The Waves crashed beneath the Horizons Palm, the Salty Sea air atomizing like a spray from a nozzle.
Two Weeks. Fourteen days to Travel to the next island.
For some, it went by in a flash. But for others, primarily the Captain. It was agonizingly slow.
He sat on the Palm figurehead, hands on his knees while his legs were crossed, eyes eagerly on the horizon, waiting for the Island to come over the Horizon.
"Leroy, we're only moving at 10 knots, it'll take a while for the Archipelago to appear!" Kirk said as he pulled the chip from the Blue, a length of rope known as a Log that was let go for 28 seconds with lengths separated at 47 feet and 3 inches. This was able to give a proper speed in nautical miles
"Yeah but it's been so boring the past few days! Jeanne's been busy with her Inventions, You've been busy with making sure we stay on course, and other stuff, Dezzi's been the only one really free…" He complained with his head hanging.
The sound of chess pieces clattering across the board sounded out, Dezzi and Raven both playing a match as they sailed
"I've been quite busy as well. I apologize. Theres been some things that I've needed to refresh my memory on some Topics. I've gotten a bit lost in the pages so to say." Raven put a hand on her chest in a show of apology
Raven and Dezzi paused the match, raven standing and walking to her captain as he continued to speak
"It's okay, people get busy, even on a ship like this. Good thing I had Noir and Kále to talk too…"
"I'm just excited!" He says exasperatedly, falling backwards with his arms splayed out
"Truly I am too. Wringly was quite a place when I last saw it." Raven said from behind the railing, eyes shifted onto her captain.
The two chatted for a bit while the ship continued to sail through the clear waters. Raven explaining how the trees of Wringly were spectacularly tall, almost like mountains in some places, some had entire buildings built into them that would house entire communities of people
The wood was expertly carved while the trees were still alive so that they could continue to grow. Raven even mentioned that Wringly had a tree the was over 500 years old. With a even the first floor of the tree staying in place at the very top of the tree, while newer floors were dug into the bottom.
Houses were also made, some even in the branches of the enormous trees like Treehouses for children, but sized up by 100%!
But before the two continue the conversation, Jeanne caught the crews attention.
"Look there! Somethings coming over the Horizon!
In the blink of an eye, the captain shot up with a smile on his face as just over the horizon land mass came into view! A Huge and some distant spots that denoted it as an archipelago dotted the distance!
"Looks like I'll have to correct course a bit…Gotta head a bit Northwest." As Kirk spoke he walked up the stairs and into the galley to the whipstaff
Leroy rushed off the Ship and began sprinting around an open field! Grass buzzed down to shorter that an inch.
"Oh Man! Dry land! I wonder where all the trees are!" The Captain said looking around in excitement as he brought a hand to his brow, scouring the field.
The Immediate surrounding area seemed barren. Like a coast would, the grass a crisp crunchy yellow with patches of brown from the soil beneath.
"Raven?" Kirk began looking up to the tall woman. "Are you sure that this is wringly. I think we may Have landed on a separate island."
As the Navigator spoke, Raven tilted her head to the side, a confused look on her face. Could this really be a separate island?
It wasn't totally unheard of, in the grand line there were dozens of islands not Magnetically charged to attract the draw of a log pose, or only strong enough to attract it for just a few hours before the Log Pose relocked onto the original Island.
In ravens minds eye, she looked around, and imagined how the surroundings would look if were filled with trees.
"It might not be…Hmm, whats the Log Pose say, Kirk?"
The Needle within the glass dome flickered and wobbled, generally pointing down and inland. Denoting that they were in fact on whatever the Pose was looked too.
"I heard about one of the many random acts of the Grand line was Rouge islands, Detached Islands, and Weak Islands. And we may have got the attraction of a Detached Island, They're Magnetic Fields fluctuate in strength like random signals. And that might be where we are."
"We'll just have to wait a few hours to see if the Pose suddenly locks onto another before what ever the Reset time of Wringly is."
"Which should be only 8 hours."
"So we give it seven!"
Kirk smiled with fist on his hips.
Raven Kneeled down, and pawed at the ground, it was coarse, and rough, breaking into particulates with ease with barely any force between her fingers.
"If there's anything that tells me this isn't, it's the soil, It's not moist or ample to support Trees."
"Guess we'll just have to wait."
