Ikemefuna watched morbidly as Drey stood up.
The ropes binding him slowly loosened, and like snakes they crawled away, moving towards the old lady.
Drey smiled, dusting his body as he stood.
"Well my friend, it seems that this is what it has come to."
He paused.
"I guess in a way it would have always come to this, I was just really upset when you fell from the cliff─ almost thwarting my plans."
Ikemefuna nodded, his eyes lighting up.
"So that's why.
But a question, why do you think it would have always come to this?"
Drey met Ikemefuna's gaze.
"Huh. I suppose that was one of the outcomes possible. And because it was the only outcome I desired as well.
There was silence.
Ikemefuna felt his jaw tighten.
"That's quite the prideful statement."
Ikemefuna let his eyes roam searching Drey's face for any change.
Not long ago Kanima had warned him against speaking to the creepy dwarf.
Now he was going contrary to that very warning.
Ikem sighed.
