Chapter 187 - Age Of Holy War (3)

It was suddenly quiet, extremely quiet. One would usually be able to hear a pin drop, but as there was still rubble cracking and falling, it was something else… It wasn't actually silent, their sense of sound had been interfered with.

"Oh me, oh my. Look at all the destruction you've caused. So very naughty, and naughty ones deserve punishment." The voice was the only thing that came through loud and clear. "Oh? I can see you're also kidnapping my people? What are you going to do with them? Sell them? Eat them perhaps?"

Everyone looked up to see that the person there was an unfamiliar figure, geared out in what looked to be the best equipment one could buy outside of Tus Nadair. Moreover, it was clear they were human.

"I don't really care what you planned on doing with them. I can't simply allow my people to be taken in by demon worshipers. It's not exactly a good idea. Who knows what kind of lies their little heads will be filled with."

The figure floating in the air struck a cutesy looking pose, she was clearly insane. All the lies she'd had her head filled with broke her mind. And now the only thing she cared about was making people die in the cutest of ways.

"AH, I wonder what color a demon worshiper's blood is? Surely it's a gross and disgusting thing." She then twitched as if coming to a quick realization, or a wire short circuited in her brain due to all the inconsistencies. "Oh, but that would be pretty cute too, in its own way. So let me see how pretty you all can be! Oh, but first, my name is Cutie Patootie. Not really, but that's what everyone calls me. I'm a God-kin of my loveable gods. Oh! How blessed it is to have divine blood running through this beautiful body I've been blessed with…" Her face twisted. "NOW LET'S SEE SOME PRETTY SIGHTS!"

"Not if I have anything to say about it!" The Paladin immediately took action drawing his blade, expending every bit of strength to block the incoming attack.

"Awe, that's no fun… YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO GO POP!" The god kin complained stomping her feet, pouting like a child having a temper tantrum. She started crying. "You were supposed to go pop like a good demon worshiper." She cleared up her mood. "Oh no, this means I get to have more fun playing until you break! Wee! Yay!"

While she was doing her crazed stuff, the other Robel Holy Kingdom warriors retreated, while the paladins gathered, gulping at the insane strategy they were about to try. Surely, surely this will be enough. Right?

"Hurry up, the captain won't last another hit. 3, 2, 1… UNDER DIVINE FLAG!" 5 paladins used their buff, each barely reaching the required overlapping range.

A 6th paladin did something different. "Oh holy mother, of all life-" She pulled her hands down in prayer. "I ask that you bless this unworthy child with a divine miracle-" She looked up to the sky. "Grant me the blessing to heal my countrymen." An aura began to surround the paladin. "Divine Embrace!"

While receiving the healing spell, along with his buffs, the paladin drank a few different portions… His body swelled slightly. And he fully unsheathed both of his heavier long swords.

"Oh! So cool! So cool! You look all big and scary now. Too bad it's not enough." She fired forward with immense speed, drawing ever closer to her target, the edge of her blade about to hit a vital spot. Yes! Yes! Show me your blood!

A super loud clang rang out breaking the silence. The Paladin, with everything he had, blocked the attack, standing his ground the best he could… There were obvious lines in the ground leading back up to where he'd been standing previously.

"HUH!" The god-kin grew even more furious. "Come on! You're really bad at this, you know. You're supposed to be dead by now, don't you understand!"

"Oh? Am I really the one who's bad at it? I've survived your strikes twice now." The paladin smirked. "Maybe your gods really aren't all that tough after all."

"YOU BLASPHEMER!"

The God-kin's attacks grew stronger, and far more rapid.

"Heh, is this all?" Fuck, this bitch is strong. Just what is it about her that's really all that different? I'm all out of miracles for the day. So is everyone else. But we can't fall here… There has to be a way…

"What are you thinking about? Getting distracted? Oh, it must be about me right? How cute and pretty I am? Too bad for you, I don't go out with blaspheming demon worshipers."

"I was just thinking of how ugly you are. If you were the woman alive in the world, I'd go find a goblin, or even a troll. Both are better than this mess I see before me now."

That… Was the last straw that broke the god-kin's last threads of sanity. And she unleashed an assault, causing numerous injuries upon the paladin's body, making him bleed and even cough up blood. And then, there was a real opening.

Swinging up with his left arm, he cut off the flowing chain attacks, and then as she was about to recover, coming in from the right, the paladin's right blade pierced the god-kin's left shoulder, straight through, Unfortunately missing the vitals but, it wasn't over… He smirked.

"Holy Strike!"

A surge of divine energy pierced throughout the god-kin's body, causing immense damage to her body, and even the loss of her arm. However, even injured as she was, she repaid the favor with a powerful stab to the gut, piercing through the Paladin's armor, sending a small shock wave through his body. Twisting it, and pulling the dagger out again, the paladin fell to the ground, bleeding out, having exhausted all of his options.

"So this is how far I've come since I was a child… Watching the flames dance as my father was put to rest… Did I do good, goddess? Mother? Yeah, I like that more, mother…" His life was fading fast, but no one could help.

The god-kin started laughing manically, spreading her arm out in a grand display of celebration. "I killed him. I broke the fun toy!"

A nearby paladin found the strength to grip his blade, but couldn't lift it. He along with everyone else had completely exhausted their strength.

"Don't worry, your friend will survive." A soothing, yet masculine voice mentioned as a warm and friendly hand was placed on the paladin's shoulder. "Great Mother's Divine Grace" All the paladin's wounds began healing, including the severely injured one.

The one who'd stood and fought, even with nothing in the tank, his vision was filled with the face of a calm, and gentle smile, seemingly comforting him. "Mother-" Then he passed out.

"Pfft, silly boy. I'm not mother, but I think it's safe to say she would be very proud of you. Rest well young man."

"Oh wonderful, a bunch of demons showed up. Of course they would come to save their followers."

"You have quite the mouth on you don't you little girl. You're about to get a first class experience on who I really am. And I know you know me. Everyone should." Another elf smiled, hiding the fury behind it.
