Chapter 44 - Open Sesame
"You were a mother, weren't you?" Raven whispered in close proximity with the banshee, "I don't know why you chose me but you needed someone to… remember you? You spared my life back then. You could have killed me but you didn't. You need something from me, am I right?"
The banshee hesitated, its eyes flickering as if torn between rage and recognition.
"The memories of your past life… you often remember them!"
"Do I remind you of someone? What is it?"
The banshee opened her charred lips but only the death wail rang out. Her attempts at communication failed.
"How can I help you?" Raven let out a sigh, his hesitation vanishing as he looked the banshee right in the eye. "That's what you want, right?"
He took a step closer. "You are not in control. You have become something monstrous. Say something, please…"
