" What's the decoration for? " Alex asked
Hannah clapped her hands together and beamed with a smile,
" It's a welcome party and a wedding gift." Hannah turned her gaze to Avery and said.
" Welcome to the family, girl. "
Avery nodded and gave her a light smile.

The door clicked on the wall softly. Her thumb was in her mouth as she bit on it.
Her pace increased when her mind drifted to everything that had happened in the past minutes. She has to think, really think. She can't be in a loveless marriage. She stopped in her tracks.
" But, he called me his wife". She muttered to herself.
She bit the inside of her lip. Is this his way of getting to me?
She made her way to the bed and sat down.
" What if this was another lie?"
The door to their room opened and she raised her head abruptly to look at the man who had gotten into her head. Her eyes were red, from all the pacing around in the room.
Alex furrowed his brows. He rushed towards her and knelt in front of her.
" Hey. Are you OK?" he asked.
Avery tried to look away but he held her chin for her to look at him.
" Look at me, Avery. Did something happen?"
She scoffed and said;
" Are you asking me that now? I told you I didn't want to be here and look. I'm here. Let me go, Alexander. Please."
His hands fell beside him. He combed his hair with his fingers.
" I'm sorry, Avery. But I can't do that. Please understand me. Give this marriage a chance, and I promise you, I won't fail you." He said in a hoarse voice
Avery met his glassy eyes. Was he going to tear up? Was she ready to give this marriage a chance?
" Fuck overthinking," Avery said as she stared at him.
With a deep breath she said;
" I'm going to trust you in this Alex. Please do not let me regret this."
Alex's eyes shone. He held her hands gently.
" Does that mean you're giving it a chance?"
She nodded. Alex wrapped his hands around her waist and lifted her before he spun her around.
" Thank you. Thank you. So much. I promise I'm not going to disappoint you, baby. I promise."
Avery's feet touched the floor softly.
" You better not disappoint me, Alex."
He caressed her face and leaned closer.
" Can I?"
" Yes."
With her permission, he kissed her with every strength he had
