"Slow!" Cali yelled as the wall of mist fastly approached. "Damnit! We can't just keep pact for one second?!" She complained with a rolling of her eyes and a scoff "Where'd all that mist come from!"
"That must be it…The Shroud." Malle said, sweat on his brow as the train came to a stop. "The Shroud?! That's ominous…" Kirk said behind him, looking at the strange wall of Mist and Fog. "I've never seen fog like that…Its like one of the clouds in Skyderia!"
"Yeah…" Noir said, eyes shifting across the wall of mist. "So you're saying that beyond that wall, this Citadel sits?" Leroy said, walking up with a pursed brow.
"Yep…The World Governments Judiciary Island. Usually there's ships patrolling these waters. But if their not in here…That means they're waiting for us in there."
"How many Civilians are on the Island?" Leroy sat his hands onto the console in the front eyes focused on the wall. "Here? Rarely any. This is the Judicial Island. Even the lowest ranked members on this island are deep into the CPA…Marines are no less than Ensign here."
Malle had learned this from the man that built the Bridge and Train himself, Winslow (Along with Waters Poly) Only those with the highest clearance were allowed residency and occupation on the Judicial Island.
"Alright." Leroy said, standing tall and rolling his neck and shoulders. "Let's keep them waiting."
The Elevator dinged, and the bronze coated doors opened, leading into a simple hallway that was tiled, with bright candles and even lighting from small bulbs of light powered by electricity.
Opening an Ornate wooden door, The CPA Agents and Raven walked into a lavish wooden chamber with a chandelier and walls with more bulbs fulling illuminating the room beneath glass domes. A large desk at the far end with opened curtains that revealed the Exalt Building and the Octagon.
Two ornate cushioned chairs sat around the table with a sofa sat to face the Desk. A man in a microfiber coat sat on on of the chairs. His arms crossed. He had a square face and hard eyes, a high collar from his coat flaring near his shoulders.
A strong goatee and partial scruff of a full beard adorned his jaw. His hair cut to short almost buzzed length. His outfit was very different stylistically from the rest, pouches and belts on his finely woven black pants. Fingerless gloves on his muscular hands.
"Howit Colt, you're here." Hugo said, sitting at his desk. "Where are the others?" His leg began to bounce vigorously as he pulled three cigarettes and began smoking them.
"Hide, Standa and Atman are all off doing their own thing I suppose. Atman is still Meditating. And Standa is being Standa." Colt had a very similar disposition to Leery. He didn't talk much, and was very much a man of focus.
"They better get here soon." Hugo breathed a pillar of acrid smoke and closed the Curtains. He didn't want to see any of what might end up happening. At the same time he closed, a man opened the door.
He wore the standard issue bowler hat, but with tiny spectacles that barely fit his large oval face. His whole out fit was the standard issue in fact. Deep cheek bones with tanned skin, with ever so slight bits of stubble. He'd be unassuming if it wasn't for the fact that his shoulders were massive and barely fit into his suit, and stood at nearly eight feet tall, his frame large and square as he stood tall and walked over to one of the seats.
"Ah, just who we were talking about. Welcome Standa." Hugo said, leaning back in his chair. Eyes gazing to Raven, and then to a locked drawer at his Desk. He put out the embers of the cigarettes and lit 3 more.
"Sorry to be So late, Directors. But I like to get my training in at a very Particular time." His large hands easily enveloped the armrest of the chair. "Don't start standa." Kali said with a pursed lip. Standa was a man that was more by the books that even Fonias. Fonias who just took orders. Standa on the other hand did them, and by procedure. Never once had he broken the Laws that he was entrusted in.
Standa shook his head. "I bet you haven't even done your daily benchmarks, have you?"
Suddenly a Large vibration was felt! Alarms blaring as the Den Den Mushi and Rotary phone on the desk began to ring, and speak out on command. "Intruder alert! Intruder alert! The Main gate has been compromised! All available Defense Personnel to the ready!"
"There here." Leery said, watching as Hugos leg began to bounces tirelessly. Picking up the Den Den microphone, a small hand sized funnel made of wood. He did not want to rely on the possibility of the signals not making it who he wanted to in time
Den Dens were reliable in that they naturally connected and transmitted AM signals to and from one another. And through breeding, and and 'training' they communicate to specific ones when specific signals are sent to them by the Rotary number wheel it was connected to.
"1 2 0 1 1" Hugos fingers shook as he fingered the and turned the wheel. He needed to make sure all the defenses were out.
"Hang On!" Cali Screamed as the Train came Barreling through the mist and Towards the Main Gate where the Stream Liner 2 sat on the Tracks! They were at top speed! Moments later, the Train suddenly shifted course! Calliope magnetically controlling the tracks so that it was aimed straight for the building!
Glass shattered, agents that could, jumped out of the way as concrete crumbled and cracked only to explode out as the Train rammed through the first station gate! Leaving a literal trail of destruction behind it as Calliope forced it to come to a stop by making it grind into the ground!
Gunshots plinked off the metal as agents took out their issued pistols and fired at the Intrusion.
"Phew…Hahahah! That was awesome!" Leroy laughed
"I need more water…" Jeanne asked as she breathed. Dezzi handing her yet another canteen, Vitamins and electrolytes with a bit of medicine that would get her right back on her feet
"Oh god…This is crazy!" Kirk said fearfully. Calliope and Malle reading themselves.
"I'll take that as everyones alright…" Noir said with a grimace, Glancing to The Swordsman, seeing that he was rubbing his head but didn't seem at all bothered by the crash.
