"Kase has another child, right? Hmmm… Blaike!! Why don't we kill her? She's fresh meat, totally vulnerable. That will send the message we want."
Raven's heart froze, skipping a beat. 'Son of Kase… that's me! I don't think I offended anyone. What the hell did I do to piss them off?'
His mind raced, trying to make sense of it all. Then it hit him like a ton of bricks.
'Oh shit, they are the ones controlling the ghostly creature! The attack on me wasn't some random scare. It was premeditated, but after the first failure, the ghostly creature refused to kill me. Why? Is it because of our strange connection? What am I in its eyes?'
