T.O was moving for his blaster at the same time the Earl was moving for his rifle. He to draw fast but his the pulse round hit him in the chest. He was knocked off his feet falling to the ground to the sound of the enemies chuckles and his comrades being shot to hell around him.
Everything froze then he woke to hell and pain as he lay tied down to a medical bed while doctors worked on his body. T. O. couldn't think remember or what he was.
- Captain Wales! Captain Wales! Please report to the bridge. -
T. O. woke up from his nightmare to the scent of a woman half on top of him. It was dark but he could see make out Tammy's naked form next to him. He smiled and eased himself out of bed slowly in order not to wake her up.
Tammy was silent not moving or saying a sound. T. O. noticed her breathing had changed. He looked back at her.
Tammy's face was flush and body moist from still from a few hours ago. He smiled at her. "I know your awake. You want me to grab you my shirt. I got to head to the bridge." He asked.
Tammy opened her eye lids to look at on the massive ugly scars that mapped the front ofnhis chest. "You had a bad dream." She said quietly.
T. O. sighed walking over to his desk where his pants were. He turned his back to her as he slipped them on. "Yeah. I must have talked in my sleep sorry about that. You'll have to get used to it. I'm off the bottle for now or at least until I buy back my kin." He said.
"Pass me, my overall sugar." Tammy said in a husky sweet voice.
He hissed between his teeth but he reached for her clothes throwing them backward to her. He rolled his shoulders then trying to count to ten or get his mind right back to business again.
"What's a matter? You sorry about taking a bit a fun with me between the sheets. I'm not." Tammy said.
T. O. Chuckled. "Not at all. Just got to get to work. Every job will count to my credit rating with the company and I got to keep my head clear when we got to get on the company's time." He said and then he turned and headed to the open door way.
He headed out walking in the direction of the bridge. He glanced back once to see Tammy followed. She was dressed in only overalls. Her face still flushed and eye lids lowered slightly. Her hips stuck out the side of overalls.
Tammy smiled shaking her head. "It's time to work Captain. You can get a treat after work." She said.
T. O. sighed and he turned walking to the front. He quickly down the hallway and up the stairway to the bridge. He walked inside the bridge and got a full view of cruiser with it's gun ship weapons flickering to indicate it was ready and prepared to blast the ship to hell.
Eddy was seated pointing to a screen in the middle of the control deck that was glowing. "You have a incoming video message Captain Wales. It's a security sector Captain Grey Mayors." Eddy said.
T.O. looked backward looking at Tammy's current state of dress. "We got a local sheriff is calling." He said.
Tammy nodded folding her arms across her chest. "Answer it then." She said.
T. O. nodded and faced the camera on the control station. "Eddy. Put him through." He said.
The camera flickered on on the screen on the control station showed the image of a white uniformed man with cherry pink hair and hard line frown on his face. T.O. saluted him. "Greetings. I am Captain T. O. Wales here in the sector for brief commercial business." He said.
"Hmm. Captain because you bought a ship or Captain because you served in the federation forces?" Captain Mayors asked.
T.O. shrugged. "Both. You know the war against the federation and outter worlds is over right? Every soldier did what they did for their people." He said.
Captain Mayors stiff manner softened slightly. "I share the same opinion. What is your commercial business here?" He asked.
T. O. smiled. Negotiations and property rights. I can't go into more detail. It's in my contract." He said.
"You have forty-eight sleeping cycles to get your job done here and move on to the next sector on your mission log." Captain Mayors said stiffly.
T. O. frowned. "Is this advice or orders?" He said.
"Both." Captain Mayors said.
T. O. nodded his head. "Understood thank you Captain." He said and saluted him.
Captain Mayors saluted back and his image disappeared.
"What the hell was that about?" Tammy asked.
"The sector is about to collapse from politics or some elemental factors. We'll head to the station for our target gas up and try to get the hell out of here fast." T.O. said and he looked at Tammy.
Tammy was studying him closely. "I didn't know you earned a captain tags in the military." She said.
T.O. shrugged. "It was one of my last rank upgrades before I was freed from my duty. I didn't earn it I just up next. I was the last in the line of dead bodies that survived and moved up ranks several times over the men that were ahead of me." He said.
Tammy grimanced. "You were still equipped for the job though weren't you?" She said.
"What makes you say that?" T. O. asked.
"You knew how to operate the ship and you didn't lie to the man. You understood his thinking and you were prepared to handle it. I'm guessing you got training on it." She said.
T. O. grinned and straightened up and he nodded to her. "Yeah. I liked to asked questions to my top commanders and take courses on my tablet. I planned on going career but my injuries and politics got in my way. We're going to get to the job right quickly. You ready?" He said.
Tammy grinned. "Sure am Captain. It's show time." She said.
