Jay leaned forward slightly, his voice quieter now, losing its usual playfulness. "Bella... you know you can tell us anything, right?"
Jace nodded, his eyes soft. "We're family. Whatever it is, we're here."
Bella looked at them, her eyes glistening. She wanted to tell them what she was feeling, but the words wouldn't come.
Instead, she simply nodded and smiled.
"I know. Thank you."
Jay watched Bella's expression with an unbearably smug grin. His eyes sparkled with mischief, and his lips curved into the kind of smile that usually meant he was about to say something utterly ridiculous.
He had known exactly what had been weighing on her mind.
Without saying a word, he reached into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulled out a neatly rolled document tied with a small ribbon. The paper looked official, with a wax seal and elegant lettering.

Bella blinked. "...What's this?"
