The crystal remained silent for several seconds.
When Kaiser finally spoke, his voice had lost much of its earlier humor.
"That is concerning."
"That's what I thought."
"If your description is accurate, I would strongly advise against confronting that creature without further investigation."
"Already planning on investigating. That's why I'm calling."
"Then allow me to examine what remains of the curse. I retained a record of its structure during the removal. If the creature used an identifiable form of draconic magic, there may be enough information to determine its origin."
"Can you find its lair?"
"Not immediately. But if the dragon followed the residual magic on my person all the way to Bastos, there may be a means of reversing that connection. I would also need to know which direction it departed."
"We can manage that," Celine replied. "Several guards watched it leave, and we have records of the surrounding mountain ranges."
