Chapter 168 - Battles Begin

"And what if I say it, huh, WHORE!!!" The other slightly smaller dragon roared.

"Nothing more than the provocations of a dead dragon. You'd never understand the truth behind my actions anyway."

"Really, and why not?"

"Because you're nothing but emptiness. Sure you're strong, but not for long."

"You bitch. I'll kill you!"

"Power without Ideals, is just empty. Ideals without power are just pipedreams." Night Silver said, and a powerful green aura enveloped her. "I have both Ideals, and the power to make them real. You're just an annoying obstacle."

The reborn Dragon Emperor couldn't take the insults anymore, and fired off a full powered beath attack. The fight between him and Night Silver kicked off. Breath attacks, and spells fired off all over the place, the once quaint and peaceful land quickly started turning into a hellish landscape.

Damn it, this bastard's tough even after reincarnating. How long ago was he born? I can repair the damage done to the environment later. I have to kill this evil dragon.

This bitch is a lot tougher than she was last time. She's not even using her tricks. I may not have my full power back yet, but even so, she shouldn't be able to equal me. No way! And why does it feel like she's growing stronger? Odd.

The two continued fighting as they flew away, through the lands. The Emperor Dragon thought it odd, but ignored it and gave chase. Little did he know that, Night Silver did this precisely to save the people from becoming a dragon's dinner.

"So Mother, are you really acting on your conscience right now?" Brightness asked, with a heavy sigh, seemingly having realized something else about his father.

"Of course I am. With my mate back, together we can crush that damned bitch who sullied our bloodline with those horrible creatures."

"Do you mean my children?" Brightness asked, getting rather annoyed. Perhaps, I shouldn't hold back here. Mother must learn not to belittle my children. It is my job to protect them, even from her.

"Ha! You call those things your children. LAUGHABLE! You're an embarrassment to all of Dragonkind!" The Great Dragon Mother was fumingly mad. "Do you know how humiliating it was to live under her thumb-"

"SHUT UP!" Brightness bellowed, a deep glare, filled with killing intent. "Under whose thumb?! You've been treated as an equal this entire time, it's your own fault for feeling this way. And regardless of what you say, I love that woman, and all the family she helped build with me!"

"Really now? Even though she's been whoring herself out to all the men in Tus Nadair. You're insane!"

"If you say it like that; one, you don't understand what really happened, and two, I've been playing around with more than a few other women as well. But you don't call me a whore."

"Son, that's because you're a dragon. You have the reborn right to take anything you want!"

Brightness sighed. "If you truly believe that, mother… You've gone far past the point of no return." He took a deep breath. "I sincerely hope that once father is killed again, you return to your senses." He rose his spirit to fighting capacity, well beyond what would be considered normal, and then even further beyond abnormal.

"You're stronger than your father?"

"I might be a slight bit inferior to his full strength 400 years ago when he was still at his peak… But I'm close enough that it's more than enough to deal with you properly." Brightness stated. "I will teach you not to belittle my children. The children my wives granted to me even after everything that happened then."

A battle between world destroying beings started. Though, this second fight remained confined to a small area. Neither of them wanted to even remotely wind up in the middle of the other fight, even by accident.

On the west side of the continent, the Fort City Iar, a massive dragon appeared in the sky, having come from the east, it was Telam. "Wow, that looks like the better part of a whole nation's population. You were right to call for help." His powerful voice echoed through the city. "My forces will arrive shortly. I'm going to look at what's ahead of us." He flew up, high, way higher than before.

From the ground the commander looked up, unable to properly see Telam. "Did he vanish, or is he just that high up there?"

Telam came down after a little bit and made a graceful landing. "I'll wait to do anything else until my army arrives. I almost wonder if it's worth swapping out with one of my siblings… Fire will work far better against this enemy than my abilities."

"I am but a humble commander on the outskirts of my nation. I don't dare to determine the value of your thoughts." The man paused. "However, if I may say… Losing you now would put everyone's hearts into a panic."

"Hmm, I see." Telam glanced at the human with an incomprehensible expression to the humans. "Well, it's the first time I haven't been able to ask Mother for any advice. It's different, so, if you think I should stay here. I'll do just that."

"Forgive me if I over stepped too much Lord Telam."

"No, it's fine. I should be enough to deal with that enemy. And in the worst case scenario, we'll just hold the enemy here. Getting by me isn't going to be an easy feat. There's only a handful of my siblings stronger than I am." He said. "Though, if even one more of them were able to join me here, this enemy wouldn't stand a chance."

"You're that strong?"

"Mother wanted us to be strong enough to handle everything even if she wasn't around anymore. We aren't quite there yet. But that training is nothing to scoff at- now then be sure to provide the refugees with whatever they need. Once my army mages arrive, they'll determine what should happen to them. Odds are though, they'll be transported to Tus Nadair, and cared for there. Likely becoming citizens over time."

"Understood, Lord Telam." The commander bowed, and left to ensure everything was running smoothly.
