Chapter 64: Patronus

"But first, I have another potion to test on you," said Dudley, his voice steady.

"Is it that potion?" Hermione asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Yes, Hermione," Dudley replied with a slight nod.

"What potion, Mr. Dursley?" Argus asked, startled.

The girls leaned in, intrigued by the info that Dudley had another potion ready.

Dudley reached into his pocket, pulling out a small vial filled with shimmering liquid. He held it up for everyone to see.

"This is a Focus Potion," Dudley explained. "Its effect is to prolong the duration of any potions that you consume."

A collective gasp escaped from the girls, and even Argus's expression turned comically exaggerated upon hearing this.

"Mr. Dursley... do you mean...?" Argus started.

"Yes," Dudley confirmed. "According to my research, the Maxima Potion's effects last around twenty minutes, which you've already experienced firsthand. But with the Focus Potion, those effects could extend to three hours."

The room fell silent for a moment, the magnitude of the statement sinking in. Then a murmur of astonishment spread among the girls.

"So, I'll need you to drink both the Maxima Potion and this Focus Potion," Dudley said, pulling out an extra vial of the Maxima Potion.

A greedy gleam flashed in Argus's eyes as he stared at the two potions. Dudley, fully aware of Argus's excitement, handed him the Focus Potion first.

Argus snatched the vial eagerly and downed the liquid in one swift gulp. Almost immediately, something unexpected began to happen. The reaction was nothing like what Dudley had experienced. When Dudley had consumed the Focus Potion, his magic flowed seamlessly, thanks to the system that ensured his magical input and output functioned at 100% levels. Argus, however, was different.

As a Squib, his body had multiple blockages, and his dormant magical DNA complicated things. As soon as the Focus Potion entered his system, his body began to steam, beads of sweat forming rapidly. But this was no ordinary sweat—it was black and foul-smelling, filling the room with an acrid odor.

Argus gasped for air, panic flashing in his eyes. Everyone froze, unsure of what to do, even Dudley, who found himself momentarily paralyzed by the unexpected turn of events. Then, suddenly, he remembered.

"I have a mage sight," he muttered to himself, silently activating his gamer's mode.

Through his Mage Sight, Dudley observed the magical traces running through Argus's body. The potion was doing more than just enhancing magic—it was purging impurities. The black substance seeping from Argus's pores was actually toxic material that had been clogging his nervous system for years.

Dudley's mind raced as he watched the scene unfold. This isn't some cliché martial arts novel, right? he thought, still in disbelief.

After several long minutes, the magic within Argus finally settled, and Dudley deactivated his gamer's mode. When the black substance ceased to ooze from Argus's body, the change in him became apparent.

The girls gasped audibly as Argus, who had always looked frail and worn, now appeared revitalized. His scrawny frame had filled out slightly, and the wrinkles that had lined his face for so long seemed to have disappeared. He looked... younger.

"Did I just create a beauty potion?" Dudley muttered under his breath, still trying to process what had just happened.

"Dudley... was that really a Focus Potion?" Hermione asked, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"Dudley, do you have any extra?" One of the girls chimed in, unable to contain her excitement.

Even Argus, feeling the remarkable change in his body, seemed stunned. The constant back pain he had grown accustomed to had vanished, and he felt more energetic than he had in years.

"Dudley, what is this potion? I feel healthier than I've ever been," Argus said, marveling at his own body.

Dudley, still recovering from the shock himself, nodded. "Here, take this Maxima Potion," he said, handing it over. "I want to see how long your magic lasts this time."

Without hesitation, Argus gulped down the second potion. Dudley kept a close eye on the clock, mentally noting the exact time Argus had consumed it. Moments later, a surge of power coursed through Argus's body, and he let out an uncontrollable laugh.

"Hahahaha!" Argus bellowed, his voice booming through the room.

"Now," Dudley instructed, "try using the magic I taught you earlier."

Argus grabbed the wand that had been lying on his desk and raised it. With a flick, he cast a simple Lumos spell. Instantly, the tip of the wand lit up, casting a bright glow around the office.

"It worked," Argus said, grinning like a child with a new toy.

"Good," Dudley said, pleased with the result. "But there's one more spell I think you'll enjoy."

"And what spell is that?" Argus asked, his interest clearly piqued.

"This spell... is the Patronus Charm," Dudley said with a knowing smile.

"Wait... are you serious?" Susan blurted out in disbelief.

"Patronus? That's a NEWT-level spell! For Mr. Argus to attempt something so advanced—" Hannah added, clearly skeptical.

Hermione chimed in, "I think you should teach him something else. The Patronus is—"

"Argus," Dudley interrupted, ignoring the protests, "this spell might be NEWT-level, but Harry Potter mastered it when he was only thirteen. If he can do it, so can you."

"What's a Patronus?" Argus asked, confused.

"It's a spell that channels your happiest memories to create a protective force," Dudley explained. "It's one of the most challenging spells to master, but once you do, it's incredibly useful. You can use it to send messages or fend off Dementors."

Dudley's primary motivation wasn't to teach Argus how to fight Dementors, though. It was the messaging capability that would prove most practical for someone like him.

"Dementors?" Argus repeated, his voice wavering.

"Yes," Dudley said, "they're creatures that feed on happiness, leaving their victims in despair."

"They can even suck out your soul," Hannah added, her voice dropping to a whisper.

Dudley shook his head. "No, Dementors don't actually steal souls. They cursed your happiness, making you forget what joy feels like, but that's the extent of their power."

Dudley had studied Dementors extensively after upgrading his own spells. He discovered that Dementors weren't the terrifying soul-stealers people believed them to be. In reality, they were the result of failed dark magic experiments, a fact that most wizards were unaware of.

..........

Let's discuss something about the endgame.

Dudley X Susan

Harry X Ginny

Hannah X Neville

Hermione X ?

I think with how I construct the storyline, Hermione would have less screentime with Ron.

So what do you think about this line up.

By The way should i kill Dumbledore or let him leave but in magical comma.
