"Hehehe." A pleasant giggle reached my ears, and I glanced down to find Selena hugging my arm, smiling like she hadn't just tried to kill me.
Damn.
Why did this world have to gift a lunatic such a face?
Just looking at her made me feel conflicted. She didn't seem like someone who could hurt a fly, yet she'd almost ended me minutes ago in that elevator.
[Did she really believe your answer?]
Of course not. She may not look it, but she's smart. She probably saw through my lie the moment it left my mouth. But that only makes this situation more complicated. I don't know what's going on in that head of hers, and what happened back in that elevator has put this fear in me. I can't even push her away for fear of what she'd do next.
I hate her unpredictability.
There's no telling what she could do at any point in time. Plus, even in the game, she was straight-up OP from the very start. I think it has something to do with her bloodline or blessing—probably a catalyst for her insanity.
Suddenly, she turned to block the path ahead, her hand still clasping mine. "I'll give you two options, and you have to choose one of them before ten seconds." That mischievous smirk was back.
"What?" I asked, feeling apprehensive.
"What would you prefer to eat right now, food or me?" she asked softly, leaning in closer with a teasing smile.
"I just want to head to my dorm," I said flatly.
Suddenly, she puffed her cheeks in a pout, then her arm moved so fast I couldn't follow.
Thud.
A dull sound echoed.
Huh?
Oh.
She was just messing with me. She did punch me, but without any strength at all—I could barely feel her hand on my chest.
"Do you mean I can't turn you on?" She then grabbed the collar of my tracksuit and pulled me close to her level as our lips met.
CHU!
She gave a quick peck on my lips and grabbed my arm once more, heading in the opposite direction.
I didn't even try to fight back.
The lesson in the elevator taught me everything I needed to know.
This is so strange... I mean, I read some shitty books back then about idiots in a woman's world, but I didn't think it was this strange. I feel so powerless... damn.
"Where are you taking me? The dorms are the other way." I tried to pull away, but it was impossible.
"Save your breath, tough guy. I already know why you're headed back to the dorms, you're dead broke." She stopped for a moment to look into my eyes. "I also heard what happened to you. The points that were stolen from you. So I'll help you get them back."
She flashed a smile that made me frown.
Fuck.
She's acting awfully like...
[Your lover?]
Yes, it's similar. This whole thing. Just like that, one strange girl becomes the bane of my existence, refusing to let me be, no matter what I do.
"Wait... how did you get them to give it to you?" I asked, though I had a rough guess.
"I asked politely." She smirked and pulled me toward a more crowded area.
'She's problem beat them close to death,'
"Then are you going to give me the points?" I asked, a bit hopeful.
"No," she said.
Well, great. It's essentially the same thing.
"I'll instead hold onto them for you, so events like that don't happen again. But don't worry about food—I've got you covered." She smiled.
Oh.
I see.
Crap.
She's using this as a means of making me dependent on her.
