After about half an hour of interrogation he was let go.
Avon exit the room through another door.
It was another waiting room. Everyone who had gone before him were seated and waiting their turn.
Each person had 15 minutes with the knight. Though most of the people who entered left before their time was up, the other weren't let in until it was time for their slot.
Avon still had almost another two hours to pass.
He observed his surroundings and architecture of the room he was in.
He observed the people of different species present in their with him.
After what was eternity, it was finally his turn.
He entered the room and saw a woman with crimson hair and golden eyes inside, she was seated and wore an elegant dress of red and white color.
He entered and bowed before her,
"Sir down"
She said.
He took a seat.
Now that he was in her presence, his heart was pounding hard and he could the sweat on his forehead. The room was quite cool, yet he sweating now.
She had a cold stern gaze that could make anyone nervous.
"You have stated that you came to obtain an item from me....tell me, what is it that I have that you can convince me to give you."
She spoke in a flat tone as as she leaned forward onto the table between them. He felt her gaze dig deeper into him.
He calmly took out the medallion and as he was about to place it on the table, he remembered,
"Is purple the most evil of all colors?"
He asked. Her eyes widened he almost see anger flare up for a second behind the cold gaze,
She narrowed her eyes and spoke slowly,
"You...how do you know this...who sent you. Obviously you are not a heretic yourself otherwise you wouldn't have passed the security checks."
"I...am not a heretic as you stated...but I needed to confirm whether you were one or not..."
"You dare cast suspicion on a Knight?"
Her voice was a little louder.
Avon replied calmly,
"My suspicions have proven correct in my past experiences."
Avon could see a momentary uncertainty and shock in her eyes. Before she could say anything else, he took out the medallion and placed on the table before her.
"I think...you know what item I need...and I hope you will give it to me.."
He spoke slowly.
When she looked at it, her eyes widened. For the first time her emotion showed clearly.
She looked at Avon and back at the medallion.
Then she took her storage ring and pulled out the last piece.
She didn't give it to him but completed the medallion for him.
She looked at it carefully and slowly put her hand before him holding the medallion.
"He very careful with it. Now leave quickly and complete your task."
He took the medallion form his hand and with an excited smile on his face, he answered
"Yes ma'am!"
He practically ran out of the room and rushed like there was no tomorrow till he reached the craft.
He told SteNav to return to Earth.
The journey time was two weeks.
Avon's only worry was whether he would make it in time.
He looked at the completed medallion. It had a faint aura to it.
It was continuously sucking in mana but at a very slow rate. Avon decided to let it be and kept it on a table.
Avon would often check on the medallion of it began glowing suddenly. And one day his fear came true.
It was on the fourth day since he set off. The medallion began pulsating with a golden glow.
There was still some time left. Given that he spent roughly two and half months collecting the pieces, the medallion had glowed pretty late.
He hoped that Reveria could hold on for a little longer.
He was restless and spent the remaining days looking at the medallion and counting the time left.
He couldn't sleep well and not could he relax.
Meanwhile in outer space surrounding Earth, Reveria was still, the chains had grown cracks on them.
Both Reveria and the heretic were silent. They were cultivating.
They decided to use this time to cultivate, so that when the chains break, they will have a better chance at victory.
'Avon should've been back by now, did something happen to him? If he does not reach within another day I will have to bring her out..'
Reveria was thinking about bringing out Laia.
All this time, inside an artifact that had its own space and time, Laia had been cultivating and training.
She had grown leagues and Reveria had her undergo training in such a manner that her defence was extremely strong.
Meaning Laia could manage to protect herself while assisting Reveria. Also she had Laia learn an attack capable of blinding the heretic for a while. An attack that works regardless of cultivation level. Afterall Laia couldn't fight with the heretic in any other manner as she was very weak compared to him.
So, Reveria didn't want to risk it and decided to wait for Avon until the chain broke.
Reveria spoke to Laia who was inside the artifact,
"Laia, be ready. In a few hours the chain will break. I will bring you out of the artifact and once they break immediately attack him with the illusion."
Laia who heard her master's voice felt unease in her chest. She was nervous but she calmed her heart and replied resolutely,
"Yes master!"
Slowly the cracks on the chain began increasing and becoming deeper.
The heretic opened his eyes and spoke with an evil smile on his face,
"It is almost time, how will you escape now? Be prepared for your death!"
Reveria opened her eyes slowly and spoke in a calm but strong tone,
"It is you who needs to worry about escaping."
"We shall see"
The man replied.
The cracks on the chain grew even more.
Reveria brought Laia out of the artifact and Laia knew what she had to do. She began preparing the illusion.
One more crack and finally it split into two halves and disintegrated into mana.
