Chapter 169 - Mistakes

While Telam was handling the Fort City Iar, his siblings of comparable strength all took up their own positions to defend other cities across the whole of the continent. Everywhere anyone went, it was as if the refugees had just lived through Armageddon. I didn't matter which city, or what side of the content, the look of horror was the same.

And of course while this hell was playing out in real time, while people died, Night Silver fought head to head against the Reborn Emperor Dragon. Their brutal, bloody battle was far from over, and wherever their fight took them, the thoughts of blaming the goddess subsided… They were replaced with prayers of victory, a victory over the newly dubbed Dragon Demon God.

…

Argland Council State was one of the only two nations to refuse to call upon Tus Nadair's aid in this war. And one of their port cities fell as if it had been made of paper. The party responsible for this loss soon made himself known.

"Ahaha! This Yggdrasil version 2 is fantastic! It feels so real! I love it!" A booming laugh, full of cheerful bliss sounded out through the port city. "Hear me! I am the master of Alligators & Crocodiles!!! You puny humans shall feed my children well." He laughed, crossing his tiny alligator arms.

Tsa had been watching the scene play out, just as heartless as ever when… "What is with that weird body of this so-called player? I should be able to stand up to him. But, where did he come from? Did mother-"

"Lord Councilor!!! Urgent Report! The Goddess Night Silver has engaged in life or death combat with a powerful Dragon Lord."

"What?!" Tsa reacted in shock. How did I miss that? I must be… Losing my edge. "I'm going, this demon that's attacking our country must be stopped. And I'm the only one strong enough to do it. We should mobilize our forces to accept the fleeing refugees, any that managed to escape will be treated with care." Tsa got up and flew off to battle.

The other councilors heaved a collective sigh.

"I still think it would have been better to ask Tus Nadair for aid in this endeavor."

"Idiot, we could never do that. The best we can muster is secretly receiving food stuff. Anything more would just be too much for us to handle hiding from Tsa."

"Councilor Tsa probably already knows about those aid supplies as it is." Another said, holding his head, rubbing his temples.

"Really, how sure are we that this nation will even work? With so many powerful creatures out there… Tsa isn't even in the top 10 strongest."

"If we exclude; Tsa's mother, Brightness Dragon Lord, and Goddess Night Silver… The remaining 10 in the top of the strength rankings would all be the spawns of Night Silver, Undine, and Brightness Dragon Lord."

"And what? He's 11th?" Someone scoffed, jokingly.

"He's probably closer to 100th place, than he is to 10th place."

…

The Slane Theocracy, one of the few large and powerful nations on the continent. Their legacy, having been rather pathetic after their fight with Night Silver hundreds of years ago, and having fallen further after the death of their final god at the hands of the Eight Greed Kings, was also one nation that refused to call for aid. Their people suffered dearly for this mistake.

Due to the sheer size of the Slane Theocracy, the number of enemies they had to deal with was far higher than they expected. Where most countries only had to deal with one Demon attacker, they had…

"WHAT! You said there were four demon gods! Shit."

"What are we going to do here? Can the God-kin survive such a horrid battle?"

"We can only hope they have the means to pull this off. Just to be safe though, we should send all of them in, at once, against a single one of the enemies. Just, who do we choose to save?"

"There's one attacking the Cove and surrounding lands, just beyond the Abelion mountains. Should we start there?"

"No, the mountains will protect us from that for now. And it would give the other three more than enough time to attack us directly. We should consider the lands beyond the hills, lost territory, and abandon it."

"Harsh… So, then, with the remaining three, I suggest we avoid attacking the ones out east, and the one near our border with the elves. Let's attack the one in the middle." A man pointed to several areas on the map as he spoke.

"That's not a bad idea. With a spear head force that can break through and directly kill that one. It would at the very least prove we have the means to threaten the enemy. Thus, potentially slowing down their movements."

"Then we will go with this as the proposal. All in favor raise your vote." The head of this session looked around. "With unanimous vote, we will abandon all lands beyond the Abelion Hills, and send our God-kin unit to slay the Demon God in the South East. From there, we will convene again to decide our next movement."

And so it was. The unit of powerful God-kins, along with the most powerful of humans, the Black-Scripture, all united and launched their assault on the Demon God. The results were relayed back via message, and then via carrier.

The leaders of the Slane Theocracy, hearing the report slumped into their chairs, each having a moment dissociating from reality.

"To think of the 100 God-kin we had, only 1 managed to survive the battle, and was in critical condition until just a few moments ago where he had stabilized."

"We also lost almost all of the Black-Scripture along with them. Apparently, most of the God-kin fell in battle trying to protect the weaker members."

"That settles it. Sending the Black Scripture along with them was a horrible choice."

"Oh Gods, please forgive us, your foolish servants, for what we have done…"

"At least there's still hope, growing the women's bellies, the children of the god-kin. We'll have to bear this hell afterall."

"Perhaps the aid sent to the elves will also take care of another of the Demon Gods for us."

"We can only pray for a miracle at this point."

Meanwhile a rather annoyed servant just left the room. You idiots should just call Tus Nadair already! They have plenty of forces to handle this crisis. Let them deal with it.
