Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Blumund

After Fuze yelled at the three amigos for a while he asked Rimuru and I to go with him to his office. Rimuru doesn't seem to know what's going to happen but I do. This is our chance to set up relations with Blumund.

When we reach the office we sit down and just look at each other for a bit. Feeling the tense air Fuze gets to the point, he asks the three unfortunate adventurers, "Didn't I tell you that if these two ever appear to send them to me immediately?"

They quietly respond while looking down in shame, "Yes sir."

Turning to us in a much more nice tone he continues, "Listen, I know you don't mean any harm but the same can't be said for other people. If they knew you two commanded thousands of monsters…"

Smiling, I cut him off cockily, responding, "Yeah, we know, or at least I know."

"Eeehh!"

I laugh a little, "Come on, we both know you didn't grasp the full consequences of us leaving Tempest. You probably did know the basics but there is no way you fully grasped the we will have."

Rimuru looks at me with a face that knows full well I am right. After calming down a little he turns to Fuze. He sighs before saying, "You're right. We have yet to formally set up relations with many human nations so they might not react too well." He turns to Fuze, "That might cause you problems so we are sorry for that. We'll be more careful next time."

I smile and chuckle "You mean you'll be more careful. I had a plan before coming to cause as little damage to the outside world as possible, unlike you."

He looks a little annoyed and does an anime pout. This makes me laugh a little.

I turn back to Fuze and continue, "Anyways, I believe you brought us here for more than just that warning correct?"

He looks a little shocked but then says, "Yes, the king of Blumund already knows you're here and wants to meet you two in secret."

Rimuru looks a little shocked by the sudden news while I remain perfectly calm. This is exactly what I expected. "I see, tell him we'll be there."

"Understood, his majesty will meet with you two in three days."

On our way out I get a notification.

{Notice- Unique Skill [Sage's Link] has been activated.}

"Hey, Migeru, why did you do that?"

"Gotta assert my dominance as the more responsible sibling!" I laugh a little, "Honestly, it's funny messing with you." He goes silent for a bit. "Well, moving past that, I know you have some thoughts on the whole, waiting three days thing."

He nods physically before responding saying, "I'm in a bit of a hurry to complete Shizu's will. Staying here for three days is a little annoying."

"I see, Shizu really means a lot to you, I understand that but this is more valuable in the long run. Meeting the king of Blumund will open many different opportunities for Tempest in the future. We can't exactly pass off this chance."

He stops to think before saying, "I understand, you're right."

{Notice- Unique Skill [Sage's Link] has been deactivated.}

Later I remember I still don't have an adventurer's card because I didn't get the chance to take the test. Due to this I ask Fuze to allow me to take them this time under his supervision. Due to being the second to see it and already having [Magic Haki] I am easily able to get an adventurers card within an hour.

After this however, it was time to wait. We toured the city for a bit to get a good feel for an actual human nation, even if it's a rather small one. The stuff here is surprisingly advanced even if Tempest is catching up really fast.

The three days pass by and eventually it is finally time. We are called to the meeting to look at the treaty with a baron the king sent in his place. It's a pretty one sided treaty when I look at it.

It contains a mutual passage agreement and a mutual defense agreement. The mutual passage agreement is fair and balanced. The problems arise when you analyze the mutual defense agreement. While it may be a mutual agreement it only really helps Blumund. Even the weaker members of the young Tempest army like the Goblin Riders are able to wipe the floor with dozens of Blumund soldiers. That means in the end their help in a war battlefield is pretty insignificant where our help with their possible wars is massive and game changing. The deal is totally one-sided.

However, while it is one-sided, the unfair part of it doesn't really affect us. Due to this we sign it after a little discussion. For now, earning the trust of a human country is much more valuable than possible rewards from a more fair deal. On top of that it does have a big benefit coming as a consequence of it.

Back to the mutual passage agreement, this helps Rimuru reach his goal way easier. What this agreement does is it essentially forces humans and monsters to live together. This will help build bonds between the two easier and more steady.

On top of that Rimuru milks one more thing from this. He adds a tariff that merchants will have to pay upon entry. While the baron who got sent to discuss this with us in place of the king ends up not being exactly happy about this proposed tariff he eventually gives in after an hour of arguing.

After the main discussion over the treaty we are finally allowed to meet the king directly. During this meeting I use [Genius] to analyze him and find him to, while greedy, he's overall a decent person. Looking further I also find an intense fear of us attacking and destroying Blumund. Can't blame him for that.

He does show some of his greed in this meeting with him as he mentions that if the Eastern Empire we're to attack then we would help them. While this mention confused Rimuru at first he eventually realizes the implications of a mutual defense treaty not only applying to monster attacks which for some reason is the only thing he thought about. He collapses on the ground as the thought of war passes through his mind.

Don't worry Rimuru, it's not like war can hurt Tempest very much permanently. Especially with me around.

After this we get ready to leave but then I remember something else I need to do. I open up talks about trade between the two countries before Rimuru and I leave to get it out of the way. To help with the negotiations I ask for the keyless guy from Rimuru's test.

I use his missing leg as an example for my demonstration of Tempest's Full Potion. At first, when we say they are Full Potions capable of healing one-hundred percent of all injuries they don't fully believe us but after I pour it on the guys leg causing him to regrow it instantly they're looks of shock are priceless.

Full Potions won't really be sold in large quantities due to simply being way too effective but they are a good way to show our scientific power. This one showing interested everyone in the room and caused talks of trade to start very early. This of course involved the trade of diluted potions and even Full Potions in incredibly limited amounts to people like the king. After that we finally leave from what was originally a pit-stop at Blumund.

We leave with the three amigos via carriage to our next destination of Ingracia. Our trip ends up being quiet and uneventful of course thanks to Rimuru and my constant passive aura keeping monsters away. After a few days we arrive.

We walk out of the carriage a little outside of the actual entrance to Ingracia. During our entry Rimuru and I are mistaken for little girls yet again, which hurts my pride just that little bit.

As we enter the city Rimuru looks around like a little kid visiting an amusement park for the very first time. It's a lot bigger than what you would expect, even for a fantasy city. Me being me I measure the city based on how many Magicule Bombs it would take to destroy this city. It would take 6 currently. That's crazy considering one thing.

Magicule bombs are powered by the Magicules of the user if they are used to their maximum potential. That means they scale to their creator. I have been growing in power more and more since the creation of the one I used during the Orc War meaning a current Magicule Bomb which goes up in power exponentially would dwarf one I made back then. Even with all that it would still take 6 Magicule Bombs to destroy all inhabitants in Ingracia.

Anyways, as Rimuru looks around like a small child I look at the three amigos smiling as they look at Rimuru. It is pretty fun looking at him in his excitement isn't it?

Later that day the three amigos book hotel rooms for us to stay the night. Rimuru and I don't need to sleep so we decide to just get the same hotel room with one bed seeing as we won't even need to use it. Later that night, Rimuru asks why I decided to come, seeing as I don't have a clear reason to come like him.

I explain, "I was just looking for a change of pace you know. I've been working in my lab for months on end. That gets repetitive after a while even for someone who enjoys it like me.

I'm actually planning on doing a little adventuring if I have the chance. See what I can find. What skills I can copy." Getting more serious I ask, "So, the kids, you're planning to become their teacher or guiding figure right?"

Rimuru nods saying, "Yes, I feel like Shizu entrusted them to me."

"I guess I can understand. In that case I'll go see them too, maybe help out a bit. They must be something special for Shizu to be interested in them."

Rimuru is caught off guard by what I just said and asks, "Really?"

I shrug as I say, "Yeah, why not." I pull out a half built Magic-powered oven I had in my [Stomach] and start tinkering with it. "It might be interesting."

As the night passes with Rimuru preparing for his meeting with Yuuki and the kids while I finish my prototype Magic-Oven the day I finally am to meet Yuuki arrives. After eating breakfast with the three amigos which after eating almost nothing but Shuna's food for over a year ends up being a little disappointing we finally head out to the Guild Headquarters. Right there we are met with Kagali, or should I say, Kazaream.

As she introduces herself I finally get ready for my first meeting with That Lord. And it will not be a very passive meeting.. I have plans for you, Yuuki Kagurazaka.
