntaicho?" Phoenix called with slight confusion, but Ryuu did look at her.
"Phoenix, stay here and watch the place," Ryuu said before disappearing abruptly, leaving Phoenix confused but accepting of the order.
